    I love it! It does sorta sweep you up and carry you along, I can imagine it getting faster and faster the longer you play if you don't hang onto something!

    A tune that rolls out in a way that makes you play it faster than you should would describe cold frosty morn, personally. I wonder if this tune is about my native snake river. Probably not, seeing as I'm from the West US and, "snake" is probably one of the most common names attributed to a river.

      It was written by Peter Lippincott, over on Banjohangout he's quoted as saying "I just came up with it noodling around one day, oh so long ago. String bands in St. Louis where I lived took it to Galax and other fiddle venues and it caught on. Who knew? I named it after the Snake River, but other than sounding like a cool name there is no added significance. I also wrote an influential contra dance by the same name at about the same time. Doubling down on a good name I guess.”
      Not sure if there is a Snake River near Galax?
