These videos are just so awesome 👏🤓
Thank you for making these vids man I am in absolute small engine heaven every time I see and hear a small engine run.
I only have 3 nitro cars and all of them I take a great amount of care and time keeping them in good condition. 🤤👍
Happy happy just to see and hear these run 😊🤘
That is a C F Lee Modified muffler. He adds the larger outlet on the muffler. If the Engine is one of his modified PDP version - it will have his stamp on the top of the mounting lug on the left side of the engine. They are considerably louder than a stock muffler, but do add power.
got one of this with the Perry carb... got the carb with some damage and no muffler. so i installed an ASP .52 carb and muffler. got to slightly modify the muffler for fitting the hold bolts.... and runs beautifully!!
Second engine I had was a K&B 40. Once broken in, it hand started all the time.
I just ran one myself! Holy cow that sucker is loud!! I like it tho. Great idle.
I have this same engine on my Nexstar trainer and its a great match. Really helps overcome the big draggy airframe and add some scoot to it. mine has a Frank Bowman ring .
I always wondered what your neighbors think of all the engine running you do......
A tach works good when you point it at the shadow of the prop on the ground
The best motor to train your finger, not to damage it too much, is Veco-19, however the carburettor stinks but can be replaced.
For break in, you should add another three percent oil to get total oil up to 20% per K&B requirement. Morgan fuels do not have enough oil in them in my opinion. Most are 17%.
How did you like that carb? Did it live up to the hype I gave it?
Can you give some detail on that muffler. That is not stock. It looks like they took the original muffler, cut the tail end off of it and inserted a pipe in the back end of it. If that is the case, how deep does the pipe go? Maybe the muffler can be packed with scrubbing wool to quiet it up a bit. If you do that, do not go too crazy with it as the restricted exhause will run up cylinder temp.
The carb seemed fine. The pipe on the end of the exhaust does not protrude inside the muffler than I can see. I'm not sure how much detail I can provide since I cannot post pictures. I am not modifying this engine in any way.
