    The diet actually makes your liver LESS soft. A thick, fatty liver is very soft. So much actually that it often breaks or tears when handling. It's like jello. When doing a very strict low cal low carb diet the liver starts giving up it's glycogen stores for your energy and that process shrinks and firms up the liver. Learnt this from Dr. Pilcher's channel :)

    While I found your channel as a result searching for those plus size hauls, I stayed because of your personality and level of confidence. I’ve recently gone back to watch come of your first videos and can see how your confidence has just blossomed. I’m very excited for you and cannot wait to see your progress throughout. Definitely won’t be going anywhere. Excited to see future clothing hauls as well. And yes, I have gotten a few items as a result of your videos! Good luck and please feel free (at least in my opinion) to share your excitement or any frustrations you may have. I’m sure most on here are cheering you on!!

    This is so crazy to watch someone else’s LRD. I’m having the sleeve on 12/30, obviously in america, but our reduction diet is the same regardless of weight and from what I’ve seen it’s incredibly strict. Two weeks: protein shake, protein shake, dairy snack (three choices), meal (4oz of lean protein and 2 cups max of non starchy veg). Minimum 64oz of liquid including protein shake, only from an approved liquid list. That’s it for the day. I started on the 16th and I’ve lost five lbs in the last three days, which, cool, but I’m wondering why it’s so strict. I’m going to keep doing it, but lord have mercy.

I’m on a meal replacement diet for diabetes remission and on 4 shakes/ soups a day it’s hard but it’s going to have an impact on my health longer term. Tbh I prefer this as it removes choice from my diet as clearly i don’t make good decisions! Good luck with your journey x

    Oh Trina, I hear you - the highlight of my day is my ML banana and custard yoghurt 🤣 I'm a Diamond member of SW and I still stick to the basics like Mullerlite. I'm always so aware that, if I let go of the reins, I will end up back where I started - over 11 stone heavier, so it's a life long commitment. You are doing so well, it must have been incredibly difficult to stick to such a restrictive diet - I take my hat off to you xx When you do your Q&A could you please touch on why you opted for the band instead of the gastic sleeve. I must admit my ignorance on the area and I know there must be pros and cons to each. So glad your recovery is going well and excited to share more of your journey with you. Take care xx

    I'm on day 11 of 21 on the liquid (Optifast 900) diet. The first week was so sucky. I'm living in fear that my liver won't shrink even though I haven't cheated at all and I keep giving my liver little pep-talks..."come on liver, shrink shrink shrink, shrink your booty"...cuz I'm a weirdo starving person. I'd be so MAD (and I have literal nightmares about) if they went in and closed up again and said my liver didn't shrink enough and I had to do the diet again.

    So happy to see your recovering so well I think the worst of the recovery was the drains, I just could not wait to have those gone. See I just did the 2 weeks of liquids cause I figured I'd be on liquids after so it was just the route I went. I remember having my last can of Cherry Coke prior and I cried over it since Cherry Coke was my #1 drink but when I say it was my last it was my absolute last it's been 10 plus years since my WLS and I never went back to rice, pasta, or pop. I still to this day doing my morning protein drink with fresh fruit because I have never been a morning breakfast person. I started out using Unjury protein then switched out to a GNC whey protein powder. I kinda switched around with my daily vitamins brands. Best of luck!!!

      Wow, I have never heard of someone doing it for that long! How did you find it and how are you post surgery? 💗

    • @HalluFay
      @HalluFay Рік тому +4

      @@TrinaLouise It's been nearly a year post-op. I got a gastric sleeve, due to being anaemic, PCOS and having various inefficiencies in vitamins and minerals.
      It was hard in the beginning. I had barely gone though 2 weeks, before I wanted to quit. My surgeon, when I spoke to him about this looked at me calmly and asked what size casket I would like? For as big I was he would give me a year or 2 before I would have died. I remembered feeling flustered and flabbergasted. But it was honestly, it was the kick I needed. Whenever I began to falter, I would look at pictures of caskets and It killed any sorts of craving I had (if a bid morbidly).
      After i had the surgery, I saw weight loss immediately. One thing that surprised me the most, was after surgery just how mobile and not in pain I was.
      But the biggest change was my relationship with Food. The first few weeks, I didn't want to even look at food. I would get queasy just the thought of eating. I suddenly saw just how out of control my portion sizes were. I didn't realise just how many calories per day I was eating, and how much sugar there was in the tiniest things. What i had perceived as "healthy" before, had turned out to be more unhealthy than i thought. It was like my trust had been broken regarding food and nutrition labels. I was suddenly more conscious about what I put in my body. I had to up my proteins, almost no greens and veggies (which was baffling). But the result speaks for it self, I went from 230kg to 153kg now.
      One advice I will give you, is never EVER compare yourself to others in the same journey. You might think oh why is she loosing 7kg in a week and I've only lost 4. Its different for everybody, your body is different. Weight lost is never linear, and you most definitely go though weight gains and plateaus. When they occur, don't panic for its a natural thing. It's just your body trying to catch op with the rapid weight loss. But I can't tell you just how much happier and proud I am for you. Enjoy it babe, you deserve it ❤️

    • @HalluFay
      @HalluFay Рік тому

      @@Courtneyburns90 to be honest, that has been my respons for as long as I could remember. Whenever anyone, be it mum, family, friends or even strangers, I would tell them Fuck that and eat until I almost passed (and gained massive weight). But I want to live for myself and my future. I took the responsibility for my own actions and are now bettering not just my life, but the quality of living ❤️

    Man oh man.. I'm so envious of your two options for the LRD diet! When I had mine, my surgeon/clinic assigned to me ONLY the liquid diet for 3 weeks! It was absolute torture. I had to use Boost (was in Canada at the time), as it was the only dairy free option.. and near the end I couldn't even TOUCH the vanilla one and had to stick with chocolate cause it was just beyond nauseating. Even now if I think of Boost I want to vom! GRANTED.. 2 days before my surgery someone contacted me to see how I was and I mentioned the hardship of the liquid diet and she said "Oh, did they not tell you you're allowed (a similar lunch/dinner plan to yours) for dinners?!" I could have ended them all lol! So happy you had it through that portion though! It's an emotional journey I think too.. for those of us with complicated food relationships!
