Probably the most optimal option would be any type of online work remotely from the PH, for American or European companies……they will provide the salary range you’re accustomed to……or start a business with help of ur Filipino family……..
I've known a few expats that went without an ongoing income in place and everyone of them has regretted it. Generally whatever online income you can get started while here in your home countries. That way you'll have a good idea of the amount you'll have to live on there.
I'm a big electronics/software nerd but not a professional one. Love Linux, building websites (again not a pro), spread sheets, smart phones, tablets etc... All those things are hobbies that would be sweet to monetize when I retire. I should probably try it while I'm here and see how it goes.
Hello @Gordon B ... I am SURE that you will be able to find a niche with your skills. The only difference between amateur and professional is if you get paid or not. That first fee that you collect will make you a PRO!
I'm a chef. soI know I can't make money working for someone else. Luckily I don't need to . I love running a kitchen I'm hoping to find a property where I can have a restaurant in my house. 😎
Hello again @Yuppiemike ... you should have NO problem setting that up. There are a lot of American's doing that. You'll need to do it all legal, list everything in your wife's name, pay taxes and all that kinda stuff, and enjoy yourself. 😀👍🏻
Not so sure I can monetize my background job, I don't think monetizing nuclear weapons is legal 🤣🤣 With that new law in the Philippines, I think a foreigner finding work will be come FAR more difficult, online will be the best and maybe only way. Great info and gives people food for thought on how to proceed. As always I hope you and your family have a great day Boss.
Hello @Javier ... Sure... I have a recording studio setup that I use for recording music, making videos and from time to time, I have done voiceover work making tutorial and marketing videos for clients. I hope that answers your questions, just let me know. 🙂👍🏻 Thanks!
I understand the VISA requirements but, how are you taxed? You are American. Live in Philippines. But work locatiin appears to be United States. Do you have to pay Philippines income tax and American both?
I’ve researched this a bit myself previously, so I’ll summarize what I found. If your income originates from outside of the PH, there will not be any income taxes. If you’re an American domiciled outside the US, you don’t have to pay IRS any income taxes while working abroad, which allows you to exclude income up to about $108K, you would then pay US income tax on anything above the $108K….. I suggest u do some research on the matter yourself, don’t just take my word for it…..good luck!
Hello @MGySgt K ... actually, you are correct, and @Michael Fung is also correct, although I was not aware of the up to $108K exemption, and I'll be looking in to that. My work/income is U.S. based, and I have filed all of my income the same as if I were living in the U.S. 👍🙂
Hello @Storm Chaser ... I think it is ENTIRELY realistic. You will be looking for freelance work, or employment that will be done remotely. For instance, you could work as an online tech support. With tools like teamviewer and others, you can easily perform tech support for individuals. Or as an employee you might work as a tech support rep, providing support over the phone. If you're a software developer, again you can work remotely. These might not work for you, but maybe give you some food for thought. 🙂
@@G5Philippines When you say remotely, you mean work for an American company out of the US or Cebu City or a Phillipines company working from an apartment there?
@@stormchaser419 you will want to work with or for a U.S. based company. In your Cebu City apartment. You will not fare as well working for a company based in the Philippines. To do that requires special work VISA's for foreigners which is not easy to acquire. You can also use freelance websites such as Upwork and Fiver. I talk about this in the video. 😄
@@G5Philippines Do you think it best to get hired on in the US with a company looking to relocate people open to moving to Manilla say or interview with a US based company in the Philippines itself and tell them I want to work in Cebu or Manila. Next question. I'm 56 look 47. Never married. Don't like Western feminists. Good social skills. Well dressed. What age gap keeps you from looking shall we say creepy and next question what 35 to say 45 year old Filipina woman would be ok with somebody my age as a first time marriage prospect. Some of these large age gaps, I don't want that. They just strike me as too different. College educated Cebu women in their mid 30s I bet are all taken. You touched on some things in the video.
@@G5Philippines Ok just checked listings. Google, Amex and other large companies outsource work to Manila so technically are you still on the Google payroll or that other company is Manila based doing Google work.
Hi @Louie Watson ... actually, that's not true. All of the ideas that I mentioned come from real-world examples of friends of mine. We all have our individual knowledge and skills, as well as our own passions. It's up to us to take those skills and passions and turn them into ways to earn income. My intent is pure in that I just want to encourage you that it can be done, and you can do it too. Don't limit yourself to the ideas that I give, use your own imagination and go for it! 😀👍🏻
Got a serious question about Filipinas, and I am not trying to get anyone in trouble for telling the truth lol. I got a half Filipina, half Italian gf. She was born in the US, but her mom was born in the Philippines. One thing that is really annoying about her is that she complains constantly. I thought maybe that was just her American side because she is a leftist and that has been the course of things in the last few years. But her mom complains all the time too. Now I know the apple does not fall far from the tree in most instances, but it got me to wondering if that is the norm in the Philippines from women in particular. So my question is how often do you see Filipinas complaining about everything?
Hello @Zero Boundaries ... well, that's an interesting question... and my very honest answer is no, I do not see Filipinas complaining about everything. In fact, its quite the opposite. I can speculate on some of the why's, but that might get me in trouble. 😆But, if its a concern, and it defintely seems to be, I highly recommend exiting the relationship sooner than later. There is no reason to tolerate an overly fussy mate. That will just lead to frustration and dissention in the relationship. But that's just my humble opinion. 🙂👍

Hello @Phils to Phx ... I absolutely agree. I definitely have needed the ongoing income to maintain. Growing family! Growing costs! hahaha! 😆😅

Hello there @Eric Taylor ... thanks for the commentary, and yes... online work is practically the only option. 🙂
Hello @PineapplePalmtree, I talk about some ideas in the video. 🙂👍🏻
I have a passion for health & fitness, not sure how I can monetise this in the Phil’s?
Hello again @billy ... I think that's a great idea. You could do personal training on youtube for other American expats! 🙂👍🏻
Voiceover work? Could you elaborate on this for me. Thank you, G5

As somebody that is going into IT work, how realistically can I meet and marry a Filipina woman and work in say Cebu City? I just don't see it.

Man, photography doesn't pay in the US it certainly won't pay anything in Phillipines. Neither will crafts. Can't live on any of this.

I will say everyone is different. My suggestion is to talk to your Filipina about her complaining and see where that take you.
If she is complaining Everyday, then the answer is NFL. (Not For Long) because you should've already kicked her to the curb.
