      +bigray27 Gday, i would recommend an SDC2300 for your first machine. Its a great intro detector, not too expensive and youll always find a nugget if yore in the right area. Sorry mate, but i dont do lessons. I need them myself sometimes!! All the best and good luck. JG

    18" approx for a half ox. My old modified SD2000 with a after market 11" eliptical could find that at about a foot. How long is it going to take to pay off that remaining $9000? The nugget was flat so there is no real test here except for. THERE IS EXTRA DEPTH with a Z

    Great nugget, great dig. I went to my cousins farm on the weekend at maryborugh and found nothing, I think I am doing something wrong or don't know how to use the machine correctly, I had a training day, but I think I can't work out the signals of gold as you seem to hear them with all those sticks on the ground which is impressive. Thanks for showing another great nugget. GL and HH.
    Cheers
    Daniel

    • @JayGoldNuggets
      @JayGoldNuggets 9 років тому

      Tanker 333 Gday Daniel, Thats no good about your cousins farm. But don't loose faith, if you put in the time and research, i promise you'll find the yellow stuff. Id recommend starting very basically with factory settings with audio smoothing off (these are still VERY powerful settings) Then get a few different size fishing sinkers and bury them at different depths, just get a ear for the different target responses. The longer you use this machine, the more you'll get to understand whats its telling you. I know that sounds a bit wishy washy, but you'll get it sooner or later. Let me know how you go with your finds. Cheers.

    • @SuperReefdog
      @SuperReefdog 9 років тому

      My cousins farm has gold on it, he said he let a local guy on there and he got some big nuggets up to 16grams, so it just me not knowing how to use the 5000 correctly or setting it up incorrectly from the start.
      I'll try those factory settings, but I am definitely doing something wrong with the setup of the machine cause it seems to make a signal every time I swing it the coil. I'll try burying some sinkers and see how it goes. Thanks for the encouragement as well!!as it get overwhelming when your trying to work it all out and what to listen for. Mate your videos are the best on UA-cam and the quality is outstanding, they are very informative and you seem so calm when you're pulling out these huge nuggets. I wanted to get the 7000 but my wife had a heart attack when I told her how much it was!! plus the fact I haven't found many nuggets with the 5000 and I was lucky she let me buy that!! Hope you post some new videos soon cause I'll be watching. HH and GL.

    • @JayGoldNuggets
      @JayGoldNuggets 9 років тому

      Tanker 333 Shit, sorry mate i thought you had a GPZ. Iv never owned a 5000 so i won't be much help with its settings. But the 5000 has been around for a while so there is heaps of info on them. I believe Jonothan Porter has an instructional DVD on the GPX5000 so that might worth a look. If youve got a spare second, go to Coilteck in Maryborough or Miners Den in Bendigo, I'm sure they'll be able to help you out. From what youre saying it may not be ground balanced properly, also make sure you have no metal objects near the coil, like steel capped boots etc, i learnt that the hard way. lol. Glad you like the vids, more coming soon. Keep me posted on your progress. Cheers.

    I'm not too impressed with Australian metal detecting; it's kind of a joke. Ever see an Australian dig up a piece of trash? I mean, in a place where you get a signal and you dig it up and it's a gold nugget, and never anything else---what's so hard about that? gold in Australia can obviously be found with a $150 metal detector---what do you need a zed for?You have no trash. Wow, I'm impressed. You got dirt and gold, and that's supposed to be hard to find the gold?! Try finding a nugget in the Sierra Nevada like that and you're in for a rude awakening. We have square nails and rusted metal from the 49ers everywhere. You're gonna dig up hundreds of pieces of junk and rusted metal the size of dandruff permeating the soil. And I own a zed. In california I've seen more gold found regularly with a fisher gold bug. It's the small pinponter coil (which minelab doesn't offer!) that works best in our gold country. I have two minelabs: the 3030 is excellent and but the zed has been disappointing. I wish I'd bought a fisher gold bug 2.

    • @Asone82
      @Asone82 6 років тому +3

      Why would he want to put a video of finding metal trash? Of course most of the time that is what we find in Australia. I don't get your whining. He films everything and deletes the trash videos. Who wants to look at them, nobody. Gold has been mined here since 1800's. They lived on the gold fields and what do you think? Everywhere we find their nails, rusty tin, old cans, boot tacks, horseshoes, etc.etc. A lot of the known areas have been gone over multiple times, you need a detector that will give signals deeper up to 3 feet and that is the GPZ 7000. Or if you want pinpointer get a 5000 with a sadie coil. Sell your zed and get an inferior detector just quit whining.
