The PS2/PSP/Wii however still suffers alot when it comes to the side content and replayability. That being the crime wave/patrol missions having you fail the mission just because of terrible spawning. You have no idea what made you fail in the first place after completing one objective unless you take a good look at the awful spawns that happened; as it can tell you that the NPCs you need to defend or save from being kidnapped died from maybe fall damage or occasionally falling into the water. The collectibles are easier than the tokens in SM3 PC/Xbox360/PS3 (but that's like saying SM2 gets the leeway with its collectibles because it's SM2 when the tokens aren't that useful unless you count gaining hero points as a good benefit). Rage Mode/Adrenaline in the PS2/PSP/Wii version takes much longer to gain than the Red Combo Meter and Rage Meter in the PC/Xbox360/PS3 version 4. Rage Mode forces you to quit out of its powerful strikes with an immediate gameover sequence if you don't disable the black suit in time. 5. And the QTEs to remove the black suit can be a bit obnoxious under the circumstances and at awkward moments. At least you can activate Rage Mode whenever and wherever in the PC/Xbox360/PS3 version and not have it be forced onto you. Still, the 50 Spider Emblems version of the black suit negates this issue by allowing you to remove the black suit instantly with no QTE and Rage Mode can stay active a lot longer before depleting the bar back to 0, making it more reliable than the story-based black suit. You know, after you get the 50 Spider Emblems that only appear in the city once you finished the story missions. With no way of NG+ just like SM2. SM3 sort of allows you to have an NG+ by allowing you to play as Black Suit Spider-Man and allow you to replay the story missions again. Mainly because it introduced something I'm pretty sure no other game had at the time: Switching between Spidey's red and black suits at will during gameplay, where the suit would gradually make you stronger the longer you wear it, but at the risk of it killing you if you leave it on for too long, making the player strike a balance between the two suits. Let me just say this. Even with it's flaws, the one thing I will defend to my dying breath about Spiderman 3 is the Sandman. From the casting to the writing to the CGI and the iconic scene of him reforming as he adapts to his powers, everything about him in that movie was perfect. Agreed on all points. I don’t usually want to sit through that movie as a whole, but I damn well love the sandman scenes. I look up those clips on UA-cam every once in awhile still because they were so good and cut out a lot of crappy movie parts.
I remember really enjoying this game despite its flaws, particularly the timed missions and some insane difficulty spikes, but overall it was just actually fun for most part.

I mean, from what I remember that shit had a subplot with vampires. All I'm gonna say is that this is the only Spider-Man game in existence with all of these together: - Double Jumps - Charged Jumps - Fucking Amazing (and better controlled) Web-Zips - Swing Boosting (the last game to have it, sigh) - Air Tricks (stupid amounts of altitude) The only thing missing is the web-line climbing from ultimate. Other than that, it might very well be the most technical swinging in a Spider-Man game to date. It's this amazing system bogged down by a horrendous engine that, if remastered, would be mind-blowing. The fact that Spider-Man 2017 doesn't have ANY of these is criminal. The fact that the sequel is only adding gliding is more criminal.
I used to always play this on my Wii but always got scared when i had to fight multiple lizard enimies in the sewer because they were such tanks and so fast. Never got that far but have very good memories of it
not gonna lie, when i was a kid i really enjoyed the game. The game was frustrating at times, a lot of times, but thinking back now i only have fond memories of the game.
I personally think playing the Wii/PS2 version of this game is the superior way to play it. I especially love how they handled the black suits power. Whenever you went in rage mode, you could relentlessly beat the shit outta mobs with unblockable attacks, web yank any sized mob, and you're invincible. But such power came at price, a black aura slowly creeps over the screen, you could hear Spider-Man's heart beat from the tv (from the remote on the Wii version), and if it covers the screen it's game over if you don't remove the suit in time. Pure chills and serotonin bro.
I remember playing the kingpin boss fight and getting so pissed off at it I tore the game case in half, my reasons being that he glitches out of the map 3 times and 1 time I had him at 1 point of Health and he beat me
Yeah it's a pretty fun game that had a lot of passion put into it and was the first piece of Incredibles media outside of the movie; it also looked good for an early 2000s movie based game. I definitely wish THQ Nordic can do a remake of it with modern graphics, extra levels, an upgrade RPG system, alternate costumes, improved later levels, and a Syndrome boss battle
Funny thing is this game was made alongside the movie and developers had a script to know what was in the movie, so a lot of these scenes like the weird ending were at one point part of the movie 😂
I have a fun story on the Wii Version of Spider-Man 3, i'm sure this was really early in the game but i remember i tried to to go the Daily Bugle because the game told me to, the thing was that the building was too high to reach and on top of that, trying to crawl into the top did nothing, being the little shit i was i was determined to enter and activated the next mission even if i had to do the classic glitch of jumping on a surface it was slippery to reach...and i did it! Once i went to the building, the cutscene was in black, total darkness and the only thing i could hear was the voices of the character and the music and after that...the screen was completly dark and the only thing i had was the hud...so yeah, TL;DR is that the wii version of the game is just if not as broken as the PS3 and XBOX 360 versions...luckily it was a rented game tho but man...
The psp version was really impressive. It's objectively not a great game but in relative context it's pretty cool. It had open world web swinging in NYC on the go back then on a device weaker than the PS2.
I used to play these movie tie in games with my father since he was the one bringing me to see these movies when I was a kid, games like the bee movie, cloudy with a chance of meatballs, and g force will always have a special place in my heart as a good bad game that me and my dad bonded playing together
Honestly I loved this game when I got it as a young teen and thought everyone else did too. Only after growing up and getting on the internet did I realise people hated it.
As Terrible some aspects were for this game it was actually a unique fun experience too granted the Swinging was horrible and only gets good when your pass most of the game but when made this game so unique was the amount of Villains you had being Lizard, Scorpion, New Goblin, Mad Bomber, Rhino, Sandman, Kraven, KingPin, Venom and my favorite the giant Kaju Lizard who you absolutely destroy now the combat is really controversial but there is a huge learning curve that if your good at the combat is really satisfying with the super attacks and tons of combos you can do which actually will help you to be a complete pro granted you learn it the super attacks all get upgraded throughout the game you have ground smash sending enemies flying, your web swing where you can literally grab like 30 enemies it’s insane a quick pin ball to hit foes far away kinda sucks and web pull which pulls enemies into the air yeah you only need the web throw and ground smash it will help you destroy most of the enemies early game then when you get the black suits it literally a game changer you unlock special and brutal attacks one being the beat down where you tackle an enemy and punch them till they go to sleep and the Annihilator Punch my god If anything you should play this game for the Annihilator Punch it is by far the most broken move in any spider man game to date it’s a simple execution to perform just three lights and One Heavy and you unleash a Punch forward that literally hits everything doing the most damage and sending enemies flying it’s quite fun honestly you can really abuse it and speed run Kraven to the points he’s a Joke and the Giant Kaju Lizard after throwing into a generator you can actually damage him with the Annihilator Punch before the Sheild even goes down it also sends The Kaju Flying and looks cool as hell but yeah point is it’s broken and I haven’t even got to the Rage mode in the Black suit you bulid a meter that when fully charged you can unleash a Red Glowing Aura and beat the crap out of your foes each hit sends enemies flying and is unblockable so you be using this to wreak havoc while it barely last like 15 seconds you can end fights in 5 seconds with it as all your Super Attacks Are Hella Amplified the Ground Pound gets upgraded to Ultimate EarthShaker which does even more insane damage most effective against bosses and your web pull is upgraded to grabbing every enemy and smacking them back and forth even can grab some bosses with the Black Suit Annihilator Punch and Rage mode Super Attacks your a killing Machine if you abuse it as Kraven can be blitzed by the Annihilator Punch the boss aren’t really easy but aren’t super Challenging either except for Kingpin who blocks all your attacks except the Rage Ones making his boss fight time consuming and difficult but there’s a trick you can perform counters if your attack say kingpin with the Annihilator Punch on its own the Three Lights and Heavy won’t really hit but if you do three lights and the wait for the kingpin to counter giving you the option to counter by pressing the Heavy button will perform special Counters like the Haymaker which sends Kingpin Flying with this the boss if more fun and again you can abuse it but that’s all I got to say the Combat is fun If you don’t suck at it and the QTEs are really funny when you fail them over all spider man 3 is a game hated by many but is fun if you enjoy Engaging Combat and to see the Spider Man Stories
Also I still genuinely love this game. The PS2 magazines all used the next gen version for screenshots, so that PS2 version let me down so much. The Xbox 360 game was incredibly rough, but it still felt like a massive leap forward. Also, until the Insomniac games, this was still the best free roam.
For once I don't care what anyone and I mean anyone thinks about on a game, this was absolutely amazing as a kid, the story compared to the movie was 100% better and was actually fun at most times, were the graphics the best nah but it was still decent
I grew up with this one, and whatever critical points are made here I will always see it as a superior Spider-Man 2 PS2 and the Spider-Man game that defined my childhood

@@CupA-Coffee Another detail is I think Harry. He says on PS3 his fate is unknown but on the PS2 version, Venom throws him into Sandman as explosives are put inside him, dispersing Sandman and killing Harry in the process. @@CupA-Coffee I have no memory of Lizard apart from investigating his lab and chasing him in the sewers and having to run from a threat inside there but I believe you. It's such a shame as I adored Spider-Man 2 and really liked the 2002 Movie Game. I had such high anticipation for the Spider-Man 3 Game. Then I played It. QTEs everywhere and really janky and slow movement. Dull visuals of noting but browns, greys and such. It was just a disappointment that left Me feeling with... "That was It? Okay then...". Such a big disappointment compared to what came before. Only thing I can commend It for was the City at least had an entire Subway beneath It a whole year before GTAIV. And the Soundtrack. Mainly the Arsenic Candy Girl Theme. But other than that, Spider-Man 3 Is one of My least favourite Spider-Man Games.
Uncharted was ahead of its time, as with all Naughty Dog games moving forward. Most 3rd Party games did not look nearly as good as that first Uncharted by the time it came out.
I will not be silenced, I will not accept this batman begins slander, that game was amazing, played it 5 to 6 times over and over and never got tired of it
As bad as this game might be, I had the Wii version of it.... So webswinging with the Wii remote and nunchuck was the first time that it actually felt like you were using both arms to do it, and that was actually a fun/unique experience!
Honestly a surprise mate, do people realize this probably has one of the best combat systems for a spiderman game?like the sheer amount of combos you could pull off is way above the amount for most spiderman games, not to mention its one of the only 3D Spiderman games where's you can fight morlunn
When I was in elementary school I remember having Spider-Man Friend or Foe on 360, Web of Shadows on DS, Spider-Man 2 on GBA, and this game on 360 and I used to think that it was my favorite Spider-Man game
Including additional villains into Spider-Man 3 seems like it should be simple. Just have Harry hire or create some guys to fight Peter before he goes after him as the Goblin and Eddie can try taking pictures of them in the process of taking Peter's job at the Bugle. Maybe Peter even mistakes Sandman for one of Harry's men if you don't want to go the angle of making him Ben's killer for whatever reason.
I remember i would climb to the top of the towers just to jump down for the ground crack animation while wearing the black suit cause it was so badass back in the day.
I loved this game but my biggest issues were firstly is pressing the right buttons in exact time like at first it was easy but as the game went on it felt like the game expected from me that to right at the exact when it shows me the button and i couldn't catch up so i had fight the same bosses again and again until i finally did the right combination and the second issue may have a glitch but when i was playing as a harry against sandman for some reason Harry wasn't moving when i used the sticks he was moving only when i moved the dualshock so in order to fly high or left had to raise or move it left so basically i had to move my controller in order to do something
As a 10 year old kid... this was my favorite game....

The only thing missing is the web-line climbing from ultimate.
Never got that far but have very good memories of it
As a kid, I would just go the top of the tallest building and have Spidey jump off and go splat... That was the most fun thing about the game.
I swear every video this guy makes is Comedy GOLD
not gonna lie, when i was a kid i really enjoyed the game.
Pure chills and serotonin bro.
bro felt emotion from a screen 😂

I remember playing the kingpin boss fight and getting so pissed off at it I tore the game case in half, my reasons being that he glitches out of the map 3 times and 1 time I had him at 1 point of Health and he beat me
As a kid I played a lot of the incredibles on the GameCube. I personally thought that game did a good job with the levels and the boss fights
Hate to say it. I loved both versions of Spider-Man 3. I never understood the issues with it. It’s just fun.
Oh poor naive child
Ya me to I grew up with it now I replay the story is ok the combat is fun the swinging is a masterpiece so for me a good 8/10 game
Ultimate spiderman is one of the single most underrated superhero game ever made. That game was my childhood.
I swear the Batman Begins game was actually pog
You can’t deny that the Soundtrack is fire tho 🔥I also like the street level aspect with all the gangs and Kingpin.
I remember playing the one on the DS, the story got really weird. It was a bunch of characters and plot lines younger me didn't understand
That failed QTE at the beginning was like PTSD of when he started losing his powers in 2😂😂😂
I really loved this game!
At least it was better than TASM 1 & 2!
I remember doing every combo moves when I was playing.
Spider-Man 1 was basically a 3rd entry in the Neversoft Spider-Man series made into a movie tie in
And the PSP version of Spider-Man 2 is like a 4th entry!
Funny thing is this game was made alongside the movie and developers had a script to know what was in the movie, so a lot of these scenes like the weird ending were at one point part of the movie 😂
It's very funny how Alex said Venom was in the movie for only about 10 minutes, when it reality, he's only in it for about 3 to 4 minutes.
My favourite part is when venom says it’s venomin time 👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯
6:33 Alex you have no idea how much that made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
i love this game but i prefer the film, i wish it had more film missions
5:12 was the absolute perfect way to start the actual review off. I can't stop laughing at poor Toby being blasted through a wall
Watching this video 30sec after it's uploaded... I have no life.
9:35 Which, despite him being a normal human man Fisk somehow survives.
Honestly I loved this game when I got it as a young teen and thought everyone else did too. Only after growing up and getting on the internet did I realise people hated it.
Same
OH MAN I LOVE THIS GAME! I replay it like every 2 years. It's sad that with each windows update it's harder to play it tho
Regardless of what you think about this game, you have to admit that the soundtrack slaps.
Scorpion's theme is fire.
The OST is absolutely amazing
mad bomber part 2 💀💀💀
The black suit theme from the ost is genuinely unnerving
I legitimately had that spiderman TV with the DVD player in it. I feel so validated
Bought this when it first released right after watching the movie in theatres when I was in first grade, I absolutely love this dumpster fire
I don't know if I was an idiot but I loved spiderman 3 as a kid
everyone did
same, idk why hes hating
@@MatkopF348cuz spiderman 2 was 100 million times better lol
Spider-Man 2 had better be nailed once again by Insomniac!
This game looks and plays a hell of a lot better in my decades old memories...
2:21 sent me into a laughing fit. Completely blindsided me.
Great edit.
Also I still genuinely love this game. The PS2 magazines all used the next gen version for screenshots, so that PS2 version let me down so much. The Xbox 360 game was incredibly rough, but it still felt like a massive leap forward. Also, until the Insomniac games, this was still the best free roam.
This was my second spiderman game after ultimate I loved the hell out of this game I still do
This game genuinely has my favorite Spider-Man game OST, so many bangers, the venom and arsenic candy themes bop HARD
What do you mean everybody I love the game
your attention to details always awakens something in me, keep up the good work!
I might be in the minority, I played this as a kid, I had a lot of fun with this game back then
This game was the only reason I'd ever heard of Morbius' existence before the movie came out.
It's always a good day when Alex Webb uploads 🔥
Bruh this is The Spiderman game.
I loved this one as its one of the only Spiderman games i played aside from the 2018 and MM.
For once I don't care what anyone and I mean anyone thinks about on a game, this was absolutely amazing as a kid, the story compared to the movie was 100% better and was actually fun at most times, were the graphics the best nah but it was still decent
Your edits are powerful my guy.
Batman Begins game is actually good.
James franco didn't voice harry in spider-man 1 and 2 only in spider-man 3.
I grew up with this one, and whatever critical points are made here I will always see it as a superior Spider-Man 2 PS2 and the Spider-Man game that defined my childhood
You are correct, it is a superior spiderman 2 👍
@@MrSkullMerchantnope it's way worse than spiderman 2, little child

I love the sandman birth sequence in Spider-Man 3
Did anyone play the PSP version of SP3? It was actually so good. Better than SP2 on PS2 I thought
Man, don't say that, Spider-Man 2 retards are gonna kill you for saying that!!
My favourite feature was how the details of the ground would disapear no matter how high you were.
Seriously just hang from a web 1 foot from the ground and watch the floor turn to blob
Spider Man 3, the movie, is an absolute masterpiece. The game tho, an absolute dumpster fire, full of glorious memes😂🤣. I swear this game still cracks me up to this day, especially the “I’m going to die” scene😂🤣.
Glad to see you back, Alex🙂👍.
Spider-man 3 the movie, was ahead of it’s time. Back then they criticised it for having too many villains and now they praise nwh for having too many villains. Goes to show how stale the world is.
@@johnakkman9993Don't compare. Venom was rushed, the NWH villains were not
@@simaopinto8521they were rushed
@@johnakkman9993 yup, exactly. The only thing that still sucks is Topher Grace is Eddie. That’s just as bad as Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
Edit. NWH is a different context than Spider-Man 3. Don’t agree with that part though
Spider-Man 3 the game was just ALWAYS average. It’s not garbage & no where NEAR the worst Spider-Man game in a general standpoint.
Content Creators are getting ahead of themselves & need to speak for themselves.
I mean this dude said Ultimate Spider-Man is a forgotten masterpiece… in the same video. LOL yea… no one has forgotten it.
Can't believe that this game managed to make Venom buff but the movie made him a stick figure.
I LOVE this game.
Gross
You are disgrace to society
I legit refreshed and saw u finally put the Spider-Man 3 video up Alex, i went like yessss before I clicked on it. Ur edits be cracking me up man 😂
OK, what's the name of the song at 0:44
angel of the morning by juice newton
“Since Peter is apparently swinging off the ghost of uncle Ben” 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣 i remember playing that as a kid and going
“.. huh” 😂
It probably looked that ugly because of that fact it was on PS2 on top of it being a tie-in game, and the PS3 architecture being what it is.11yr old me at the time loved it back on the PS2. But man, since you acknowledged the underrated gem Ultimate Spider-Man is, that's an inevitable video I cannot wait to see.
Yeah I even remember that some of the stuff in the ps3 version wasn’t in the ps2 version like the bomb disarming on os2 u just threw it and webbed it’s not doing a mini game and I think the ps2 version was way better than the one on ps3
@@CupA-Coffee Another detail is I think Harry. He says on PS3 his fate is unknown but on the PS2 version, Venom throws him into Sandman as explosives are put inside him, dispersing Sandman and killing Harry in the process.
But yeah I do remember liking the PS2 version a lot when I was a kid, Idk about PS3 but I know even Morbius was a boss fight on PS2 which surprised me he wasn't mentioned in the video given his full Movie review of the same name.
@@TheGravityShifter yeah I remember that happening to Harry in the ps2 Version also I’m not sure if this is in the ps3 version but my favourite boss on the ps2 version was the lizard when u fight him in his mega lizard form it was pretty tense when u had to turn your back to him to do a button mashing thing for the generators and u just here the thuds as he is charging at u and your like shit shit hurry up hahaha
@@CupA-Coffee I have no memory of Lizard apart from investigating his lab and chasing him in the sewers and having to run from a threat inside there but I believe you.
Mobius (since I mentioned him) on the other hand was a pain even though the concept was cool, you could only fight him in the day time during the fight.
Correct me if I'm wrong if you recall... But wasn't this one of the few games ever made that actually had proper seasons? I remember times when trees would be vibrant and full of life and other times those same trees would have their leaves gone. Can't recall snow though.
@@TheGravityShifter yeah u are right about the seasons it was pretty cool and yeah u chase lizard then u fight hon in his normal form the At some point after u fight leaven cause he is hunting the lizard then after that u fight mega lizard
First video of yours i’ve seen it’s amazing! 😂
The PS2 version is better because Morbius
Speak for yourself, I really enjoyed the entire trilogy and replay through those games every 2-3 years or so.
What a great way to start my day. A BOAT LOAD OF FKING NOSTALGIA
Wow can’t believe this came out the same year as uncharted, strange how the faces still look like that
Uncharted was ahead of its time, as with all Naughty Dog games moving forward.
Most 3rd Party games did not look nearly as good as that first Uncharted by the time it came out.
... I just got to the part where we saw the SML house and Lance swats a mug with a baseball bat... WHAT THE FU-- XD
Not Morlun but morbius lol, a Morlun boss fight would have to have a whole game to himself
dunce didn't voices mary jane in spider-man 1 and 3 only in spider-man 2.
Am i the only one who enjoys spider-man 3?
Bro my childhood was spiderman 3 i will forever love it despite its flaws
@@fatkid1965 Fr bro💪
Eh, my went bonkers on the PS2. Traded it for other games. Saved my childhood from another terrible video game adaptation.
"Giant lizard"cracks me up everytime
The Captain Price guinea pig killed me🤣
I just remember loving the Lizard mission lmao. Taking photos of those derpy ass mohawked lizards
People need to know how good this was as a Handheld game on PSP !
I remember i would climb to the top of the towers just to jump down for the ground crack animation while wearing the black suit cause it was so badass back in the day.
Ghostbusters 2009 is still the greatest movie tie in game, that I ever played at least
Thats not based on a movie. It's based on a property.
Now days they are making movies based off video games. Rather than just making games based off the movies.😊❤🎉
5:58 LESSGOO I GET A NEW CARRR
