HI Nancy! Thank you so much again for another great video, I have learned so much from your videos, also thank you for taking the time to upload all of your videos. All of them are EXCELLENT.
Love you Nancy. 🤗💕😸
This is so helpful and thorough! Really grateful for this :)
Thank you talented beautiful nice lady! Im getting into coincutting here... And im looking at vids already at tumbling, electroplating with gold, soldering clasps, etc..when all ive been doing is jumping the gun here to get to the finished product! When in reality i have to know first how the saw works! Lol.. That's like i want to be a mechanic before learning how to hold a wrench! Thank you.. I will suscribe and learn lots from you!😆
3 hours later..funny :) Thank you for ALL of your Wonderful and useful videos
lol @ 3 hrs later! Thanks for the tutorial. So glad I found you....great detail.
@Cuttlebone1 - Thank you, thank you. Your support is wonderful and I appreciate you taking the time to watch and correspond. Nancy
Great video! FYI - rubber cement will work great to stick two pieces of metal together! It holds them solidly while sawing but they are easy to pry apart when you're finished. Plus, the 'goo' can just be rubbed off with your fingers.
Great tips overall, but my fave is to saw 2 pieces together for earings and/or multiple pieces. Thanks so much.
Great tips, thanks Nancy!
You are so funny love your personality and your teaching.
Thank you for the wonderful video!
thank you very very much you are amazing i learning this and i wanna work with my cusine with this thank hope to see some more
Great video and talk through, thank you.
I'm with you Nanc, they "oughta" come up with a better system for sizing those blades... Good video!
Cont: look into a jigsaw with a metal specific blade or a band saw. Since I'm not experienced in using those tools to cut metal, check with a metal fabricator or a machine shop. You could also look into laser cutting. Good luck and let me know, if you wish, how you solved your problem. Take care Proedgars! Nancy
Nancy, hello. Could you please show the correct way to hold the jigsaw?
three hours later. haha I love your vids thank you
You are awesome!! So real and so funny
@strube1369 Thanks Strube. Got a few more coming out soon! Hope your holidays were way too exciting! N
I would imagine the blade size numbering is like the way surgical suture is sized. The "ought" is a way of saying "zero". With suture it's called "O" (or "Oh" I suppose). The number preceding the "ought" is the number of zeroes after the decimal point in whatever scale you're using. One-ought is 0.01, two-ought is 0.001, three-ought is 0.0001, etc. Each size is smaller by a factor of ten.
Loosen the frame length adjustment. Put the blade in and then expand the frame to tension the blade. Much easier.
Hi Nancy I am enjoying your videos. I noticed when you saw you do not use any lubricant on the blade. Any reason for that?
arspraestigium1 Did you ever get a response as to why some metalsmiths don't use lubricant when sawing? It seems to go better with a lube stick - but the waxy shavings interfere with visibility and I find myself sawing outside the lines... I was thinking that perhaps I should try liquid lube. I'm also trying to determine if I should anneal my sheet metal prior to sawing - when I saw 18 gauge copper I wonder if annealing might make the process easier and extend the life of my blades.... I can't seem to find an answer to that anywhere - so I guess it's time to start experimenting!
Hi Creative - absolutely great idea and I really appreciate you sharing your idea with my viewers. It just goes to show, when we love something enough, we find a way to make it happen. What is that saying? I'll probably massacre it here but, I think it is: necessity is the mother of invention. Thanks again. PS: I'd love for you to share other adaptations that you have made, if you'd like! Nancy
Thank you superepic! Have fun.
Nancy, I absolutely love your videos. The saw is not my friend and I have watched part 1 of your video and I saw somewhere where you recommended a book on sawing technique , but I can't for the life of me find the name of it or author- Could you please say again... thanks
What size blade do you recommend for 14ga jumprings?
How do us get blade properly put on this saw? Mine always a bit loose.

:)
Felicitaciones, desde Colombia eje cafetero, poco hablo ingles pero algo le entiendo.
What if i have to saw 1,7mm plate? Is there any advice, how to do it faster? Because it takes a lot of time and strength for me to saw it...
So, the gauge is between 13 and 14 g, I'd recommend either a size 6 or 7 saw blade. The test for success would be that it doesn't catch, doesn't take forever and cuts like butter. I don't know what size pieces you are sawing or the type of metal. I know that steel is difficult and slow going with a jeweler's saw - I cut blanking dies with one and hated it. There are mechanical means to cut metal. If you aren't using precious metal, cont. next comment
Plz focus on the different saws, and the cost.
Thank you.
Can these blades be used on wood?
WHAT IS BLADE NAME AND NO I SHOULD USE TO CUT THE BRASS PLATE TO MAKE NAME NECKLESS
@gmrgrl2600 Hi gmrgrl, well, honestly the cheap ones from India are not that great. They aren't made with the best steel, tend to break easily and they wear out quicker. You can get a pack of 144 for like 5.00 but, I bet if you had 12 good quality ones you'd never use the cheapies! I like the laser gold blades from Rio Grande Jewelry. They break less often and have even uniform teeth. They are 4.75 for 12. The laser German and Swiss blades are excellent also. Blades can make you happy or mad. N

You'd figure if the blade was flexible that it would resist bending, and wouldn't break as easily.
I have a c shaped saw, think it’s a dragon saw. Can’t get tight
thank you Nancy ! you are hilarious" ( the things you say , not you)
Hi, thank you for your video. Would you be interested in a custom made piece? I have a blank aluminum I need to saw but details hard for me. Pls if interested, I will send you photo, It is about 6mm wide and 5 mm long. Thank you.
