I was STOKED when I saw this. Style Savvy is slept on, and this looks to be the spiritual successor. Seriously, guys. It is much more legit than you might think.

I reallllly hope this is of the same quality. As I’m seeing it it kind of looks like it’s just walk around and look at other people’s styles/wear new clothes. There is literally nothing talking about a story, plot, or goals. It makes me nervous. I loved Style Savvy because it had all of those things centered around fashion. This kind of feels like people assuming dressing up virtual Barbies is good enough. I hope I’m wrong though!

@@chunli99 I agree. I really loved being a shopkeeper and attending the nightly fashion competitions. Im looking forward to this but I hope there's more beyond this trailer. Also this game only has 1000 styles compared to the Style Savvy series which usually a whopping 10K+ styles (Trendsetters 12K).

never got to play them but I heard they were awesome. Hope this is as good because I'm seriously considering a Switch for it.

OMG!!!😱, glad I’m not alone. There was supposed to be a “Style Savvyy Fashion Famous” a year or two ago but clearly that’s false😒. Hopefully this Fashion Dreamer will have the same Style Savvy elements as well.

Nintendo owns the Style Savvy IP, it's possible that running a boutique would be too similar even though it's the same developer. Hopefully if it does well then Nintendo will ask them to make another boutique game...

If you’re wondering, yes, this is the same developers as Style Savvy. This basically is Style Savvy 5.

You don’t own a shop in this one, and you can play as a guy too it seems. In Japan the series was called girls mode, so I’m guessing the jp name is also different since it’s not just girl-focused now. Syn Sophia is still credited but it seems X-seed and other developers are involved now. Spiritual Sucessor though!
While this game isn't for me, I'm glad we are getting stuff like this. It is nice to have variety. Reminds me of what would be on the Nintendo DS.

This seems to be a spiritual successor to a series that started on DS (art style is pretty much the exact same) so you're not wrong lol.
Indeed! This takes me back to the Pinky Street Kira Kira series (i.e. Pop Princess and Pop Town) on the Nintendo DS. Basically, it was a series of fashion-themed rhythm games with a strong focus on character customization. Despite its cutesy exterior and sadly all-female cast, the game gets increasingly difficult, all the way to the final boss stage. Both games were released in Japan and Europe only so I was lucky enough to play the first game after borrowing it from my younger sister out of curiosity. I strongly recommend these games to anyone who loves both rhythm games and dress-up. The characters are unique and memorable, the dialogue is well-written and the soundtracks are well-varied and catchy!
Now we need a DLC to be able to hire models and make a runway presentation, or a beauty contest, this will be awesome

Am I the only one who is a bit worried? I hope it as great as the style boutique series, it looks so different tho and idk how to feel about the whole influencer thing. Ive been wanting a sequal since the beginning of the switch, i really hope it can live up to its expectations!
i feel the same, it feels so diffefent and its just made in a different time for a different generation so im TRYYING not to expect it to be the same formula as the old games, but god do i wish it would be... what about the brands, the hair salon and beautician? not a sign of them yet :(

Not enough ppl are excited about this, and that’s upsetting. I’m a HUGE fan of the Style Savvy series and I thought it was dead. I’m glad it was picked up by X-Seed. It lives on! I don’t mind the name change 😂

@@youreverydayrae I also noticed one of the places in this video brought back my favorite boutique motif from Trendsetters, so this can probably be considered a full-blown sequel
This wont end up being like style savvy, here are my thoughts so far:
- the style of the game looks very minimalistic and corporate, looks like it's trying to appeal to a wider audience rather than just a niche, which to me feels really soulless when a game does this, it comes with a lot of missed opportunities.
-there are no brands, NPCs or story trom what we've seen. i loved this in the style savvy games cause it really gave a sense of community, the games felt cozy
-It focuses on social media and influencing, which doesnt really seem as engaging to me as running a boutique, right now, it seems like the game flow consists of making outfits/designs, uploading them, getting likes, and unlocking more items from levelling up from likes. i just hope that's not all there is to it and there will be something to keep it engaging, like a goal or story
-it seems like you get to design your own clothes but all we've seen is that youre able to change the color/pattern of an item and nothing else, missed opportunity to be able to choose design elements such as necklines and sleeve types.. if you cant do that then what's the point in a brand design oriented game?

that being said, will i still buy it...? yeahhh.......
edit: i mean thjs ckmment to say that we shouldnt expect it to be like style savvy, because its nkt the same game, and neither am i surprised. speaking more generally i jist personally dont like the direction games like these take nowadays, not specifically fashion dreamer!

being realistic Style Savvy not as popular as we think it is. Not even in japan. It makes sense to try for a different approach. and with so many young people wanting to be fashion influencers this makes sense. There's a reason japan hasn't seen a stlye savvy game since the 4th one back in what 2018? and style savvy had gender locked clothing too so thats a weird criticism. Im going to buy it because i love fashion simulation games and this fits the bill. And everyone seems to forget that there will most likely be an update that will give us more options.

it would made my day if nintendo added tomodachi life with it but i'm glad we have a game that reminds style savvy universe and clearly a fashion game

im concerned bc nintendo kinda abandoned the whole mii thing (eg switch sports is not about miis they're only an option etc) but we also thought style savvy is dead so who knows what's yet to come~
I know a lot of comments on Nintendo Direct didn't seem thrilled about this announcement but I was hyped. I loved the Style Savvy games and hoped for another on the Switch. Hope it's story driven like the last one.
I was overwhelmed with excitement I didn’t even look at the comments. Don’t worry, those people tend to think only specific genres and franchises should be in direct which is silly. Nintendo is a business after all and will try to delivery to a wide range of audiences. Loved Style Savvy so much! I’m hoping to see more about the story.

Looks fun but my favorite part about style savvy was that I got to run my own little boutique and style customers. Lowkey wish they would just do a remake of the original for switch but i’ll take what I can get.

One thing I love in games is the e ability to customize a character, so this is a must buy for me. I can spend hours messing with outfits. I just love fashion
love this, hope this game can growth and get a lot updates (dlc, expansion, collabs, etc) this can be a great virtual life and comunity

Ah yeah! Never before have I felt so hyped about an upcoming dress-up game! I'm so happy to know that you'll be able to play as a male fashion designer and/or model if you feel like it! Also, props to whoever decided to include a Bratz reference!
Back in the day, everyone used to believe that fashion and dress-up were hobbies for girls only. And sadly, that myth still exists today. That's why I'm always delighted to see this myth challenged again and again by allowing boys to play dress-up too! For me, the most beautiful thing about fashion is that it has no rules. And, if it had only one rule, it would be "anything goes!" Here's to happy designing!

I was looking forward to a new Style Savvy; this is it, but also not. I've only played the newest 3DS title, but that had little plots about helping upcoming pop stars with their careers and whatnot. This seems kind of barebones in comparison, but I think I'll check it out anyway. There might be more to it in future updates.

I'm actually so happy, I played the fashion forward game for the 3ds and i was genuinely so in love with the game. I'm so happy to see it's return.
I remembered when I was 9, my dog chewed up my style savvy game I was DEVASTATED (i knew it was my fault for leaving my door open). I was so upset my mom went out to buy it again. I still have it 13 years later. the mf music hit so hard.

Yeah because most of them just expected it to be the next generation of Style Savvy/Boutique just 'cause it’s by the same developers when in actuality it’s a different game to the Style series and they clearly stated that in this trailer and the other trailers. 😒
Comparing it to that series is a mistake because it isn’t and never was advertised to be like Style Savvy/ a fashion shop management simulator.
Fashion Dreamer is a sandbox Dress Up Doll game like Love/Shining Nikki or Dress up Time Princess but minus all the microtransactions.
@@WhiskeredNightfall Not at all! Love Nikki actually has mini games, events, and story chapters. This game is so flat even with the upcoming updates. I don't know why Nintendo constantly releases their mediocre or less desirable titles, when they have other fashion titles that they could've released to the US. They're the same way with Otome games. There's a serious problem with the Japanese market and how it translates into Western media.
Yeah, it's not the same as Style Savvy/Girls' Mode, but it's so uninspired and lazy. Any time they do a social media/futuristic setting for these kind of games, it always fails. There is no life and no love, just a bunch of marketing executives talking about what's popular in an overworked and cramped office in Tokyo. They say, oh social media's popular with young girls, and this is what we get as a result. There is no level of accomplishment, the reward system is virtually nonexistent, you can't even save any outfits that you've completed, the NPCs are somehow even more bland than the original Style Savvy, where they only had a name and a fun fact, there is no sorting system in a FASHION game beyond type. They are so out of touch and just expect us to eat whatever they give (like the manga industry as well). And when it ultimately fails, and the commotion doesn't translate to sales, they will say that fashion games are not lucrative. I just don't understand why they refuse to do what fans ask when there's a clear interest in revival in things like Bratz (which they are taking advantage of), LPS, Monster High, Cooking Mama, Style Savvy, Webkinz, Club Penguin, basically all these nostalgic IPs that were proven to be successful in the West.
Animal Crossing New Horizons came out on the switch, and it was literally amazing. Not perfect, but amazing enough to where someone could put hundreds of hours into it because there were so much to do with what little they gave. Same example being Minecraft, they just have to implement the basics, but the possibilities are so endless. I get that for this kind of game you might need a bit more development as in you might have to code the characters individually, but if they did it before in the early, mid 2000s, I don't see why they can't do that now. Anyway, sorry for my rant. I'm not really upset at you or anything, I'm just upset at the situation we're collectively in.
Hopefully we can own a store & do makeovers on characters 😀

This is very much a Story of Seasons situation. This is technically Style Savvy 5 but something something can't have the same name. It's always like that with x-seed for whatever reason lmao. Once I saw that developer name, I kinda had a feeling it was something like that.
