I'm thinking about buying one to last me a month until I got to army boot camp. There's a guy selling a silver one for 400 with 201K and 3 small problems to fix is worth it or should I buy something else?

DOES ANYONE LIKE THE MERCURY MILAN OR THE FORD FUSION COMPARED TO A TOYOTA COROLLA, OR NISSAN SENTRA AT THE SAME PRICE AND MILAGE? HAS ANYONE BOUGHT A CAR OR TRUCK AT A CAR AUCTION TO SAVE MONEY? I NEED A $5000 CAR, WHAT SHOULD i BUY?

LASVEGAS GEORGE always buy Ford for one reason and one reason only. Ford uses quality paint that will never rust or fade. EVERY SINGLE other car company uses cheap paint that will be gone in 8 years and rusting in 10 years

Good luck I thought I got really lucky After totaling my car I replaced it with with the Mercury Milan 2008, 4 cylinder( Which I think is a plus especially since we frequently have gas problems with prices going then in 2008 I think they went up to 450 or Sonya I will drive I paid 8 grand for myanmar's Justice year however 80 six-year-old men owned it and even if it was marked and it was kept in a garage so from 2008 it only had 36000 miles on it and it wasn't out of the street which would have you know the weather would have affected it I couldn't believe when I changed a Tire the lug nuts and whole wheel well there was not one bit of rust; it was like not one bit Actually The all wheel drive for cylinder was called the premiere because of the lower gas mileage as well as the all wheels drive and of course the sun roof and the mahogany and all the comfort you know the seats are really nice leather the cows you just gorgeous it was never used that's why it had 36000 and it was kept in a garage I would I was a little nervous fine and some people thought it was crazy till they saw it I have absolutely no problems with a yet but It means it doesn't matter if it's 36000 miles is still still old but I'm hoping for the best of luck And actually I still got a great deal because he had A lot of offers 3 while I was there had cash in hand l
people with asking price in cash in but I was the 1st one to see it And h honorable man and gave it to me 1st process he wouldn't take A deposit from. Because he won the sperm lottery. He happened to be the quickest one to the egg. Then happened to come from a father that made something out of himself. Probably got a decent deal on the vehicle. Definitely paid less than 4k on it as most Domestic cars dont hold their value for shit.
Then the kid is just spoiled af and thats probably due to his mother. Either way he is blessed to be giving a decent ride for his first ride. Also the problems they claimed to have gotten. Saying this car was a pos are problems due to improper maintenance and dogging the hell out of the vehicle. When I check all of the autovlogs about this particular vehicle. Surprisingly it has the most reliability out of any other car in its class. Which is surprising being that its a Ford product.
Ive only owned one Ford product and that was a Lincoln LS which was also a really nice and reliable car. But again didnt hold its value for shit. I paid 10k for a then 3yr old car in 2007. 5 yrs later it dropped to a 4k car even in prestine condition and low miles.
Which brings me to my interest in a Mercury Milan. My brother has a 08 Ford Fusion and its actually a decent little car. Gets great gas mileage and is reliable. So I found a 07 Milan V6 with 175k for only $1,999. So Ive been doing some research. For a 13 yr old car it only has 2 recalls that Ford will fix for free. Every Forum Ive found I have yet to find any post full of negative things in regards to the reliability of this vehicle. Which is unusual I admit, because as with the case of oh a good 80% of vehicles made. You'll always find a hand full of bad reviews or ppl claiming the car is full of defects, etc. It actually appears to be a reliable vehicle which has gotten me intrigued. In this guys circumstances he either lucked out and got a legit lemon. Which shit happens and sometimes the odds dictate 1 out of every couple thousands vehicles will be a dud. Or the car was beat to shit by an inexperienced teen as well as it wasnt being properly maintained. Either way I wouldn't be taking any car advice from a teenager period. No offence to the kid and not taking away from any knowledge he may have pertaining to vehicles. But i can assure you that he doesnt have any real world knowledge about how a combustion engine even operates. Nor does he have the yrs of experience dealing with vehicles. Something that is gained and earned from yrs of owning and repairing your own vehicles. I to was that inexperienced teen. But I had to actually get off my ass at 17. I worked and hustled my ass off to get me a 300zxTT. Like a typical teen who knew it all I got in way over my head. It was too much car for me. I didnt even know how to drive a manual ffs. But I jumped in it and taught myself bet your ass I did. That car was scary fast for a 17yr old too! Almost killed myself a few times. Burnt out that clutch too within the first 3 months of owning it.
But I taught myself and soon acquired the skills needed in order to properly operate and control such a beast of a car. I soon became obsessed and worked on that car every chance I could. Installing every bolt on imaginable. I learned a great deal about cars because of that thing. Even learnt about the sometimes headache of having to sell a vehicle. I ended up having to sell the damn thing 3 different times too! Anyways after that ride I got a Maxima that I fully modded. I lowered it 3 inches and invested thousands in it. Just to lose it because I let my mother get a title loan on it to help her out. At the time I felt guilty for moving out of the house and not helping my single mother with my siblings. I was in my early 20s and had been out of my mothers since I was 18. Anyways she fell behind on the title loan payment and i literally go to my apt to run upstairs and grab a drink. I come out and my ride was gone to never be seen again. That one hurt, the Lincoln LS i dropped 10k on I ended up totaling the damn thing. The design of the car made for it to cause more damage. In hindsight I should of kept the damn thing as it was in immaculate condition besides the front end damage it received from running into a car with ppl that had no insurance. They were ahead of me and decided do suddenly turn without a signal. Needless to say before i could react it was too late. I was still kind of young 23 to be exact. I got hustled by a person that buys junk cars. Only got a measely $350 for it. He claimed it was a total loss and there was no fixing it. That he was just going to crush it and scrap it. He definitely either parted it out which i should of done. The motor was still perfect. The interior was in excellent condition. I was just naive and inexperienced. It really just needed a new hood, hood latch, fenders, radiator, radiator core, headlights, a grille, and to get the unibody straightened out. I basically pissed away 10gs like that. But it never was a great investment anyways as they lost their value immensely anyways. I ended up finding a hell of a deal on a 2002 SS Camaro eventually. Case in point during the span of ones life you'll own on avg 15-20 cars easily. Im fairly mechanically inclined as ive basically done 90% of all repairs myself. So i can handle most of anything that can go wrong with purchasing an used vehicle. If you just go with your instincts, give the car a thorough inspection. Who cars what the seller thinks nor says. People genuinely suck, they are dishonest, will lie and deceive, so always go with your gut based off the yrs of knowledge and experience that you've ascertained over the yrs. Amd always do some research on any vehicles you may be interested in but have no knowledge about.

My first car was a 76 Pontiac Catalina that had water leaks, and the heat would not shut off. So if my parents bought me a 14 year old Mercury Milan and helped with repairs when I first got it ,I would have kissed them both more than once.
