Yeah thanks! We definitely had our doubts too. 😂😂 But a new set of French doors was $4000 so we decided to take a chance on it. After cutting a big hole in the side of our house we were kind of committed 😁😂
Thank you Lynne! It was really a lot easier than I thought it would be. So much fun to see the crazy patterns those cheap little tools could make. I still can’t wrap my head around how it works😂😂 The hardest part was being patient enough to let it dry properly 😂👍
Thank you! We have been busy, but little time to edit out the videos 😂 we will try to get caught up when we get a chance. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!😊💕
Well well look at here Lance and Cinda is so good to see you guys just the other day you had passed through my thoughts wondering how you guys are doing I'm thinking God that you guys are still in good health and looking well and doing well blessings to you 😊 🙏🙏
Thanks Lynette! Lance is working on getting his 100,000 mile overhaul🤣 Double carpal tunnel surgery last month and shoulder surgery next month. So I have been picking up the slack a bit and haven’t had time to edit videos lately 😂😂He’s doing good though. Hope you and your family are well too! Take care😊💕
Hi. We will be posting a video soon. Life has gotten in the way lately. Lance has had shoulder surgery due to an accident and the recovery time is quite long. Also I was helping to care for my dad who had several strokes and needed round the clock care. He recently passed away. So, it’s been a lot… To answer your question though, the doors are holding up quite nicely so far. Even though my new pup loves to look out at the deer in the yard and then go a little crazy scratching at the window!😳🤣 so far they are at least as tough as real wood. Love it!
How nice to see a video posted this morning. What a beautiful job with the door! Great to see you both doing well. Greetings sent from lower Wisconsin.
Sorry to hear that you have been sick! We hope you get to feeling better soon. Lance has been having some problems too lately so we haven’t posted much. Take care, and thanks again for watching!😊
We stained the outside trim to match our log siding. But you could paint it if that would match the rest of the trim on your house. All of our trim is just stained. 😊
Hi , your channel is amazing; I've never seen this type of construction work before. We would like to show part of your videos in some video/s report about your channel. We will add your link, your name, and your work will be mentioned in the video.
Thanks! Lance has been having some health problems lately. He’s doing somewhat better now. Had carpal tunnel surgery in both hands so he’s able to do a bit more already. He is going in for surgery next month for a torn rotator cuff, so that’s going to put him down for a bit. Hopefully he will get a good 100,000 mile overhaul and then be good for a few more miles!🤣🤣Thanks for your concern!💕
Thanks so much Mira! We really appreciate your support over the last few years. Lance is having his 100,000 mile overhaul this year😂 Just had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands last month and shoulder surgery next month. When he recovers from that we will try to post more often. Hope you are well! 😊💕💕
@@natureartgirl estarei na torcida pra ele ter boa recuperação, e estreia em oração pra da tudo certo,ou melhor, já deu tudo certo...um abração pra vocês , e um afago pra seus filhos de 4 patas.
It was a slightly yellow brown base paint. Just use whatever color you like. Just a little will show through as an undertone. Even cream or white will work, I think, since the stain will tint it. Just try to use a flat finish ..not gloss. For the wood grain I used minwax aged oak gel stain. And minwax helmsman indoor/outdoor spar urethane for the two top coats. Clear satin. It gives a really nice finish. Not too shiny. If you are using it as an exterior door you should probably use 3 coats of the urethane. I would if I were to do it again. 😊
Thanks! We’ve been dealing with some life issues lately 🙄 Lance tore his shoulder rotator cuff and needed carpal tunnel surgery for both hands. So he’s been moving slow. He gets his shoulder fixed next month, but that will take a while to heal. We have a few videos that will be coming when I get time to edit them, but I’ve been trying to take some of the work load off him till he gets well. He heals quickly though if I can keep him from doing too much 😂😂
Hi Tom, yes, I think an old toothbrush would work perfectly for the small details! It would be easier to hold than the little brush I was using. Thanks for the suggestion!😊👍👍
Great video! It was very informative and easy to follow along . The door looks fantastic! What color did you use for the base paint? I have to do 4 metal doors for the church.
I used valspar duramax exterior paint+primer flat finish. You can use whatever color you want for the base coat depending on what tone you like. I used a soft golden brown color. Only a little shows through. You could also use a reddish brown if you want that tone.

Hi! We probably won’t start any big projects for a while. Lance has to have shoulder surgery next month and that will take a good while to heal. Hopefully he will be able to get his strength back before too long. Thanks so much for watching!😊👍
Hi, sorry we have been slow. My dad has been very sick and required 24/7 care. We were able to take care of him at home like he wanted. He just passed away last week. We look forward to seeing him again after the resurrection. Hope you are doing well. Thank you for checking on us💕💕💕

We have not posted much due to life issues. Lance just had a shoulder surgery so he is going to have a few months recovery time. And my dad who is 93 had a stroke and is bedridden. Life does get in the way my mother died a few months ago . We have a cottage we didn't get there till August ,we were so busy with my mom. All the best to both of you.

That window would work good in a greenhouse. Beautiful door.
Yes, or it could be used for a cold frame. 😊👍
Since I see that they don't post videos anymore, I hope they're worth it. I wish you all the best.

Very nice job on the doors
Thanks Gary!
It turned out nice, yes. Say, what about the framing around the door on the outside...going to stain that as well, or a simple painting?
