My friend and I have been trying to reassemble my AK CM042 for the past 5 hours. We were inches away from losing our minds, until we found this video which solved our issues and relaxed us with your peaceful music. Thank you good sir.
Headless Thompson Gunner Hey bud, if you mean a Sig 552, check out ASTKilo23 he has a video about disassembly and reassembly on his page ua-cam.com/video/RP6ISQcdeVg/v-deo.html
This video helped me rescue my gearbox. It was presented so well that it helped me spot a damaged component AND reassemble. Even 5 years after it was posted.
I never had the balls to open my gear box because I was scared I couldn’t put it back together, I was desperate to fix my AK and opened it anyway with no experience or tutorial. I never competed it.. My AK74 was my first gun I had ever operated on. But thanks to this video, you gave me confidence to complete my operation. Thank you.
superb video ... no noisy talk ... just plain clear optical guide ... clear explanations via subtitles ... soft background music (?) ... this was a very well planned filming and not a random "just film it" junk ... 10/10 ... subscribed !!!
The amount of perfection and quality of the making of this video, all in the information, the demonstration, the camera shots, and the editing, (man, even in the description) is all superb. AND LET US NOT FORGET ABOUT THAT MUSIC
I was very angry with my gearbox, just chaos, i found this video, and the music and the chillin vibe of the vid, just gave me a pacefully feeling and i love to clean it and assembly, thanks for evrything
A joy to watch! Ended up watching almost the entire video despite that I've fiddled a lot with my own v3 and upgraded everything. Was looking for a video to help someone out and found this. Didn't intend to watch it but I did. Excellent video! Will share whenever someone needs a guide!
Thank you! My RPK broke down and i had no idea how to reasemble the gearbox after opening it and replacing the broken spring. Finaly a video where 1. dissasembling means not just taking out the piston 2. no needless talking about pro tips or personal favorits or some crap 3.excellent camera Damn, this video was so good i do not even care that my english must sound like im twelve. Im way to hyped about the fact that i managed to place my gun back together at 2 in the morning after 4 hours of useless "tips and tuning videos and whatever"
i like this vid. No talking since it's not needed. Nice music, almost a quasi-zen experience of learning how to McGyver the geabox. There are things in here that could stand a bit of lube, even the plastic - just use, silicone shock fluid for model cars, its plastic and rubber safe...I have moly grease for airguns, spring piston thinking of using that for the rubber seal on my Snow Molf Italian m1938 sub gun. Or I have pure silicone grease from my PCP Marauder gun, also plastic safe and can use it on anything since it won't eat your seals or plastic. The gears, grease for sure.
If I just thought of looking for a guide to disassemble my gear box (how difficult could that be - I thought 😅) I could have saved myself an hour of looking around my room for parts that exploded from it. Now I just hope that I found everything and gonna try to put it back tomorrow.
You good sir are worthy of my subscription. Not only did you saved my wallet but also my gun, my fingers and most importantly a sh*t ton of my and all others nerves trying to figure it out ourselves. Thank you
saved this video to refer to later... you did a perfect job on this video. I will put just a wee bit of grease on all the gear parts that touch metal. On plastic parts, moly powder or, 95% silicone grease, often called diver's grease, there is NO petroleum in it to damage your plastic or rubber/neoprene seals so you probably can't go wrong using that.
Hi Rob! Thanks a lot! Yup, absolutely right when I do these kind of vids I like to keep things very clean for the camera but a bit more grease won't do any harm I usually get it in there after I'm done filming! 👍
Not going to lie, was getting angry trying to put my APS UAR Gearbox back together... thank you for this... also like the calming music in the background because of how angry everyone gets doing this XD
@@marc422 Hello, the selector plate, in most AEGs, will tell the cut off lever on which mode of fire it is; AUTO/SEMI. It is connected with the interior but in a slight manner. If you take apart your gearbox, play with the selector plate while looking at your cut off lever (it's a small part made of metal that sits behind the trigger assembly) and you'll see that the front of the cut off lever, which is like a small claw, will sit in an elevated position or it'll be sitting in a parallel position depending on mode of fire.
After a tech fudged up my LCT M70AB2, I took the matter in my own hands, without any knowledge of airsoft teching. Using this video, and the bevel-pinion shimming method, some tips for lubrication, AOE correction (Sorbo) and some others I managed to make the gun function from the first try. Great lighting, everything's nice and clean in the tutorial. My gun is working flawlesly. Thank you! Edit: I just realised I used your video for B-P shimming :D Nice!
Thank you so much this AK I have had for my entire airsofting experienceand I needed to repair a whole lot of things inside of the gearbox this video was a lifesaver
amazing lighting, camera focus, zoom when required, relaxing music, good pacing, all in order - thanks for making something stressful into something relaxing. you have&deserve my like/subscr
Can I just say, after working on V2 gearboxes for a couple years and finally getting an AK, this should be standard in M4s too! There's a bunch of little improvements that just make life easier. Like, come on, wire channels in the back of the motor? Unbent spade connectors? Shorter trigger? I'm gonna get spoiled with my new AK :D
You literly make the best vids on these things you deserve like 110k followers not 5 and the music choice 10/10 makes it very calm and understandeble instead of overwhelming
You are a fucking hero, I love you so much, I have no idea why I felt the need to open my gearbox but it all came apart wrong and your video saved my stupid ass. Thank you so much, you deserve a medal, no, a bloody trophy! First and last time I ever open it again, next time I'm paying someone else lol, thank you so much!
Thank you for this. I'm quite familiar with V2 gearboxes but I have just purchased a cm 042 that needs a warfet for better trigger response. This will help me no end
Thank you for a fantastic video. Very comprehensive, and ESPECIALLY thank you for not having annoying techno music playing through it like most idiots do. 🙉
This is a very well put together video. I would love to see videos with this degree of production but going over very nitty gritty fixes for some of the more complicated parts such as the cut-off lever, trigger contacts and nozzle/bucking lips mating.
Hi thank you for the video! Why does that part goes up in my gearbox?16:40 I noticed when I pull the trigger instead of pushing in, it goes slightly up and can't push in 🤷♂
My ak is so trash that i was pretty close to throwing it away because i was getting annoyed with the gearbox not closing/trigger flying off. I managed to assemble it (kinda) it shoots (Atleast it was able to take 1 shot... ) the screws are in wrong places and etc... its a Trashnikov so its fine
@@ryzenenjoyer2824 I found a tool online that is like a plastic clip that holds the anti reversal latch and trigger in place. Pretty useful tool, it took me 5 hours to close the gearbox. And it was shooting immediately without problems. How did you open it up? Always line up the screws the way you opened the gearbox up. Then you can't place screws in the wrong place.
I need to give my cyma a really good cleaning and replace the sector gear cover. That's how dirt is getting inside and interfering with the aster. The 3d printed cover is split on the edges on the layer linesan even though it was supposed to be for a cyma according to the seller it was slightly out of spec.
Nice and informative. This is my first time and quite the help for my gearbox. However im having trouble trying to fit my trigger into the gearbox. Dunno whats wrong with it.
I always clean up the internals when doing tutorials so everything's clean to see and you can actually see the greasing and lubing procedure later, plus I'm operating camera equipment and I don't want to mess it up with grease and oil! 😅
I recent got a new motor for my aug which has this type of gearbox setup, and it's a millimeter too larger for the motor encasement. I've got a solution figured out, it just unfortunately requires a drill....much like my fix for my hop unit...basically, unless you're either not upgrading it, or have some experience and patience, don't buy aug's. It'll be lovely once I've finished it, but until then, a major pain.
The calming music was a godsend as I had to start completely over 5 times.
I feel that😂
I want to say the same, the relaying music is a big help, when you try to put everything back together after the several try
Even with the calming music the FRIGGEN BLOODY TRIGGER ITS DRIVING ME UP THE GODAMN WALL

Great to hear that! You guys enjoy your work! 💪
this is the best gearbox disassembly video by far. superb.
I’m new to ‘tech-ing’ and my first attempt at taking my G36 apart led to an explosion of parts! This video has saved my life! Thanks man!
Hi Chris! Welcome to the club, enjoy your work!
Just had my JG 552 gearbox explode on me while attempting the same. Just hoping it doesn't have any other random stuff in it that isn't in the video

I am in the same situation :) Having AK74 and I have issues with piston operation, it seems once every few bb's there is malfunction.
i was stressing about this so much but this literally saved my time, money, and sanity, thank you so much!!
Never new gearbox guides could be so therapeutic.

LOL! 😂😂😂
i once tried to put in a trigger for an hour as it yeets away while i try to put the spring in
Yep, the v3 trigger springs are the most notorious things about these engines. Especially the MP5K ones I've always found.
What is the selector plate doing ist not connected with the interior so why is it there can someone explane me that
