Because some of you were asking - here are some spirit-free drinks to try this January! What are your favorite booze free concoctions?
Make more videos on mocktails!
Thanks man, one of my friends is an alcoholic. I'll look forward to sharing this with them.
Thanks Anders, have been waiting for this one!
Thanks!! Looking forward to part 2!
At place I work we do Bombay Colada which is basically non alcoholic version of Pinacolada but sweet. Also Punjabi punch which is a mix of orange, pineapple, passionfruit, mango, lychee juices with addition of passionfruit puree .
This episode was really great because most of these ingredients are fairly accessible. I don't try a lot of mocktail recipies because they often call for "a grating of a unicorns horn" and some "smashed enchanted beans"
Very good point. They think that the absence of alcohol means you have to boost the other stuff. And as is shown here, that's just not the case, is it?
Oh my god you are SO RIGHT!
Unicorn's horn has been stuck on container ships and so is in short supply. Enchanted beans come from Mexico and are easier to get. 😂😂 ( I realize some ingredients are either nearly impossible to obtain or insanely expensive.)
Looool
It's so true. I mean I'm an energy healer, and my sister is an herbalist so huge amounts of my life seem like that lol
As someone who doesn't drink, I really appreciate this. It really sucks when you go somewhere and you're the only one who has to get, like, water or lemonade while your friends are all having fun drinks
Well... what’s so fun about them? Since you don’t drink, you probably don’t like the taste. Is it just the colors or something? Well, lemonade also has enough of that. And water is just really good anyways. So.. huh?
@@Kayta-Linda Uh, my dude, some people can’t drink alcohol for reasons other than just not liking the taste…like for religious reasons, or because of addiction, or allergies, or maybe you’re the designated driver.
Anyway, I second that water or lemonade is really boring when you’re out with friends. It’s super, super nice when you’re able to get a cool mocktail like this. 👍🏻
@@Kayta-Linda What are you evening talking about
@@Kayta-Linda if you don't drink you don't like the taste of the spirit. Not fruits, herbs, etc.
@@Kayta-Linda It's just that lemonade feels basic... which isn't bad... but sometimes, you don't want to feel basic...
As a non-drinker who always thought mixed drinks SOUNDED tasty but subsequently couldn't drink them, thanks for this!
My favourite mocktail is one I made at a bartender job I used to have. It's elderflower syrup with pear juice, fresh mint leaves and sparkling water. It's really refreshing!
Thanks for the inspiration you give with all your videos :)
That sounds excellent!
Does this drink have a name? I’d love to order it from somewhere since I have no idea where to find alot of those ingredients haha
I’m trying this ASAP!
I honestly don't know if it has a name. However, elderflower Sirup is quit common in Europe, in the US you may have to check amazon and co ? For the pear juice, I recommend buying pears in a tin/can and just purée it (or fresh pears with some tap water). :)
You can find elderflower syrup at Ikea. :)
The Devils Day Off looks great and a perfect name for a non-alcoholic drink!
Cheers! Hope you can give it a try!
As a recovering alcoholic, I love seeing more people making mocktails, especially ones that don't require a lot of obscure ingredients.
Thanks for making this!! My mom is allergic to alcohol and has been bugging me to learn some alcohol free ones since I’ve gotten into cocktail making:)
Hope this helps! Your mom deserves a good drink too - Cheers to you both! 🍹
Omg! If you have more suggestions let me know 😊
The Grey Fox sounded really good so after watching this video I just made some earl grey syrup and mixed it up. And it didn't disappoint! This would actually be a really nice summer drink.
Cheers, Ryan! Thanks for giving it a try!
Thanks for this! Even if you're not participating in dry January, it's always nice to have some fun options for people who choose not to consume alcohol. No reason a DD can't enjoy some of your mixology prowess.
Absolutely - the DD deserves the most of anyone. Cheers!
Good to add new ones to the repertoire as a bartender also!
Thank you so much for this video. I have a Muslim friend who I think feels left out at get-togethers.
I have tried mocktails before and other than virgin tiki drinks nothing worked for me. And him...he doesn't like sweet drinks.
I hope now he won't have to lounge with malt juice anymore.
Great video. Now I really need to get that red bitter soda. One Gunshop Fizz for me and The Devil's Day Off for my abstinent friend.
Thanks, Joonha! Hope these recipes help you and your friend out! Definitely worth picking up the red bitter sodas. Cheers!
That’s very nice of you!
This is great! I love making cocktails, but don’t like drinking them myself much because of the alcohol. I would definitely recommend the book “Good drinks” for more spirit-free cocktails!
As a Canadian, let me recommend the virgin caesar: clamato (tomato juice with salt and a little clam juice if you can't find it), with little hits of tabasco, worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and lemon juice. Garnish with celery and rim with salt. Don't poke your eye out.
Guess I’m not a true Canadian cause I never had that before 😳
Red bitter soda sounds great.
The Earl grey syrup is a great idea.
I really appreciated this video. I always have recovering drinkers and pregnant women wanting mocktails at our establishment. One of my go to’s is an old fashioned with black tea, or an earl grey gimlet. Winter time is also a good time for an orange pekoe hot toddy. These are great to have in the Rolodex.
That sounds good!
This is great! I grew up in a Muslim house hood where alcohol absolutely doesn’t exist and not in our nature. Booze is huge here in Kentucky but of course I’ve never found pleasure or desire for alcohol. I’ve decided to take a look into making mocktails especially to serve for my big Muslim family gatherings. It’s fun, a chance to be creative, and people love a fancy drink in their hand! Thank you! 😁
Another tip for anyone who really wants just an NA version of each of their favorite cocktails, you can buy small bottles of alcohol removed spirits, or spirit mimics. One of the most common is a gin mimic, I like to steep butterfly pea flowers in a gin mimic for an na empress gin feel.
Im a newly pregnant bar manager (1st baby!) so working on my mocktail list at work is way more fun! Thanks for some fabulous ideas!
Good luck ma'am! ❤
Thank you for this! My husband and I love a good homemade cocktail, but I’m heading into this summer very preggo. So happy we’ll have something delicious that I can drink too!
Espresso tonic is now my go-to cold coffee/mocktail. It also works well with non-alcoholic bitter apperatif-type sodas, or even grapefruit juice.
Love this idea! I contemplated having an espresso drink on this list. Cheers, Jurgan!
When I got into espresso the espresso tonic was the drink I made more than any other and I love it
Dude this couldn’t have come at a better time as I’m currently in the throes of Dry January. That bitter red soda looks so good! And that tea syrup too. Fantastic video!
Thanks, Dominic! Hope it's a good dry January for you, and these can help. Have a great weekend!
I just had my first mocktail that my cousin made for me and I loved it so much she gave me the recipe :
-Mango Passion fruit juice
-Blue Agave nectar
-Lime/Lemon seltzer
-slice of Lime/Lemon
-Ice
It is my favorite drink and when I got home I bought all of the ingredients and will never stop drinking them lol
Have already tried out 2 of the 4 within a day of posting and we love them!
I'd really love a video on how you create your own cocktail recipes, with tips on what flavors go well together.
Thanks Anders and Az, the channel is a huge inspiration for home bartenders such as myself.
Spa is also a company that sells bottled water from Spa, Belgium!
This brings me a lot of joy. I've recently gone alcohol free and this video has given me a lot of great ideas to try out. Happy new year Anders :D
I made a basil-lime-orgeat drink since I didn't have lemon. It was quite interesting.
Just saw this- great video! These are easily my favorite mocktails and I will be making some for a friend this weekend!
Sharing with my mocktail curious friend. The orgeat lemonade looks super yum.
Highly recommend it! Cheers!
Just found your Channel. I’ve been looking for some non alcoholic mixed drinks for summer and it’s crazy how hard they are to come by! Thank you so much for these. I will make all of them.
I just asked for this and here it is! Amazing! Thanks so much for doing this video - these all sound fun and delicious and I can't wait to try!
This is so nice, thank you for spoiling us that don't/cant have alcohol. We get to have fun too!!!!
love the style of your video. especially "final thoughts"
Thank you for these!
Anders!! I just came upon your channel a couple weeks ago and love your content, man! I have to say...I am so grateful for this video. My wife is halfway through her pregnancy and she is missing good cocktails something FIERCE! I saw this video and made her the Orgeat Basil Lemonade. GAME CHANGER! She LOVED it! It's gonna be our go-to mocktail thru the summer and beyond. Thanks a million Anders! Love your channel!
trying to stop drinking and these mocktails really help out thank you
Happy New Year, Anders!!!!
I thought the Gray Fox was an Elder Scrolls reference…
Very useful video, thank you!
The spa water is literally heavenly will totally make again.
Love the way u give the information. Easy fun . Thanks for great show .
Holy shit dude! This was such a good time! Your vibes are legit!
Love this thanks so much!
How creative! Love it!
Thank you. I love going to friend filled parties, and I'm currently not taking alcohol into my body. I'm so greatful for this video.
Thank you so much for the Sanbitter one. I was looking for something like that to make for my friends. Have to try it asap!
Keep it up!!
Awesome recipe
Wonderful drinks! Thank you!
Those all look great! Thanks!
I love that you used aquafaba in a drink...that is very cool! Using raw egg has always kind of grossed me out and I have people that are allergic to eggs in my group, so this works so well!
I loved the video, perfect recipes for my grandmother in the summer.
Gotta keep her happy!
Fantastic thanks bro
Omg, a mocktail with Sanbitter! Thank you very much!
They all sound great!!!
thank you!! love the non alcohol videos
The Basil Orgeat Lemonade is a winner! Thank you
thanks for doing some mocktails! I don't really do mocktails generally but I love to make drinks for company - and often people don't want to drink either because they never do, or they're driving, or whatever! So this gives me some great ideas for that.
I became your big fan before I knew it. Thanks for many dope videos. They inspired me to start purchasing and shaking my own boston shaker.
Just tried the Grey Fox. Instant hit.
Thanks for this! I left off alcohol and am always looking for fun mocktails. Would love to see a video on making shrubs. Love your style.
Thank you!
Tried the grey fox, it was really good!
I definitely also thought of the dirty water that you bathed in at the spa so I'm glad I'm not alone! Love these ideas too. Thanks!
I really liked the devil's day off! Looking forward to try the basil orgeat lemonade 🍋
As I am one of them who asked for this I THANK YOU! Please make more mocktails, and, if can request, perhaps some sweeter and non-bitter ones, please!
Interesting. Definitely need to find the soda you showed.
that was awesome. Please do an episode 2 some day!
Thank You for this video !!
I’m always looking for good non-alcoholic drinks as I’m 29 and don’t drink … Can’t wait to try these out !!!
Thanks for this!
great video! I spent several years teetotaling so I definitely want to make sure I have a good amount of mocktail recipes
Been really enjoying binging this channel, even though I don't have my own home bar... something just really satisfying about them. Thanks!
Thanks, Tom! Happy you're enjoying the content. Cheers!
Omg thank you for the recipe, i want to make this to break the fast with my family in the month of ramadan later ⚘🙏🏽
I don't drink so I really appreciate this video! Thank you!
I think that they key to making your own mocktails is to improvise out of the ordinary flavour ideas to prevent it from just being juice. Keep the citrus lower than usual, increase bitter and spicy elements, utilize infusions to make unique syrups and bitters etc. (a couple dashes of bitters although alcholic, wont be a problem for those looking to dial back their alcholol consumption, except if its for religious or medical purposes).
Love the blooper cuts you’ve been adding at the end
Love this one! Appreciate the multiple snort laughs you gave me here too.
Thank you so much, Sarah! Snort laughs are the highest praise!
I just made Devil’s day off - it’s so goooood!!! ❤
The Devil’s Day Off is one of the best mocktail recipes I ever came across! I had no agave nectar so I substituted it with chestnut honey from the foothills of the Etna volcano and my teetotalling guests loved it!
So what happened was…I fell in luv lol…this rocked! Ty….answered a questioned I had abt how to enjoy my adult drinks w/out getting intoxicated…..I liked and subscribed …
Tea syrups are totally underrated ! Love them !! Great cocktails too !
“…I’m the fox.”
😂😂😂
Man these look delicious
Thanks for making Dry January more tolerable!
Thank you for these! Made my orgeat syrup today
Thank you this has helped much with my fight against being a alcoholic
Perfect!! I needed some interesting mock tail options!! These are great!
Cheers, Sue! Hope you're having a happy new year! 🥂
@@AndersErickson would love a series of great cocktails with a low alcohol content. Can’t put them away like I used to… so one dead meadow then I need something just as amazing but way less booze. So I offer up a challenge. Going to source that cute red soda- sounds great! Maybe you can get seed lip or revel to sponsor you! 😃🥃🥃cheers!!
Can you do more of these. Trying take a break from drinking and more would be great !
I just stopped drinking recently & this is an awesome find ❤️
We made the basil ogreat lemonade this evening for my nieces who are under 21. Very delicious and refreshing. A great summertime drink just the way it is even for those who enjoy adult beverages.
Spa water fye
My parents don't drink, and I'm always after interesting things to make them, so I'm super excited to try these out!
Exactly what I’ve been looking to add. Made the lemonade and it is amazing and will be my go to easy mocktail for sure now. May also try it with some gin. Amazing combo though.
ginger ale goes also good in exchange for soda in the spa water
These look so tasty
Thanks for doing this. Non alcoholic drinks on occasion might actually get you more views. Very smart. Your presentation is the best.
The devils day off actually sounds so good right now. I need one of those.
Spa water is water that comes from the ground. It is full of minerals and healing benefits. I live in Royal Leamington Spa in the UK. We were given the Royal decree by Queen Victoria who used to love to visit the town because of our Spa water. If you go to a German town with the preface "Bad" such as Bad Aibling. That is also a Spa town. Great video. Not sure about dry January. But some fun cocktails to try. Have a great weekend!
Ahhh! That sounds so much more appealing than dirty filth water. Thank you for the insight, Matthew!
I quit drinking 3 months ago. Looking forward to trying these. Thank you for making something that isn't just seltzer, lime and cranberry juice. :-)
Lovely!! Thanks! How about warm drinks for the cold weather?
Thanks for these, had to give up booze a few years ago and always on the lookout for a iced, refreshing - and interesting - drinks that aren’t just a plain old glass of water or juice with ice cubes in.
Ooo this is lovely, I don't drink alcohol so thank you!!
I'm just sipping away on a THE DEVIL’S DAY OFF and it's freeing awesome. Such a great drink. Complex and bold. Both thumbs up, Anders!
