Lars im 10 years old I have been using your drumsticks for 6 years my first pair was the original ones I bought my self a new pair of scary guy ones and before I was born my dad wanted to name my Lars but my mom said no so they named me DAMIAN my last name is Hernandez and the results I look like you when you were little i have long hair because you inspired me so I want to be like you when you were little peace out love you Lars
I'm 13 and I started playing drums when I was 3, I always was and I still am inspired by Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Iron Maiden etc. I grew my hair as well and my dad wanted to name me Ozzy after Ozzy Osbourne, but my mom didn't want to so they named me Wiktor.
he knows how to play other wise he wouldnt have done so much for the metal genre or been having a such long and good career, you may not like his drum style but facts are facts. He knows how to play drums he plays them like he wants to play them and he creates the beats that he wants to create and so far he has done that for over 30 years and he is still on the road and people are still looking up to him and other drummers like lombardo has big respect for him so he must be doing something right
I converted over to Ahead sticks a few months ago what a game changer I still break through the sleeves but it's cheaper to buy the sleeves than it is a new pair
Screw the tip of, pull the sleeve. If it won´t come easy, use a hair dryer to warm the sleeve. Than put on the new one, use a little bit of glue for the screw head and screw on the tip again. The packing included a discription. I play them too with stick rapp for gripping, the weight is less than the Gavin Harrison Stick of Vic Firth. And they break too... but they last over a year! I use S-Hoops on snare, i think they break faster with die cast hoops
As much as I think Lars is a colossal knob, I do use and love Ahead sticks, however they do break! But last 6 to 8 times longer than wood. I've had my Aheads for 2 years.
You can break them if you do rim-shots, happened to me several times back when i used to play drums. You get new sticks though because they are not supposed to break. A part from that the sticks are heavier then wooden sticks but that being said they are still good imo and not counting the sticks that cracked in half due to rim-shots i bought a total of 2 pairs over a period of 3½ years, all i had to do was get new sleeves a couple of times.
Instead of spending 8-10 dollars on sticks every couple of weeks, i pend like 3 dollars on new sleeves every couple of months. I've used the same 2 pairs last 3 years now!
My band's drummer has these. They are really great. A bit heavier than your regular wooden sticks, but that's cool for me. At least they have a better bounce. And if you hit your snare hard - you're going to get deaf!
On every video of One there's always that guy that complains about Lars's double bass. My answer: Can you do that at 53 years old and in front of 50,000+ people?
If you break a drum stick that easily there's something wrong with your drumming. Even for intense drumming, it's not that simple, they're not glass you know.. Cheers
Well ive got a feeling guys that break em do not know how to use em properly, yes they are strong but hitting cymbals incorrectly affects their life to, takes chunks out of the covers, bet to avoid that, Ive been playing 17 years and had 5 years of Jazz tution so mabe i have a better technique than alot, there is an art to hitting a cymbal. I still use wood, i warm up with them then go ahead.
I have used both and wood sticks are good but they do break and chip and what not. I would record with wood because they sound a bit better. But Ahead are badass live sticks
"Ready?"

"Three two one............Hi..."
You can hear him slightly speeding up while counting..

I wouldn't say he's overrated, he gets a lot of unnecessary hate comments to be overrated.

Absolutely yes. On some forums they are a "preferred brand" for edrums.
I might get his drumsticks because I really really really love METALLICA.
For example u can get these drumsticks from Thomann (thomann.de).
This video is so pure
