I never expected a mental crisis in a shiny hunting video. Then again, shiny hunting is sometimes the most painful thing you can possible do in pokemon.

I LOVED the way you presented this video going between both games - the pacing just felt great going between hunts, and it was super cool to see parallels like the Wingull hell and the final battles!! Awesome video all around, and I didn't expect the whole cheating admission/talk about faking shiny reactions in the middle!!! My take has always been that what you do in a game is always personally up to you, and honesty is the most important policy at the end of the day! There used to be a BIG issue with fake shiny reactions in the full odds circle back in the day (with a crazy discovery about Platinum starters that exposed a handful of shiny Platinum starter videos as fake in 2018), and it's cool to see someone talk some about the body language and stuff that goes into a fake reaction. (and thanks for the Absol shoutout LOL)

Well actually Megas were never real. They were just pokemon putting everyone in a room with neutralizing gas, and we still live in their experiment. Megas were just a hallucination.

I love when a channel I just started binging releases a new video.
I've gotten back into shiny hunting because of you and managed to get Zekrom, Entei, Latias, Regigigas, and Palkia in the past week in ultra moon
Good job on having the balls to actually own up and self reflect in the video itself, rather than after its uploaded. Definitely makes u more credible in the future
Funnily enough im doing the story latias. Takes about 3m 30s a reset. Currently at 1290 resets . The curse of wingull is also funny to me since when i was horde hunting aron in oras i got 6 shiny female zubats before getting a single aron, hitting 7068 hordes. 35k+ encounters to get
3 minutes 30 seconds, thank you. I didn't actually check that myself 😝I played through it while reading everything and it took about 10 minutes and I was just like "yeahhhh, we ain't gonna do this one" 💀
@trailspokemon it's 3 mins 16s at its fastest but on average I take about 3 mins 30s

You should do a challenge where you and a bunch of other UA-camrs shiny hunt Rowlet and its evolutions and see how many you get in 24 hours

BTW… I did that exact same Mareep hunt, and I used static, and I got two mareeps and no other shinies.
Two bc I friggin failed the first one bc I didn’t see it in time like a dumbass.
But yeah, I’m like 90% sure static and other encounter boosting abilities do work for hordes

I love seeing more people hunting for shiny mega pokemon. I hope the Kalos starters get the same treatment, it's odd that technically only Greninja got one with its battle bond form.
The twist makes me shocked but i have to keep watching. I'll rewatch this as i feed my shiny riolu tons of friendship berries and then evolve him. And I lost a shiny in a horde because i hit the wrong square

I've gone through Y and Alpha Sapphire with only shinies, so I sort of understand the struggles you had, except I wasn't restricted to only using mega pokemon. I initially wanted a shiny Riolu for Y, but after going over 9000 encounters and getting a Dunsparce, I just decided to take it and leave (it was pretty good anyways, believe it or not). In Alpha Sapphire, I ended up going for the story Latias. Only took about half a year before it finally showed up at 3,981 encounters... (pain)
Eventually, I'm going to do another run of either Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, but first I need to get 3 very rare and special mythical shinies. 2 of them will be used in the playthrough, the 3rd is just from the same gen as one of the others

Fount my first ds shiny and I fount it on Oras which I haven’t played before btw resetting for mudkip now I’m on the hunt for torchic and next I’d go for treeko then once I get all of them I transfer them to bank reset the game and pick mudkip so I can get it’s mega stone

I've been doing Shiny only Team runs for the past year or so and have become A RNG Manipulation Enjoyer in the process. Gen 6's RNG manipulation is a pain due to Tiny MT, but could have been used to get some of those Shinies. Or manipping Pokémon in older games and then transferring them. Much easier on emulator too. I think you'd enjoy learning about the RNG methods across the generations. I remember you did Gen 3, but don't remember if you did it for any other generations.

I got a shiny riolu first phase on x but it took 120 hours after I got a pansear in only 1 hour

I’m kind of tired of this, where he makes a crazy concept for a shiny hunting video or just a generally difficult shiny hunting video then midway or the end he just goes “Yeah I cheated, I actually did bla bla bla to get bla bla bla because I don’t have the time for this.” If you don’t have the time for it don’t record, script it, and edit it just for people to find out 20 minutes into the video that you’ve been cheating or at the end of the video you just cheat through it. It’s just a big turnoff for me.
I agree! Cheating is lame and wrong. And if you listened to what I was saying during the “bla bla bla” portion, you would potentially be able to understand that I’ve accepted the fact that cheating is lame and wrong, and that going forward I won’t be doing it again :)
I’ve dedicated a second channel to saving all of my shiny hunting footage & my stream vods, where everyone will be able to see I’m doing exactly what I’m saying I’m doing, and every shiny that I say is legit, is in fact legit. If a hunt takes 40 hours, there will be 40 hours worth of footage on that channel. If it takes 200, there will be 200 :)
