Really interesting breakdown. I think INFJ-ISTP relationship will appeal more to those partners seeking to grow and challenge themselves. And it seems like neither type wants to be bored, so there ya go
Thanks for this. I'm an INFJ with an ISTP partner, of course I like to analyze our relationship in hopes of improving some aspects of it, if any... What I've noticed within myself, with insights like this I can carve a new pathway to serving my Ni with directing my partners Si to solving or assisting with the physical Si aspect, which will make navigating my own goals through Ni much easier. My boyfriend has always shown his love by creating solutions in our environment to make our lives physically easier and more efficient. I also try to work through my feelings before addressing my boyfriend to make it as simple and straightforward and try to connect him to a physical solution or change. And I know that being active in his day-to-day let's him know that I value his work and that we are a team. Thanks again for this video!
Very insightful and thanks for your video. I am an INFJ female and have been with my partner for 23 years. It has been a very bumpy ride for us at times. We have had to work hard at fitting them stabilsers back on so to speak. One thing that absolutely really works for us is that we both need space to do our own thing and we both respect that far into the relationship. My Ni hero and his Ni child have a mutual understanding of that. We both love nature too, which is a plus. Like you say, any relationship can work, just with some, you really do have to shovel that coal faster into that furnace.
Married to an ISTP … as much as I tried to prevent the end from happening I saw it coming just as fast. It is true, at some point we didn’t respect each other’s differences. Now I’m with an INTP and that comes with a whole different set of issues but also similar ones. Let me just say it’s a little easier to be myself in the latter of relationships. What a long journey of characters I’ve been through… all different. I often question, “Why? What’s the purpose?”
I think that another thing that matters is love language. For example my father is ISTP and he shows he cares through acts of service so I appreciate acts of service as a result. I noticed that I like when a guy does little acts of service as a way of flirting without talking. It's familiar to me.
man i hate hearing this stuff... istp here.. im mad about an infj but it seems kind of difficult to keep her interested in me. im used to having an easy time with the women that I usually get involved with.. dont know why im so attracted to someone who im not all that compatible with.
Trust me (INFJ here) you will be miserable and feel like a failure your whole relationship. Unless you are super into integrity and self awareness/improvement, you both will end up in miserable HELL! INFJ's live in a complex and in-depth inner world. If we let someone in that world, there is a hyper focus on safety and trust. IMO ISTP's will never be able to provide the safety an INFJ needs to be happy. And trust me, your crush will end after the chase feels won. You are attracted to the mystery and chase not the person. Do yourself and them a favor and keep moving!
INFJ here also! I have had the exact opposite experience and that's because my ISTP has extremely loyal qualities. I feel more safe with him than anyone else because he always tries to understand me and never judges me for who I am. If she is interested in you, you will know. I wouldn't force her to like you but I also do want to encourage you by telling you that it is possible for it to work out if you two ever get into a relationship.
Sir, don’t take MBTI as a religion or whatever. I love MBTI but I don’t really believe we can perfectly describe almost 8 billions people with 16 personalities, no matter how much genius Jung was or how much dedication-study the Myers-Briggs put into it, we are all singular in some level and this do makes difference in therms of relationships. If you feel like you have genuine feelings for this girl you should at least try, it can work and you two ending up in a happy relation or can indeed be horrible but at least you had your personal experience and not a perspective of this relationship future from internet people that you don’t know (again, I do like MBTI but there is limits) I know is kind late, 8 months before, but anyways, hope you are ok now and had a new chapter of this history.
Hi, Eric. Thanks for the insights! Any books/resources on why the 5th function is sth one respects in the other person, in a relationship? Similar question for the 6th function, how come that is "required" in difficult situations from the other person, in a relationship?
INFJ’s are a lot more suited for INTP’s. Both are intensely intellectually curious, but yet the former is socially competent and empathetic, and the latter not so, but very logical

Yes! Great comments about shelf life and 5th slot resulting in lack of respect.

INFJ INTP is a very good match. Two introverts can work better than two extroverts, although I do think one of each is ideal.

20 years of marriage, compatibility matters.

Great analysis 🎉❤
Host Eric,
Could you give an example of how ISTP would attempt to provide Si to the Infj?
Thank you!
😌
Types that have the dominant function as the other ones polr (ISFJ vs ENTJ, or any other example of the concept)
Btw, great video Eric!
Great video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!

Please do an episode on INFP-INTP relationships.
Why (and how) does 7th slot has any kind of value in it? Like, how does a blindspot manifests itself as being an absolute value?
Спасибо
наконец-то хоть кто-то русскоязычный в комментариях, ура)
Thank you! Can you also make one on ISFP and INFJ?
Sure. This way I don't have to think about which to do next.
@@Talkingwithfamouspeople thank you! 🌸
