1nterwebs I agree. It actually kills the big "reveal" between Max (Bailey) & Noodles. This may be the only scene in the 4 plus hour version that I thought cutting was necessary. Still...facinating to see.
i can't believe this was cut. it may not be an absolutely necessary addition to the plot of the film, but it's definitely shocking to see how powerful and corrupt the union leader has become, especially considering how he wanted to be completely straight and legit early on.
What an amazing film, Despite a terrible start, like Blade Runner or even Heavens Gate, History has proven that you can't hold a classic movie back. Should have cleaned up at the oscars.
I don't know, maybe I'm too attached to the 229 minutes version, but I think the film turned out to be better without this scene. I mean, it' a good scene and it does explain some things better, but I think I prefer the final encounter between Noodles and Max with plot exposition kept to a minimum. It's all about emotion.
This scene is a game changer and removes all the mystery from the last 20 minutes...

I love the way the melody "Night and Day" would come in during various parts of the movie
Brilliant scene proves that noodles isn’t dreaming
I need this film in the 5 hour version it's an outstanding film as it is but with all the deleted scenes put back in wow can't wait till they do it 👍
Best movie ever
You can just see the envious hate in his eyes!

BEST SCENE EVER
I never bought this scene when i saw the new pieces .James woods character never would have folded to this guy!
I see why they cut this out really wasn't needed but awesome to see.
This scene was in the movie when i saw it.
Jimmy Conway O'Donnell and Senator Bailey
These restored scenes look grainy and not as good quality. Is there a noticeable difference in the actual movie?
Apparently there is a difference.
What's called the song at the end of the video?
Night & Day by Cole Porter
