5:30 Ouch! The last family-owned big brewery in Australia producing chemical-free, naturally fermented beer. You should try the Sparkling Ale (Red label). I will say though, that Coopers is probably not the best beer to introduce to a novice drinker. It's a complex flavour.
Thanks for the laughs Kaitlyn! I thought by the end of the taste test you would have been totally sloshed!....and why not! Great Northern is the beer from up here - North Queensland. Great Northern 'Super Crisp' is great, like mothers milk.
A few Generic beer suggestion •Little Creatures •Mountain Goat In regards to Coopers it's an acquire taste but Cooper's "First Harvest" is more drinkable than standard Cooper's VB is only good when it's hot and you need a Cold Beer PS VB best to use for damper or beer battered fries
The cat knocked over the beer, that old story. 1/2 a beer in & your already tipsy. No in all seriousness you have to try a James Boags Premium Larger, one of the best beers on the planet. I'm amazed you didn't get a Crown Larger, the quintessential Aussie Beer. Also you should have done a couple of zero alcohol beers for the non-drinkers. The Balter is made on the Gold Coast & is owned by Mick Fanning & Joel Parkinson, famous world title holding surfers. Mick Fanning was the Aussie surfer that punched a shark, while out surfing. The Largo beer is made by the Aussie band Lime Cordial. Keep up the good work Kaitlyn.
Hi Kaitlyn, find yourself and old can of Brisbane Bitter open it smell it and then just before you drink it TIp it down the sink. lol . All seriousness I’m a XXXX gold man but I am a biased Queenslander 😉🍻🍺
I've tried most of those and maybe it's a South Aussie thing but Coopers Pale Ale is my favourite. VB I'll drink if there's nothing else and I used to keep XXXX in the fridge for when my father-in-law would visit and didn't mind it. Pure Blonde is great at nightclubs as it's not a very heavy beer. I agree with you about Carlton Draught (though they have the best beer commercials, check out Carlton Draught "Big Ad" if you haven't seen it) but Carlton Cold is very nice.
Great Northern is a nice drop, Tooheys is from NSW so is Resch's, but not shown, VB from Victoria XXXX from QLD Coopers from SA Carlton is Victorian, James Squires was the Convict brewer on the Parramatta River Sydney , ha Blacktown 40 c a bit warm hey
Kaitlyn, it's great to see you smiling again after your Indie author video. 👌 Coopers make pretty good beers, actually. Their stout is perfect on a cold winter's day while sitting around a log fire in an Irish pub (but served cold of course, not like a Guinness). For summer, however, I would go for a lighter beer like a pale ale from Little Creatures. So refreshing on a hot summers day while waiting for sea breeze to come in.
I'm a 52 year old Aussie and I have never tried a beer, any beer, I've never even had the desire to try one. Kudos for giving them a go, but I hope all those who decide to move to Australia don't feel the need to drink a sixpack every night just because that it is supposed to be "stereotypical Australian".
Victoria Bitter, it's victorian nuff said. If you decide to do another beer tasting down the track, maybe try a coopers sparkling ale. For a winter beer tasting there's always stouts and dark ales😊
You should track down a Foster's and give it a try. You will probably find it's not as bad as it's made out to be, and probably fits smack bang in the middle of all of the flavours of each State. Emu from WA would be a good crap beer to round out all of the 5/10 beers. If you really want to adventurous, try some of the Motson's Mango, Summer Bright Lime, and the Great Northern Ginger Beer.
Coopers being the only respectable beer visible. James Squire has a funky off yogurt aftertaste, probably quality control issues. The rest are all mega-swill beer, and the ones in the clear bottles are beer for people who don't like beer. Granted i occasionally have a VB, but if you're gonna drink swill, where's the Swannies and Bush Chook?
Great Northern Black for me. If you really want to try something with a bite try Toohey's Old. Now that will really hit the spot and if you can't finish a schooner I'm sure Mark will oblige.
I dont mind Great Northern and Carlton Dry. I dont care for VB but I may drink it if it's the only option. Cascade and Boags are decent too but I live on the mainland now and I mostly drink them when I'm in Tassie.
Fosters used to be one of the big brands because it could "Travel" along side Carlton and VB, you drank one of those three or the local, once bear technology improved more brands became more available and killed Fosters domestically.
If you plan on making a beer damper or a beer batter, can I please recommend you buy Coopers Sparkling Ale. The yeasts and residues in the beer make for an absolutely brilliant batter or damper. I've made both and have found Coopers to be the best to use.
Good Girl drinking from bottle - glass makes the beer colder so tastes better. You should get your husband to make you a Shandy on a hot day ? A dash of beer in a glass of beer - we loved it once every blew moon as kids :)
Not in my world. I'm a home brewer and we're always looking for clarity for some reason. Personally, I reckon the Cooper's Pale Ale in a can is the pick. But, that said, it all comes down to personal preference. There's no right or wrong, just what you like or don't like.
It's a very cheap beer to produce. You'll notice the worst beers have the biggest advertising campaigns behind them. The better beers speak for themselves
you pretty much ranked them from most like water to strongest taste. hardly surprising from someone that doesn't like beer. there was a few curve balls like carlton dry should've been higher on your rating as it easier drinking than say xxxx. the stronger beers benefit from being super cold especially for a non beer drinker. coopers, tooheys new and carlton cold are my preferred beers. if you do any more you should probably try emu bitter, west end, crown lager, carlton cold and james boags

What!!!!!!! No James Boags or Cascade? Tasmania gets left out again!!!!!! IMHO the best mainstream beer made in Australia. Kaitlyn you really should give those two a try (probably not to your taste but that's cool as beer is very subjective). If you noticed on the the Carlton beers you had they say CUB which in real terminology means Can't Understand Brewing lol 😂. Am I going to get some hate for that lmao 🤣. Great vid you made and glad you are getting into a great Aussie tradition.
5:21 Coopers Original Pale Ale can be drunk with or without the sediment. Roll and open for a very yeasty flavour or decant carefully into a glass and leave the sediment in the bloody bottle. It's the best cold beer to drink at home without the sediment. 🍻🍻🍻🍻

There are a lot low carb/no carb beers out there as well as no alchohol beers as well, a friend of mine gave me a no carb/no alchohol beer. It had a light beer taste with little bitterness, very drinkable for the life of I remember who made it. I know it was a low volume brewer, in euro bottles 330ml in 4 packs. As I have diabetes, I could still have a beer without upsetting my health
It's better than Tooheys New, any XXXX, West End, and Emu Bitter. Or its sibling beers Carlton Draught, and Melbourne Bitter. I'd put it behind Swan Draught, Emu Export, and anything from Boags, and Cascade

That was a brave thing for a non beer drinker to do, I was amazed that the 10/10 was a mix of 11 different types
The best beer in Australia is the one in your hand, right now.
that and vb
and another one I’ve got the name of on the tip of my tongue

The reason Great Northern sells so well is because it's made for people who don't like beer.

And still the Bundy on the shelf hasn't been touched! Come on, drink up! That sugarcane champagne won't drink itself!
