It's amazing how simple an old mechanical planter is compared to all of the bells and whistles that are on the new ones. Good luck with your corn crop.
When you finish planting, coat the fertilizer augers in used motor oi each yearl to stop them from corroding any more. That's what we did with our 7000 planter.
You're probably already aware of this but make sure you've got the planter lifted out of the dirt before coming to a full stop. Otherwise the tiny bit of backwards motion when it stops will plug your tubes and you'll be walking around behind the planter talking to yourself.

I forgot to comment on your last video when you got the massey lawn tractor going, you got it started and took off driving around, fluffy was planning being on first ride,
It seems to me you should look for a Massey thats around 65 Hp 70 hp,lighter in weight and with a cab, with smaller 13 inch tires? for pulling that planter around ,,that massey to heavy and compacts the ground,,near the planter line roll

@@jtsbarnngrill6873 u put out a sign saying u have sweet corn. They will come. 3-4 dollar u-pick 5-6 dollars JJ-pick. Do a 2 acre spot and see what u make. It will surprise u!!
I guess I don’t follow? Should it not be on 30’s? It doesn’t appear to be modified. I’ve seen a lot of these in my area in 6 and 8 row and they’re all running 30s.
A normal john deere 7000 4 row planter can't narrow down to 39 inch rows, the 2 outside units will hit the wheel mounts. They have to be modified to got narrower. The john deere 7000 conservation model will narrow to 30s. So your planter has probably had a custom medication. If I had to guess
Can you do a equipment tour. And if you want to see one like this comment

JT you only lose money on corn when you plant it and spend more $$$ growing it than harvesting it... looks like a great planter to pull behind the 165 soak that chain in diesel and that way you got spare chains... damn that 1105 looks good...
I’ll do that! I haven’t tossed it yet, can’t hurt to give that a shot!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873you might want to check the row spacing and make sure its 30" for corn. beans they tend to slide em narrower.... than corn needs to be.... also you gonna cultivate that corn or spray the snot out the weeds?
It is set to 30’s, I double checked that. This will most likely be sprayed.
Keaton seed firmers cheap up grade prevents seed bounce for even stand😊
Make it u in volume😂
Is it 30 or 38 inch row setting??
That is 30
If u want to make money planting corn?? Plant sweet corn. We aren’t planting any corn this year. First time I can ever remember.
I’ve considered sweet corn, but not sure how I would market it where I’m at
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 u put out a sign saying u have sweet corn. They will come. 3-4 dollar u-pick 5-6 dollars JJ-pick. Do a 2 acre spot and see what u make. It will surprise u!!
an ultrasonic cleaner would have loosened that chain I bbet
I bet it would!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873they're too cheap not to have one, under 200 bucks for a good sized one
Is that palnter set to 30 inch rows?
Yes it is.
I'd be curious to see how they modified it to go to 30s.
Sorry, 30 inch rows not 39.
