The ol' Ronsonol trick! I've been meaning to try that ever since I heard you mention it. She's a hungry girl too, like you said!

My first engine back in the 80's was one of these. Learning to fly with it was a nightmare because I could never get it to run right. Always died causing a dead stick, often just after take off. Destroyed two airplanes because of it. Thankfully I bought an OS Max, and persevered in learning to fly, which I did thanks to its reliability.

Great run ! Some K and B came with Irving carburetor and were very difficult to tune , Perry carburetor solved this problem ! Keep up the good work ! Enjoy your videos !!

That's one VERY thirsty 40 size engine.

The reason those engines dont prime well is because they have a Dykes ring. The o-rings might be dried out in the perry carb as well but might come around with some oil and fuel on them if they arent too dried out. Overall they are pretty good engines and can be had fairly cheap. A glow plug with an idle bar is pretty much a must with those.
Once you get it broken and lean out the needle it wont be pulling so much fuel .

Thank you, but this engine does not have a Perry carb. It is an Irvine carb as described and shown on the Quick Look video.
