We talked a lot about how essential it is to have a lawyer to make sure you're covered. We touched on dealing with independent artists vs artists that are signed. Many producers worry about their music being released and the inability to collect payment from multiple sources. We drop some gem resources on different ways producers can get paid and how to make sure you are getting paid!

Laced Bacon fair trade man he gets attention we get information, if he good many producers will hit him up
Producing music for the rap game is the hardest to deal with..That's why we need to expand to other markets where they handle their business.
It’s the same business
@@MassiveBoyVentures True but the people move different in depending the business of the genre. Rappers always want the handshake stuff and paper work.
Gotta Perfect your business while perfecting your craft
Bruh I swear everytime I come watch producergrind I always learn something. Thank you for uploading these. 🙏
To answer that question he was having trouble with; Splitsheets. There are plenty of templates you can download and it is very necessary. Especially when you're independent. everything will be in writing and you can use it in court if need be.
Sign your asses up with ASCAP and hire an entertainment Attorney/Lawer if you can. Labels cannot keep ignoring an organization that makes sure you get paid your royalties nor can they ignore a lawyer especially. This is basic info
back in the day i ainn know it was expected i had to learn on my own bc back den even today mfs rather tell em what they aint doin but wont give em game
Can hardly wait to collaborate with Spiffy and have some of these conversations
Dat boy itch'in off tha drank hard.😆

Y’all gotta get henny the bizness he just got one on rozay new project he is like chopsquad dj and Karl fowkles combine with the information much love to y’all grind mane
That Karl Attorney is a joke. Did you not know that kid just graduated from law school only *TWO* Years ago? Like what the fuck does he know about the Music Business? I wouldn't even trust any legal advice from some one with only two years of experience that is barely scratching the source. I look for experienced Entertainment Attorney's with at least 10+ years or more experience. Many of them I've talked to have been practicing law for over 25 years.
"U ain't training wit no scale is u?"...felt dat
I like how to camera zooms in on whos talking.

Does people really understand the role of *Music Producer* aka *Record Producer?* jusr saying. I mean a Beat Producer that makes beats and sells them aren't really Record Producer's as they are really Songwriter's like Veteran Record Producer / A&R *Ron Fair* said. A real Producer is like an Ochestrator that works with the Vocalist in the studio that oversees the entire direction of a song to its final mix. Most Record Producer's run and own thier own studio when an Artist hires them for the engagement of their service's. *Ron Fair, Linda Perry* and *P-Diddy* are examples of Record Producer's that don't make beats as they are Ochestrators. *Ron Fair* is like the modern *Quincy Jones* as hes also a String Arranger, Conductor and a Musican. *Dr. Dre, Pharrell Williams, Teddy Reily, Scott Storch, Timbaland, Oak Felder* are a combination of Ochestrators that sees the entire thing all the way through that has input and a Composer that composes the beat as they are acutally *Hybrid Record Producer's*, they don't just only make beats. They don't even sell beats either as the Advances they charge is for the entire recording project per Master Recording that comes out of the Artist's recording budget as an all in-deal that goes against points on the Master Recording based on the PPD (Published Price to Dealer).
DUDE SHUT UP ALREADY WITH POSTING YOUR RANTING AND RAVING ON EVERYONES VIDEOS. YOU CLOWN ASS FOOL.
@@ampstudios Reply back to me again I will block you as you reach to the point of harassment. Go find something else better to do with your time and stop following me around like a little kid whinning.
You’re right...truthfully speaking I’ve been in this game since 95, we had to become true producers, I graduated from full sail knowing all aspects of the studio environment, let’s be honest now days everyone’s a glorified programmer...we also had to understand the business. Younger cats have to learn the craft in and out, that’s why they play a lot of young beat makers like they do, and most are too high to comprehend so they get got.
@@producedbykaeph Yup. Teddy Reily and Dr. Dre mentored and trainned a lot of the earlier Producer's comming up esp Scott Storch being under DREs wing and Pharrell, Timbo, Rodney Jerkins under Teddy Reily wing. They taught them the ropes or recording producing producing songs from top to bottom instead of being just a Track maker. I had a similar opportunity when I first started out making beats back in 2004 as I at the time, I didn't know what it ment to be a Producer until I met my very first Artist back in 2008 that was an experienced R&B singer that previous worked with P-Diddy and additoned in Making The Band. He became my Mentor and introduced me to recording and vocal arrangment as I was fairly new to recording at the time. He taught me how to cut vocals, structure songs, stacking vocals basically taught me the ropes of producing finished songs from beginning to end opposed to just making a beat and sending it out to people. I'm glad I made that transition as it makes a big difference when you see it all the way through out the final mixing and mastering stage of the end product. I was able to train my ears through the years working with varies of local Artist's and use to be an In-house Producer back in 2013. I have alot of Studio experience now working with the Vocalist.
the white dude needs a new barber dam lmao
💀💀💀💀
The music business is fucked up
He don’t know wats goin on.
Wym? He slow?
IS AGE A FACTOR IN SELLING BEATS
Nope, it just means you have to be more careful because people will try to take advantage of you being young, but if you are smart remember to take time to read everything, don't get excited over an offer of money until all the paperwork is done. It sounds lame I know, but that's gonna cover your ass in case an artist does try to finesse you
No
He dont no shit
If you don’t own 100% you’re fucked
this interview was cringy asf , idk if it was the way he answered the questions or the questions being asked ..
