Well, I finally tried Ice Blue after decades away from it. Taking a cue from @classicalgrooming who rightfully says that you should try everything at least twice, I tried AV Ice Blue three days in a row. The first day I wasn’t really impressed. The second day I liked it a lot better, really impressed by the menthol feeling and the brace. By the third day I really enjoyed it. It will be the one I use when I don’t feel like using my regular aftershave rotation. A good everyday scent. Thank you CG. I can’t wait for your AV Musk review.
I've almost used up a whole small bottle of the "Musk" by Aqua Velva. At first, it sat on the shelf in my bathroom for a long time, as it kinda reminded me of an industrial chemical? But, after a few more tries - I realized it smells much different after it "Mellows" on one's skin. And, it mellows nicely! Turns out it's one of my favorites, and what's more...it's very inexpensive and it lasts & lasts! Yeah - I really like it...
Aqua Velva after shave has been around almost forever. Go to Wal Mart and you'll see it on their shelf whare shaving creams, razors and razor blades are displayed and sold. I use this product when I shave every other day. It's good stuff.
Its my daily driver. Won't interfere with other fragrances like deodorants and colognes. Disinfects cuts and cools. Will not dry out or irritate if you shave right.
Great review - I just discovered how much I like Brut on myself. I had a grandfather who I associated the smell with. But I was surprised trying a bottle years later how well the splash on preformed.
Smells like an old grandpa, but boy does it make my skin smooth, compared to the aftershave/lotion thin gel I was using from head blade that I loved. That stuff doesn’t give me little stings like this one does though. Makes me feel like this is working more. And my shaved head seems to have less red bumps. And it just feels smooth!
I heard that too, although I have no idea if it is true. Floral and citrus scents were sometimes used as breath fresheners. My grandmother used to suck on rose scented breath fresheners when I was very young. I tried one; didn't taste very good. Thanks for the comment!
@@classicalgroomingIt was used as a alcoholic beverage and guys use to drink it, until they changed the formula. It wasn't ment to be drank in the first place, however those guys did drink it many moon ago. Now it's strictly a after shave.
Both are good, I like both of them, matter of fact, I have two bottles of both Aqua Velva and Mennen Skin Bracer on hand. Currently working on the Aqua Velva musk bottle, once it's used up, back to good ole Aqua Velva blue once again. Just wish they would make it in a cologne, it does smell really great.
@@classicalgroomingSame here. Now that I'm an old man these days, 68, I don't bother much with these other high priced colognes. I do have Royal Copenhagen, Paul Sabastion and British Sterling, however just finished up the British Sterling. Don't see it any longer on store shelves so Royal Copenhagen is my next one to use up then Paul Sebastian, however those higher class colognes I will use on special, rare occasions. Aqua Velva and Mennen Skin Bracer is my every other day after shaves that I'll use. Since I'm a old man these days, I don't even bother to try to impress broads anymore. Never tried impressing them when I was younger either. Why bother, especially the way they act these days.
@@danbasta3677 Aqua Velva and Skin Bracer are both great. I do like British Sterling, but your right, the only place that i can find British Sterling now days, is on Amazon or other Fragrance discounters. Thanks for the comment!
I happen to be wearing it today. I have a bottle in the console of car to reply when needed. Great aftershave.👍😃
It is pretty nice, isn't it? Thanks for being part of the channel!
I love all the old drugstore scents. I just wish they would last a little longer but I know they’re not designed to do so.
So do I. They are all classic scents. Really enjoy them.
I stick to the old classic drugstore scents, as well. Have no use for the modern stuff. Thanks
Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements has homage aftershave splashes that last for 8-10 hours.
Never tried it . But heard it was Gregory Peck's signature scent. So you just know its going to be classy
Aqua Velva is a good after shave product. Only drawback is it doesn't last to long after you put it on your face after shaving.
Aqua Velva is another must have splash in your shave den. Cheers!
It is great! Thanks for the comment!
I use this often - mostly in spring, summer.
I think it's a bargain, too...
Been using Aqua Velva Musk, a lot lately. Love drugstore aftershaves. Love your channel. Will have to try Ice Blue. Thanks
AV Musk does punch above its weight! Thanks for commenting.

Never heard of this one! I just started to get into fragrances and I love learning about the older ones! Cool video!
Awesome! Thank you!

It does leave a great skin feel! Thanks for sharing your experience with the channel.
Sometimes I use Aqua Velvet as a cologne. I rub some on my neck, chest and arms.
I do to! Often before I go to bed. Thanks for the comment!
Not into menthol otherwise this would be a good summer splash. I have read that it was originally formulated as a mouth wash?

Always liked AV but prefer Skin Bracer when talking drugstore aftershaves.
It's been at least a decade since I've tried Skin Bracer. Its on the list for review!

Bring back AV frost lime
I also use skin bracer green. Though it not even close to AQ frost lime.
I wish skin bracer would bring back cool spice aftershave.
I used to use it, but I did not put it into my eye area like the guy in the video.
There are a few for sale on eBay
You can still buy it in stores where I live. I'm not sure I'd buy it off of E-bay with that being the case, but I appreciate the comment!
I have this one and the musk. My wife likes the ice blue better. Just had this on the other day.
I tend to use the Ice Blue more myself. Thanks for the Comment!

My fav cheap shitty aftershave for weddings, dates and the like
Anybody remember "Aqua Velva Redwood" ?
No! That's a new one to me. I'd love to hear some comments on that one.
Same here, never heard of it...but would be interested to try...
I've heard of it, however never tried it. Probably didn't sell well so it was discontinued, I should say.
