I got a 6 year old who washes the pots and turns the lights on and off , and a 14 year old who operates the TV remote and curtains. Both voice controlled obviously ;-)
Man your home is insane. I just recently started out with smart home stuff and so far have a Google home speaker, google home mini in bedroom, Nest thermostat, and some smart switches for my lights.
You’re smart home setup is awesome! I hope to have an awesome smart home setup one day but right now I only have some smart lightbulbs, smart plugs, Chromecast and a home mini set up for my room. You’re definitely an inspiration to think big!
I have the hue bulbs and they are fab. Living room has colours and then bedroom just has warm/cool white. I also got a wifi plug from Aldi which works really well too.
I just realised that as a bachelor who works 50hr weeks a robot vacuum cleaner would be an amazing investment. Always felt it was a gimmick but the mapping was impressive 👌🏾
Nest would be good if it wasn’t for the extortionate subscription costs!! No local storage or free cloud storage?! It’s a big stopper. Arlo all the way atm.
Wow, really great. I'm just starting to build up, so far not much in my home except for a Google Home Mini, some random socket and a Hama lightbulb. More lightbulbs are too follow, further a Google Home, Google Home Hub and probably a Smart TV in the nearer feature. Furthermore, no idea. But this video definately was inspiring!
Got a lot of the same setup. Use Nest secure with doorbell, Yale lock etc. Camera's are the only point that bother me. So I've got a mix of Nest and Arlo cameras. Just to keep the monthly/yearly cost down that can quickly rack up with Nest. Really want to see how a Wyze camera works.
I agree, this house IS pretty much owned by amazon. I don’t understand how people are comfortable with putting tons of consumer devices that feed data to private servers and obscure control over them through proprietary apps. In my book, if a device cannot be put into a VLAN and be accessible only from a server in the same home network, it is not a worthy choice.
Big brother is watching us :). You are 100% right about security. These devices are easily hackable and everyone can take over you "smart house". But we are not important people so that we are relatively safe
Personally I don’t do anything interesting or important enough at home to expect my data will be captured forever (imagine how much storage that would require). I’m also not going to do something stupid like link a smart lock to the net or use default passwords or have cameras indoors. I also like to have physical overrides and I prefer things to be kept on secure LANs or wired if possible, as few connections as you can manage should actually leave your control for the wilds of the internet.
I think out of all of these things shown here, the most important _ "Everyday Edition" _ products that everyone should have: Nest Hello Doorbell Nest Thermostat Nest Cam IQ Indoor Nest Cam IQ Outdoor Nest Protect Nest Smart Lock Mostly for security for home and possessions while you're away at work/vacation, and then the thermostat for reducing energy bill from heating and cooling costs.
Thanks for the video! Just discovered your feed. Did you ever hear/try home assistant? Provides a way to unify different platforms into one. Totally recommend it!
I believe you’ve mentioned it in previous videos but I couldn’t recall which one. What company makes your TV/media stand? I’ve been looking for a good stand & really love what you have. Thank you!
Nice vid. Maybe worthwhile to also mention some software to make your life easier with Alexa/Google and smart devices; like IFTTT and Yonomi, and of course the Harmony hub, that works very wel.
Of course. Those things are awesome but I personally don’t use too much of it since I keep things as simple as possible. IFTTT is very powerful and useful!
Wow, that is my deam to have a smart home, but I am not confident that I am not being watched by a hacker or the person who installed it. I love you video, I will keep watching to learn more.
4-5 sec delay for Nest Doorbell? You have to be kidding, the delay is ungodly long. By the time someone drives in my driveway, gets out of the car, walks to the door and they are inside I get an indication. I have have 5 other cameras and 75Mbps Internet. Great video though good job, wish Noon had Ceiling fan control, I might purchase then.
Great video, and very informative. Just curious what internet speed you run in your house to get such quick responses like that from your smart devices and front door video cameras?
Lovely home. In my case I don’t have the option of getting a nest hello due to lack of a powered doorbell so had to go for ring video doorbell. I’m actually considering getting a bdi elements too. I know it lets sound through the door but is sound compromised in any way if you have a centre speaker in there?
That kind of life in US now! Junior health worker can afford himself a big house packed with most modern tools and gadgets. Here in Russia nurses can only dream about it.
Hey Danny have to use my disclaimer and say I don't know how to do punctuation on voice to text but cuz I'm leaving the comment so just read it slow it's not too painful hahaha but I want to say it you did an Incredible video I love that you have the highest sense cuz I know about that television and I have the amplifier as well it is freaking amazing for being a router and mesh Network also I'm glad about the robo vacuum that you have I really want to get that thank you for that video as well it's like you don't know you need something until you know everything about it so thank you for that and I really like the setup that you have I use Google Assistant as well as Vivint alarm system and I have to say it's working out really well and it's very convenient I also use Kinect for the Xbox so I don't have to use Cortana or Alexa so it's still a good investment and I use switch mate for the lights because I didn't want to do any wiring but I do have to get into bulbs and maybe the oh that's which that you have looks pretty interesting I do have an automatic garbage sensor but not a high-end one like yours but it's just as good but I'm interested in yours definitely
Hey nice video!!! I use Control4 and things that you have shown in the video. I recently saw something for manual curtains that is interesting: soma smart home
Just feel in 2018 companies should let the customers decide what we pair stuff with I’d bet a lot of Apple home kit people would buy nest if they knew it was HK compatible
Too few people actually go about smart homes smartly. It would be nice if you could spend some time about the networking aspect. One secure way to go about this is using a router for your smarthome appliances that is NOT connected OR that is heavily controlled. Blocking all unauthorized communication. I highly doubt you did the latter.

Uh...sometimes I lock the door with a key.....
Where's the fun in that ?

So what? I don't fucking care if they see me fucking or masturbating. I don't care anymore.

Great video
Got the h9e plus @55. Great for the price. Using multiple routers with ddwrt and pfsense as my router for the home network. Don't like mesh devices
Great video. But I need to know where you got that t-shirt!!! Link that in the description!!
J.DILLA in effect Bro !!!!
I lost it when he started talking to the trash can 😂
Change your router to 2.4ghz.
Should fix the delay in your bulbs.
With a tv cabinet like you have, I would put accent light within it too.
Cool smart home tech.
Dope shirt.... and tech of course
Home wifi is always my issue, trying to settle on a mesh system at the moment so will definitely check it out
Yeah AMPLIFI for me has been the solution. Check the sales too. Sometimes they have great deals and they have a new system out as well now.

Great video, and very informative. Just curious what internet speed you run in your house to get such quick responses like that from your smart devices and front door video cameras?
It’s not super fast but I have a 300/25 speed.
Nice video bro

Nest cameras would be fine if it wasn’t for the extortionate subscription cost!!! No local storage or free cloud is a stopper! Arlo all the way atm.
I haven’t checked out Arlo. I need to.
That's not the BDI Corridor in your living room. It's the BDI Elements quad cabinet in natural walnut with the wheat design.
Just got the Polk Command Bar
Hi, I want to connect my Apple devices in my home. Can you help me by suggesting gadgets to buy please?
That kind of life in US now! Junior health worker can afford himself a big house packed with most modern tools and gadgets. Here in Russia nurses can only dream about it.
Not true :). You can buy anything but you are going to pay for all stuff you got your whole live so it is not worth it.

You da man! You need to come over to my crib and hook me up next time your are in Tennessee man!
Hey nice video!!! I use Control4 and things that you have shown in the video. I recently saw something for manual curtains that is interesting: soma smart home
I will check Soma out. Yeah control 4 is something I was looking into. I might do it on a larger build in the next house.
Dilla! Nice shirt man
Second. I always like coming second. 😉😉
😂😂😂😂
Recently spoke about the new Alexa Show on my blog post which is a LOT cheaper which is fantastic! Any news on when you'll cover that? :)
What do. You use to make a smart home
Where did you get that shirt from? it’s a must have.
If y’all want his shirt it’s called “J DILLA "MAESTRO" T-SHIRT (HEATHER GREY)”
I’m in the nest ecosystem I really wish it was home kit compatible but it’s just as easy to open the nest app or use Alexa
Yeah it's been a topic for a while but you know how it goes. Google owns Nest.
Just feel in 2018 companies should let the customers decide what we pair stuff with I’d bet a lot of Apple home kit people would buy nest if they knew it was HK compatible
Cool
Dude, the hinges on your front door are exposed to the exterior of your house. Bad design.

Danny, it looks like the plastic film is still on your fridge controls. Or maybe it's just a reflection?
Reflection
What about the shirt? Where can I get that!?!?!?
What's the next best roborock to purchase that's priced lower?
