Fun fact: The live footage during this interview is the earliest known/circulated Limp Bizkit live footage that exists. After some research, I found out that it's from May 10th, 1997. Predating the Wales show, Pinkpop and the Vans Warped Tour. It was taken at the LA F Musicfest at the Whiskey A Go Go. This interview excerpt is taken from Ibanez' 7th Heaven promotional video that was given out with sold Ibanez 7 string guitars. There is more footage in the full thing.
I always found it weird whenever looking at old footage of Wes Borland from back in the day, how his hair looked much thinner in these archived clips of him from when he was younger, compared to clips of Wes Borland in present day, his hair actually looks like it got a lot thicker with age... Isn't that strange? Trips me out man. Hope I'm not the only one whose noticed this shit, lmao.
His 7 string Ibanez that he uses in the concert footage and the MV for Sour is (are?) very unique Universe model, does anyone has more information on it?
The guitar in the live footage is the same as the one from the Counterfeit video, a heavily modified/beaten up Ibanez UV7BK. It's called "Lucy". The one in the Sour video is another UV7BK, called the "Keymaster". The one shown off in this interview is a RG7620, called "Betty". Those are the 3 guitars he used live from mid '97 to sometime in '98.
In my opinion, as a guitarist that has been playing for years, Wes is not good, he thinks that bending notes is cool, but he does not know how to bend properly, he bends and makes it sound sour, when the pros bend and end at a nice note. He has improved over time a little, but is still a mediocre guitarist in my opinion.
Wes is not a “shredder” type of player. But he is very effective at his style and as a songwriter. Break Stuff for example, is simple, but dam if it isn’t one of the most macho riffs I’ve ever heard. Wes is also a talented artist (he’s designed a lot of the bands graphics), singer, and painter.

I mean he probably has the money to have a transplant.
He just shaved the sides and coloured it badly which made it look thinner

@@nicedream1990 No lo creo pero todo puede ser.
It's a case similar to Paul McCartney. Nowadays Wes isn't the original Wes

very bad condition uv7bk
The rare one he had was an RG, not a Universe, although he did have a Universe as well.

This is just word of wisdom.
Vocês sabem que show é esse no começo do vídeo?
Somebody tell me a video recording of Limp Bizkit in Whisky A Go Go, please.
I need thar guitar!
He is like valentino rossi 😁
Hafiz Sugiarto with a hint of Matt Heafy from Trivium.
And Donny O’Malley from vet tv
The only thing Limp Bizkit had was Wes Borland. And that in the end couldn’t help.
What show was that?
1997 05 10 Whiskey A Go Go, LA F Musicfest

LOL.....
Have you ever listened to any of his work in Big Dumb Face?
Because it seems you know absolutely nothing about Borland.
You know nothing, bro. Listen to Big Dumb Face and newest LB stuff, also his solo stuff
