In this video I explain why you shouldn't update your iPhone XR, XS/XS Max, 11/11Pro and SE 2 to iOS 18 in details. You have to make sure you have enough storage, a healthy battery with good maximum capacity and a few other things. Be careful, because It may be a big mistake! Hope U Enjoy!

To anyone using an older device please update your phone if you can,

2. Actually reduces the over consumption of power by the CPU to improve youe battery life.
3. Yes some new features are not compatible, No, your phone will not throttle your CPU to try those features if anything it give you more features like;
i. Game mode to reduce background processes while gaming
ii. A new look and functions to your control panel
iii. New customization options and features
iv. More depth to usage informations and more.
4. Security upate.
5. Easy compatible with other devices ie. your pc or other iphones
6. Reduces the risk of data leakage and more...
All the aboved mentioned are available on any device that can update to IOS 18...

@@ceer6 honestly it's not, I updated my Iphone XR 16 > 17 and then it stopped working Face ID, then I updated 17 > 18, battery drain and some bugs to whatsapp... then I rollback from 18 < 17, atleast I have battery and no whatsapp keyboard bug.
also im upgrading to Iphone 12 128Gb

Using an 11 Pro and I must say my battery life has improved after updating. I’m getting more screen time hours of and I highly recommend everyone to update!😁
Updating my awesome iPhone 13 with 256 gb 😊 battery health is at 93 % after two n a half years 😊 my storage is at 76 gb out of 256 gb 😂
Same with with my I phone 14 pro max after 2 years of use battery health is at 86% and storage is at 77 out of 256 this I phone was my I phone and is the best I will try to use this I phone for more two years let see how the battery holds up after 4 years of use 😅 before this phone I had an Snmsung g galaxy note 8 which I also use for four years then I switched to iPhone 14 Pro Max space black

The battery health and ram storage are not going to make a difference between iOS17 and iOS18. If your phone has room to for iOS17 then it has enough room for iOS18. You will just need a bit of free storage to run the iOS 18 install, when that is done its not going to take up much more (if any) than iOS17 did. As long as the iOS18 update runs then you're good to go.
As a precaution, apple will suggest you to backup to the cloud or to your computer in case of a problem. In all honesty, I would do the backup first, and then install the new version of ios. Then do a factory reset clearing all the issues and then a restore from backup whether it be from icloud or from the computer.
Or this kind of special case: You are going to get a new iPhone next year, and you are sure your old iPhone can survive by that time so you can still upgrade it anyway to get use to the new feature before you big upgrade.

iPhone 12 and up, are only worth it. Also helps to simply replace battery for max performance.

Plese turn it back on, this video is probably a side rant, updating actually improve quality of life on older iphones, security, prevents the CPU from consuming more power than it should to preserve battery life and many more, I even used the IOS 18 beta on the Xs and it was a genuine improvement.

I went back to iOS 17.6.1 on my XR lol iOS 18 is too sluggish & ui lags a lot.

I just did it on my iPhone 13 and it sucks
I have the xs max and it’s not worth updating it to iOS 18. It ran smoother and better on iOS 17.
Beta versions are buggy and will have glitches, and Apple doesn't intend it to be used on daily drivers. Apps will also behave differently or erratically under beta, or not even function correctly at all.
The release of the new ios 18 is coming in a few days. If you really want a fresh experience, backup the phone on your computer or icloud and then download the ios, install it, and then do a factory reset. Go thru the setup process, and you can either do the restore from icloud or the computer, finish the setup, download any missing apps and good to go.

I heard most of the new features on the new iOS 18, won't work on iOS 17. I'm sure the final release of iOS 18 will be fine and I do have a iPhone 11, and I also heard Apple is only gonna keep iOS 17 for so long.
iOS18 is a nice update from iOS17, I have a 15 PM and a regular iPhone 11, and the 11 runs iOS18 very well.

My iPhone 15 & S9 watch have had an issue since Feb. 2024 the health team are hoping iOS 18 will fix the bug, I’ve redone tests & profiles every 17 iteration. Can I ask what wld you do if iOS 18 doesn’t fix the health issue? Ask for a newer iPhone 16 or iPhone 15 Pro (I don’t want a huge iPhone 6.1” is max with arthritis). I have care on both iPhone 15 & S9 watch. I think I’ve been more than patient. I know it’s a hypothetical till iOS 18 comes out but it’s really getting under my skin. Don’t you have to update to the newest iOS on your older phone if you’re planning to update to a new phone soon?
If your phone is capable of running the next version of iOS, you will get a few of the new features your processor is capable of handling.

@@melissas.3171 what phone you plan on getting?? For a seamless transfer, be sure your phone is on the latest software update. The new phone should also be on the latest ios update as well.. but before you transfer be sure to backup to icloud or your computer just incase something goes wrong. If you're doing phone to phone data transfer, be sure both are either at 100% battery power or both are plugged in before starting the process. Depending on how much you plan to transfer, keep in mind you don't have to transfer everything over, like pictures, music, and messages. You don't even have to transfer all the apps also... but you will have to be sure they are all updated in the app store (it will say update next to the apps that have an update available).

My XS max has 512 Gb storage (270 Gb free) and my two year old genuine Apple replacement battery is at 95%. I will certainly be updating to iOS 18 as I’m waiting for next year’s iPhone 17. This year’s iPhone 16 is purely an interim model.
