Just watched this and tour video from 2023. Amazing videos man just subbed. About to watch the spring bear aswell! I am definitely gonna have to go on a tour
Hey right on . Appreciate you watching and thanks for the comment. Hope to have some more videos to share in the not too distant future. Good luck this season !
Roosevelt Elk populations on Vancouver Island are stable. To say your indirectly helping the elk population by hunting cougars is not commendable behaviour my friend. Predator management is short term effect and no management needs to be done on VI at this current time. If your hunting for fun, nothing wrong with that, just say so.
My understanding is that northern Vancouver Island has the highest density / numbers of mountain lion anywhere in the world, and the Elk are LEH only. Seems like it could be beneficial to remove a few cats.
@@skyedge6158 No, it's not, leave the ecosystem alone, you have no clue what you're doing or talking about, you're just some asshole with a gun. Hunt for food, materials, survival, that's it. Leave the animals alone. You aren't God. You're just a person.
You are very much wrong but it’s not my job to educate you on UA-cam. Getting rid of cats helps deer and elk populations.. short and long term if managed properly. Go act smart somewhere else
@@sloughwaya7291 well , wisdom and knowledge are two different things. Seems someone needs to brush up on their 8th grade vocabulary words… and maybe take a class in big game management strategies.
This was a cool experience. That sure was some steep, snow covered terrain. The dogs work hard, they truly seemed in their element and enjoyed what they were doing. Can't wait for next season.
Hey great video man! From Vancouver island I am shocked to see all of the hate for someone going out and doing a hunt that is legal and rarely done by the majority of hunters good luck next year!
Great video man, I was out with a buddy last year doing the same thing haha, watching the dogs on the gps as my buddy says to me, "oh fk sakes, they made their way up into the nastiest Valley, why do they always go to the shityest part of the mountain"..haha cat hunting is an adventure and workout every hunter needs to experience at least once.👊👌😁🌲
Right on ! What a blast ! It Took us 3 days of chasing 1 cat before we finally caught up with him and we had 5 dogs , it’s not always easy. U should try dogs for bear it’s awesome too !
You're a dick, why would you chase down some animal in it's natural habitat, leave it alone dude, it did nothing to you. People like you are so ridiculous. You're the reason we have conflicts and all these problems, you think you're doing something cool or helping, no, you're just a dick. Hunt for survival. That's it. Nothing else.
These highly intelligent sentient cats have a hard enough life without having to deal with predators hunting them for kicks. Adenovirus hemorrhagic disease in our islands blacktail populations has been a viscous challenge lately for these cats continuity.
Interesting. If you watched this video you will see that we did not harvest a cat. If I do one day, I will be sure to keep the meat as I hear they are quite good eating.
Hunters have been using hounds for hunting for thousands of years.. If you watched the entire video you would see that we were not able to harvest a cat on this hunt.

@@guaporeturns9472 You’re incorrect. And I don’t want your knowledge because it’s clearly unwise.

I'm sorry I don't know where he got the hounds from. I was told the breed is called "blue tick"

Hey have you ever seen fallow deer on the island never knew there was an all year open season on them?
No, sorry. I haven't spent much time hunting on the island. You could try some of the hunting forums to gather info on the fallow deer.
Oh ok thanks.
They are only on the southern gulf islands
I love hunting cat's and i always look forward to your videos, thanks for sharing this experience with us
Thanks for watching. I know it wasn't action packed, and we didn't get a cat, but it was still a great experience
What type of hound is that?
Blue tick

Hey Marcus. On Vancouver island there is a healthy population of mountain lions. The biology of the area does well when mountain lions are managed.
