The T-14 Armata will likely be outclassed by new tanks by the time it finally enters into active service, which doesn’t seem very likely in the next decade, much less so this year judging by the state of its production.
Yes. They are obsolete. A waste of Taxpayer money. This is a sad sign of having nothing but old people in charge, they still think MBT's are anything but target practice for properly armed infantrymen.
@@jonathancummings6400 Tanks have numerous anti-drone system installed in them, modern tanks have their turret and several short air-defense system to protect against incoming drones and anti-tank missiles.
I can't say anything about T-14 Armata but Altay will be in service in 100 years aprox. I am a Turk but true... We don't have a tested and working engine and transmission yet. K-poppers dealing to make , maybe theirs works on ours. The best thing not to go on a fight ever. Peace is a thing you may not know value before you lose. So much hate for the Armata. Nobody throws in their brand new toys that are still in the pre-production phase and are being tweaked for the needs of the military. Russians are much better mass producting less complex machines like the T-90M that most of their army knows how to use. There is no miracle weapon, war in Ukraine has proved as much. When faced against a 155mm artillery shell, an attack helo and modern AT-RPGS there is a serious case to consider about the cost effectiveness of every weapon.
According to military sources, the Armata will replace the T-34 in the Russian army. This very reliable sources also added that the implementation of the Armata will take between 30-40 years until the last breath of T-34s in the main arsenal

T-14 theoretically is ready to drive... theoretically it's already driving :D There are many other projects, that are on the go: AbramsX, KF51, K3. All of them is said will be ready somewhere until 2025.
The KF51 is more of a demonstrator vehicle similar to the Abrams x, it's built by Rheinmetall alone so the hull would still need to be redesigned as currently it's a leopard 2 hull obviously made by kmw, so it would take a good while before Germany swaps the leopard 2 out

WOW!!! The war in Ukraine has proven manned MBT's are obsolete, yet countries are still building new designs. Wasting their taxpayer's money, better suited for drone, and better quality anti mobile infantry type tech. All of this armor can be as easily destroyed as the Russian vehicles were, by well armed enough, and determined enough soldiers fighting guerilla style. I'm just shaking my head, it would have been as if after WW2, the USA had continued building new classes of Battleship instead of new classes of Aircraft Carriers. Tanks are actually more obsolete than Iowa Class Battleships. Only the USA, NATO allies, China and Russia and their main allies really have the ability to take them out. Since the same way Aircraft Carriers are protected, they could be protected, using Aircraft disable missile installations, and other ships to take out water based threats, like enemy Warships, mines, etc. Then maneuver the Battleship within range of its giant guns, and it would be as effective as in 1944, or the 1990 -1991 Gulf War.
Yeah this is not correct. MBT's still have a ton of usage if used correctly. The Russians were idiots in their training, tactics, maneuvering and assumption that Ukraine would be a push-over. Without enemy air superiority and high-tech AT teams the modern MBT is incredibly useful and deadly. With the next-gen APS being installed on most of them to defeat incoming AT systems, and proper troop support to suppress AT teams, even moreso.
@kilmer009 Seriously? If something needs that much protection, what's the point? Drones are the future anyway. It's why the USA Marines have abandoned the Abrams Tank. Tanks original use was as the Frontline attack unit in WW1, then replaced Cavalry, a great flanking unit, now it's a liability, requiring protection, bogging down, slowing an Army's advance. The Ukrainians did quite well without Tanks in the 1st year. They showed the future of ground war, mobile heavily armed infantry, with drone assets devastating the enemy troops from unexpected directions.

Better yet, what is a non high explosive fragmentation grenade?
Non explosive reactive armor is what the Russians use. It just means 'reactive armour' that has been in storage for so long that it no longer works.
