  • Meet Valrie Boulanger.
Valrie knows all of the secrets behind the expert craftsmanship of La Cornue. Why? Now the production manager at the French luxury kitchen appliance company, Valrie has done it all: welding, fitting, shaping. He has helped to craft an exquisite La Cornue product, one painstaking step at a time. Valrie knows that masterfully crafting a custom-made La Cornue cooking or prep island unit is a labor of love, and he is proud to have poured his blood, sweat, and tears into creating artisan kitchen products that are tailor-made to suit his customers tastes.
First, craftsmen like Valrie work one-on-one with their customer to draft a design for a La Cornue island. Then, luxury materials like brass or copper are cut to order, and the unit begins to take shape. Though the old way of using a template to hand-cut and shape the metals has been replaced by more efficient machinery, Valrie says that a human hand is always present, every step of the process, to help ensure top-quality, beautiful results.

I want one of these SOOOOO bad. Would be so worth the money. For now though, I can at best afford a CornueFe, which I still think is quite beautiful. One day, I shall order the mack-daddy, hand crafted La Cornue. One day...

I have had two La Cornues. Neither was shoddy in ANY way. Built like a tank!

I think the cornuefe line are made at a factory in England and the château line are made at this location in France. The craftsmanship may be a little different
