I've given up on tea channels long ago. These people treat crimes and trauma like it's hot gossip. Kind of a bad vibe. Sure, I can enjoy someone who takes a more informal approach as long as they're respectful. That can bring some humanity into dark topics, but Anna Oop, Spill and the rest of the tea people channels jump the line into exploitation.
imo, they also over dramatize things. Someone unfollowing someone else, a small percentage of people disagreeing with what an influencer did, making a huge deal over something minor as if it's the worse thing ever. There's also a lot of flawed logic in their points of view too. But yes, crimes and trauma are treated as if it's hot gossip.
Honestly people who are super into true crime is such a red flag, especially most of the content around it. It becomes dehumanising and they're often quite venomous people, at least in my experience...
the difference between spill and anna oop. that while spill lied to us and is owned by a corporation they put actual time behind research to give out their opinion. anna oop is flip flopping with each topic, gets a lot of information wrong.
the moment you said she announced a third channel is where i stopped believeing it was a single person there is NO WAY shes gonna be able to keep up by herself
If you told me a decade from now that this channel was the first Tea creator generated entirely by an AI, owned by an AI, to appeal to AI audience, I’d believe it
One of the biggest red flags regarding Anna Oop's channel as an artist, was the art style of her avatar. Don't get me wrong. I don't hate this style. But u most often see it in elsa gate flashgames since it seemingly is a cheaper to produce style that is useful for cheap animation. This is also why I think Spill seems more believeable than Anna. Cause it looks home made. Most channels with these kinds of avatars start as artists that make animated story content like Jayden Animations, Or they have an artist that'll draw stills for them. But Anna seems really out of place if you compare their channel to others. it just looks like a cheap 5 minute crafts elsa gate avatar representing what the corporation thinks drama fans like, rather than an actual avi representative of a real creator. It's the thing you see on a stationary set for young girls. Not on a creators animated channel. And I think more people have to at this critically if they wanna sniff out the big corpo trojan horse. Cause some times you'll just see with an art style and character design how much that alone can actually look very corporate and fishy. when you smell a "hello fellow kids", investigate it.
I just saw one of her videos a while back (when the makeup community was at its peak) And i honestly thought that it was made in a dollmaker, like those kids making gacha vids LMAO
for real, I swear it looks like it was ripped straight from girlsgogames or movie star planet in all seriousness though, yeah I'm also an artist and her avatar was one of the biggest tells, it always made me feel like the channel was really... corporate? fake? I don't know what word I'm looking for but it kind of rubbed me the wrong way?
People still aren't used to the idea of a corporate UA-cam channel pretending to be a 'real person' who decided to try and make a career out of UA-cam, so they aren't looking for the signs.
Anna Oop's channel name is based on a Drag Race-related meme (Jasmine Masters' "And I oop-") that was already outdated/overused when the channel started posting content. That + a use of AAVE that sounds forced and unnatural + her 2d character looking like a royalty free Movie star planet character immediately told me this channel was managed by someone trying to "look legit", but it all ended up looking like the "How do you do Fellow kids" meme
Maybe she's contractually obligated to help them make a smooth transition to the next VA, maybe by making one final video claiming to give the channel away to a "friend" or "sibling." Then introducing said replacement to the viewers, Blues Clues style
I watched a couple of her videos back in like 2019 when I was into the beauty community, ykno before it got super nasty, and I always assumed the channel was cooperate just bc her voice is SUPER voice actor. Nobody authentic talks like that, it's definitely a "performative" voice. I never knew the channel got that big, till I saw this video, and i was like "no one knew?"
I honestly would've given this company props if they just did a face reveal with a picture of the entire staff with edited in pixel sunglasses and joints
True crime is such an easy place to get problems in. It’s so easy to ignore that there are actual people involved in it and it’s so easy to forget that fact.
@@zogwort1522 I think dehumanizing is more of a problem. In true crime there are victims and victims families and some true crime channels don’t treat these victims or their families with the respect they deserve. They just treat them like content
@@zogwort1522 i disagree with this, you can do true crime and be respectful and mindful. Also id say true crime isnt a place where you go and make jokes so i dont see your point there Id say EWU is one good example of how to handle true crime. If one would be overly dramatic or exaggerate or blow things out of propotion i wouldnt watch and id go as far as to say most of those who watch true crime stuff dont watch it for the narrators personality but then again theres a market for everything
@@zogwort1522 wait what, how is being mindful and respectful not treating people as human beings? If that were to be the case then my whole country with 5.5 million people are not treating people as humans since our society is build upon respect and being mindful of others
@@zogwort1522 i still dont get your point here. To me being mindful and respectful when dealing with real life stuff and tragedies is treating people as humans.
@@goingunder2548 I know you didn’t ask but a true crime channel that genuinely is good is BOZE VS THE WORLD :) She digs into the psychology of things, as well as not treating the killer like they’re cool or something
Anna Oop channel's avatar artstyle sticks out like a sore thumb. It feels like a staple in the brainrot TikTok and similar platforms tend to infect their userbase with and it irritates me I can't find a way to describe it properly... but it's such a distinct artstyle akin to those Elsagate adjacent kid videos that trigger my flight or fight response except it's only fight and rage and I just KNOW it's a red flag.
i'm actively in the drag race fandom and i totally forgot they got dragged into this... tbh you could tell something was off about butter face bc it almost verged on a parody - most of the drag race content creators i follow are, for a show that's so over-the-top, surprisingly pretty calm and down-to-earth, especially the ones that deal in the production and creation of the show
As a previously naive 40 yr old YT viewer, I made a few comments directly to “Anna” regarding the horrendous mispronunciations of victim’s names, blatant disregard for getting actual facts wrong and the mind numbingly click bait titles “she” was pushing out. One day, a genuine angel informed me that “Anna” was just the narrator. It all clicked at that point 🥴 Another great vid TRO :)
At the risk of dating myself, this girl's voice is the female equivalent of Perez Hilton's back when he used to do radio celebrity gossip. That really snarky, high-pitched whine of a voice that just grates on arrival
That's actually kind of freaky to think about, that even the channels we watch that seem to have built up from nothing can actually be puppets of corporations. I wonder how many other big channels are also secretly like this but are better at covering their tracks
I think there's a lot of channels who aren't necessarily run *by* corporations, but present themselves as being like 'uwu I'm just one person writing and editing these videos', when they have a whole ass team of people working for them while they just read off a script they didn't even write
That individual, human connection and respect is why I love channels like you and Wendigoon. The fact that you both do long as heck videos I can listen to while doing things is irrelevant...
idk how people wouldn't think this is a corporate channel when the icons are literally in the style of those massproduced flashgames from the mid-late 2000's
true crime is a genre that can and does get a lot of deserved criticism, and ~anna solves~ is such a prime example of the worst of it. for every dreading there's a thousand anna oops, it's such a disservice to what should be approached as journalism edit: yes I know dreading isn't perfect and body language is bullshit pseudoscience, it was just an example of a channel that puts some level of work into their content and cares enough to pay attention to who the victims were in life. always open for actually respectful recs too!
@@monicaprzestrzelski4677 literally like if you're talking about someone's brutal murder as if you're chit chatting over a glass of merlot maybe rethink how that might sound to someone who knew the person and decide if that's the best course of action
dreading isn't really great either. the amount of "psychology" true crime channels that rely on psuedoscience like body language for whether people are guilty or not during interrogations is wild. all the JCS "inspired" channels have a lot of issues. there's a very good video on the channel "münecat" about it called "i debunked every "body language expert" on youtube"!
@@tori6943 i agree. even channels like that, while not necessarily disrespectful to victims, could still instill false hope with their psuedosciences, even if they are marginally correct removing any biases
the first video i ever watched from her true crime channel was about a murder in japan and she butchered the names so hard. not just mispronouncing them but straight up saying it WRONG. i blocked her in all channels ever since
There's something so bizzarre about a whole ass corporate team deciding that starting Twitteresque drama is the best step forward. You just know a bunch of suits were sat in a meeting asking "what would a 21 year-old drama creator do here, ah yes, stirring the pot."
3:20 brew is actually a good channel to be completely honest. well researched and entertaining with funny characters and good voice overs. i honestly dont mind it at all
Same. The characters are clearly fake and they’re not trying to pretend to be real people or anything. Like the guy from brew is just an entertaining science guy.
I don't think people would mind corporation led UA-cam channels so long as they're upfront about it since with so many big channels having editing teams and stuff like PR and marketing, that's already becoming par for the course, it's just the whole 'How do you do fellow kids?' and 'homemade from some random college kid's bedroom' fake down to earth vibe these sort seem to tack on. That and the Anna Oop content farm is so obviously there to farm clicks and likes with just how little fact checking goes into videos that either have celeb slander or dangerous misinformation in regards to true crime content (Which is already ethically dubious in its own right) with the worst bane of drama channels being scrambling to be the first to break the story than get your facts straight.
I feel like people are now kinda just chill with the company that made SPILL and BREW bcs they were uncovered pretty early, and they just admit it, the drama happens, they continue making videos, and we just let it. So now we look at them like, "oh, the company youtuber", then watch it, or moves on.
That! People loved buzzfeed, which is basically the same thing. No need to lie. I truly don’t think the people (read: children) watching these channels would even care.
The second i heard her voice and that kind of writing it felt soulless and lacking a real person doing the work. Feels like an AI generated drama video.
If I remember correctly, something that happened with Anna Oop when the channel started, was in their community tab. In about a month or so, they started to create and promote merch with the cartoon. It left a lot of people with a bad taste, leaving comments like "Who do you think you are?" "You are a simple tea channel a few weeks old and already merch?" They quickly deleted the posts due to backlash. EDIT: Grammar :C
Lol people get offended over nothing. Instead of supporting their merch or just ignoring them, it’s “who do you think you are? Now get back in the basement and create content for us, peasant!”
You are the ONLY channel that consistently keeps me watching 1+hour long videos on shit and people I never even heard of, and yet I'm all into it the entire time like I know WTF is going on!! Love this channel bro!! Never stop!!
What's most disturbing about this is, the sense of comfort in knowing this is people behind this, when we're on the cusp of an age when it could be an AI.
Man, imagine how obnoxious it's gonna be when low effort AI-generated content farms start being shotgunned out to ridiculous levels. We're already seeing the beginnings of that.
@@newxenesiswhat year are you living in? This video literally deals with that, it was year ago. How on earth do you not know about content farm video essay channels? They're been everywhere the last year and everyones talking about them.
I think its too soon for him to do so. The dust hasn't settled in this situation, and there's still stuff going on such as Blair sending a cease and desist to wonderstruck within the last week. He tends to cover topics once the buzz and heat has died dow so that he, and his team(? If he has one) can do a proper retrospective analysis on a subject without having to worry too much about potentially missing any additional details that may be crucial to the context of the situation.
thats how i felt about onision and social repose both of their dramas felt too much LIKE internet drama to be real to me, more so social repose's than onision's i've been wary of all internet drama since
As a background actress I can definitely confirm that they often put out auditions for channels ran by companies simply looking for influencers to be the face of it
This was really eye-opening and oddly interesting because we kinda never notice the rate at which those channels mass produce videos, until someone like TRO points it out.
@@whitneyhenry5755 stepanie's vids are super interesting tho. i would genuinely not care if she had affiliations with a corporation as long as she wasn't stealing other people's content. idek

I prefer a deep dive like you do here, TRO. Give me details, great editing, community support, a sense of humor not meant for the algorithm over content farms.
I’m so confused how I’ve watched tea, true crime, and commentary channels for years and have never heard of Anna Opp, but I shall be watching the whole video
Anna Oop is the "gurl" version of The Infographic "boi" channel. Cranked out with ridiculous regularity. I've never seen Anna, but Infographics is -painfully- inaccurate. Quite often. It spreads so many lies and inaccuracy and people love it.
@@justoverit I'm a historian by training. It's more so they puppet the most common shared stories and statistics they find. For example they might make a video on Audie Murphy, A US soldier in WW1 who charged a German position and using his 1911 side arm managed to take out 7 men with 7 shots. But modern excavations have actually uncovered closer to 14-20 spent 45. ACP cartridges and we now know he wasn't actually alone. So they parrot the legend that was once treated as fact instead of the less glamorous, but now accurate reality

I think we're only a couple years out from a massive drama where it is revealed that an extremely popular channel was made almost entirely by an ai. Like, maybe the only thing done by a human is a voice actor to read scripts.
My bf and I last night were discussing the possibility that channels like SunnyV2 are AI scripted/voiced Considering how quickly they pump out content and with chatGPT it’s a possibility especially with time
Why would it be drama? 🙄 you guys start getting offended by the weirdest things. How about you just appreciate that you’re getting entertaining content for free?
@@jasonvargas7564 Depending on how the A.I is used, it's potentially a reasonable complaint. Imagine if a UA-camr's channel blew up after uploading a video about a traumatic experience & people realized a year later, that the person, the story, & the voice were all fake. Not only would that mean people were tricked into feeling real sympathy for someone who doesn't exist but it would also make it harder for people to believe similar stories that are actually true. Then there's the possibility of a serious journalism channel consisting entirely of cases researched by an A.I. with no human fact checking. On the other hand, it really doesn't matter when it's a stop motion video of Springtrap chasing The Mystery Gang.
Content farms remind me a lot of Kickstarter scams. You trick everyone and then the whole community becomes a bit more cynical. Eventually it becomes so cynical that even authentic projects/channels will be hurt directly by the cynicism.
I've never understood this whole side of UA-cam. Just being surrounded by bullsh*t fights every day and commenting on them, often in a negative way. I can't imagine that being a fun life honestly.
It's a lot nicer if you're not constantly surrounded by it. I'm subscribed to one tea channels who uploads every second day or sometimes less. She gives a recap on a specific drama or like with coachella and PR events recaps all the drama. Sometimes it's genuinely stupid shit but recently she spoke about a former member of a family channel who cut ties and was speaking out, really interesting. I like to stay up to date on stuff like this but some of these channels post way too much or focus on petty infights too much
@@AmeliaMastervally I used to follow 2 tea channels whose personalities I liked, wayyyy back in the day when I was more into beauty UA-cam. Because you know there's always drama there. Or at least there was like ~8 years ago. But I quickly realized that there was so much repetitive content about what was pretty much nothing, trying to be peddled as "drama" or "tea". And I was like "ohhh.. you don't actually care so much about reporting on drama as you do about making money from reporting on inconsequential things that you can dress up to sound like drama." And then pushing their merch. It's just so transparent and off putting.
I saw Paige's video when it first came out was SO shook by it that I had to make my own video about this - the way I saw it, even if I could let a handful of people know about this travesty, I felt it would be a good place to start. I'm very glad to see the topic covered by channels like yours, even if the AnnaOop channel got another year - it's borrowed time anyway. Thanks for making this video and sticking up for the smaller creators

I enjoy my fair share of drama docs cuz they make great background noise for the 'ol ADHD brain. But your pieces are oftentimes my favorite because you do them so well. They're solid, well put together, and I have zero issue believing that this vid won't be the same. Keep it up with being the [at least my] favorite british docu-man! Have a lovely day, and drink a cup of tea for me. I've not the slightest clue how to make tea palatable. I supposed to quote a certain someone, I can only make hot leaf juice.)
New fear unlocked: The Right Opinion is also a hidden company with voice-over like Anna Oop, creating a feedback loop of these channels doing videos on each other, churning and shuffling subscribers to the next one
As soon as she made the second channel, I started getting suspicious… And one of the first things I noticed was that she would make errors in her speech, that no person who spoke English as a first language would make. It seemed like she was a hired voice actress who was reading a script verbatim, even if it wasn’t exactly perfect English. As time went on, it almost seemed like she asked if she could throw in more American lingo or whatever. But especially in the first two years, it was noticeable to me. I don’t want to be offensive and give a direct example. Lol but just little things. Like ok, f it lol… she would say things like, “He did this horrible crimes over the course of ten years.” I’m sorry… There’s no way you can get me to believe that you’re smart enough to simultaneously run three channels single-handedly but you don’t know How to properly use the language you speak natively? No. Doesn’t make sense. But like I said, it did start getting better as time went on, so I don’t know if they saw people like me, mentioning it in the comments and then asked her to run over it or if they hired an editor or what… It very much sounded like someone trying to impersonate an American teenager or young adult more than it was actually one. But who also spoke (fluent but not perfect) ESL. And I know that obviously the voice is a young person… but like I said, especially in the oldest videos, it just didn’t fit.
@@dinariddle1696 "This" is present tense, meaning that the crimes would have had to be currently committed to use "This". The correct grammar would be "He did these horrible crimes over the course of ten years" which is still a little clunky as a sentence but grammatically correct!
The “tea”, as they say, is the blood of countless home grown channels being ground down by all the content farms. Fun fact: It’s from their corpses that said farms get their compost from.
Never heard of or seen Anna Oop before, but let me say, the instant I saw the art/character, I was immediately uncomfortable because it reminds me so much of all those disturbing Elsagate things
About the hacked channels: some aren't exactly hacked, but doesn't mean they didn't got obtained properly. It was a thing at least here in Brazil (where the canal Anna Solves originally was is from) where people with long time inactive channels were offered payment for them, but usually were tricked and never received the money, or got only a small bit of the payment, and some when the reason about it was lying about it being something else; We had a huge and infamous 'kids' youtuber here, HulkBR, who was on a scandal involving stealing channels. Those channels are later sell in not very trustworthy sites for a big sum of money, and the reason is simple: monetization. Since UA-cam requires at least a thousand subscribers and at least 4 thousand hours in total of watched content to monetize a channel, for those channels, specially corporative ones that focus on generic content in buck, is more 'profitable' to simply buy a already monetized channel; That's why it's not uncommon to see "Top 10" channels with thousands of subscribers, but barely hundreds of views on their videos: they're purchased channels bought to take advantage on their monetization.
**heavy sigh** I KNEW this day would come. I personally never heard of Anna Oop before this, but I LOVED the Spill. I knew they were some bull, but I was into it all the same. appreciate you doing this for the culturehomie
I love this. This was my reaction too the first few times I heard about tea- why is everyone talking about tea? I wonder what's controversial about it... 🤔🤔
Thanks everyone for another great video. ...Poor TRO, you sound depressed, and I think I'll start to feel it, too, based on how things are going. Thanks for keeping us informed.
There are many channels produced by major film and entertainment production companies. It’s just surprising that people think all these channels are done by tweens/teens/twenty-something year olds. They have huge bank, backers, investors, full camera crews, professional sets and lighting etc etc. They are even made to appear less polished or scripted. To look like one amateur creator and her friends with a DIY studio in their parent’s spare bedroom.
I have left at least one comment on an Anna true crime video talking about how this persona had to be fake. There were too many times where the video would feature multiple new clips of people saying the victim's name, only for "Anna" to completely mispronounce it. It was so poorly acted. This video is satisfying.
I like Anna's subject topics and when they're good, they're good. But she mispronounces and gets information incorrect all of the time. She just did the Idaho murders and there's so much information and whoever the narrator is, she makes no attempt to learn how to say a name. As a true crime creator myself, I use multiple sources including newspaper archives to make sure I'm accurate as possible. And if I can't say the name correctly, I put a note that I tried my best to get the names correctly. I think that Anna solves releases so many videos throughout the week, that they're only using 1 or 2 sources without fact checking to pump out the videos faster.
I knew the moment you said she had almost four channels that she couldn't possibly be running all of those by herself. I work full time and run two UA-cam channels. They're not too labor intensive, there's no research involved, but it still takes time to get everything done.
Tbh I don’t understand how people couldn’t tell she was a content farm from the beginning. For me, it was the over the top editing and the sprites/character she uses, just always seemed off to me. Like it was trying too hard to blend in with real creators.
i remember briefly coming across one of the true crime videos, hearing that voice, and immediately recoiling LMAO i was not fooled, that voice is PEAK how-do-you-do-fellow-kids in the way that only corporations trying desperately to be relatable can be
I have an immediate extreme distrust for anyone who unironically calls themself "your girl" or "your boy". It sounds about as authentic as a corporation saying they see their customers as family.
I remember seeing a true crime documentary. The next day Anna posted a video and there was parts in her video that was word for word like the documentary. That’s when I figured it out what she was doing
I will always appreciate the variety of editors you use for each individual section. It really adds a change-up that keeps me more engrossed in the topic.
I used to watch her videos, not religiously or anything, but pretty often. I noticed strange grammatical and pronunciation errors, errors in reporting where she misattributed actions to the wrong person in a story, factual errors, etc. it would snag my brain, it made no sense! She would get it right in one part of the video just to mess it up later, like it was AI script reading from a lazy writer. When she went into true crime, though?!? At first, I figured I’d watch her. Bite sized videos on subjects I already watch? Why not? The errors increased, when they should have decreased, considering that these are REAL PEOPLE with real families who I’ve seen show up in comment sections quite a few times. Not only did the errors increase, but she was SO disrespectful of some of the victims! Sharing the most morbid details with language that gave me a visceral reaction. I physically recoiled, and I’m not even exaggerating. Thumbnails and titles that reduced victims to the worst detail of the worst act that ever happened to them. Her videos started to make me sick to my stomach. Then I heard she was just a script reader to a content farm, which somehow made everything even worse. Not only did I quit watching, I started actively avoiding. When just listening while working, I used to let videos just play, listening sometimes a little closer, sometimes it’s reduced to background noise. I hear her voice and she is literally the ONLY creator that I will go out of my way to turn off. She either sold her soul or she sucked as a person to begin with. Even if someone else is writing the scripts, which seems to be the case, she reads them out with GLEE, never trying to soften the blow by changing the wording, or anything. I’d argue she seems to do the opposite, and if she makes any changes, it’s to ADD shock value, at the expense of the victim’s and their families’ dignity. The people behind this awful content are downright evil. They know what they’re doing, and they lean into it.
as a person who's worked with content farms (albeit for extremely short time) i think you might be overestimating the power and control of outsourced talents. a lot of people in these fields are just poor, with no proper connection nor background/experience to land better gigs much less argue with our employers when we _do_ get gigs. maybe the VA _did_ editorialise to make it more shocking or whatever, and the employers simply liked that approach and greenlit it. but the possibility of the VA being _directed_ to do that specifically, is just as high if not likelier. personal opinions be damned; we're all just trying to survive. if you want to call anyone evil, reserve it for the ones calling the shots and leave the people at the bottom of the food chain alone. "the people doing it know what they were doing." sure did. not like theres a lot other options though.
My number one rule of UA-cam: never watch a channel with “tea” or “spill” in their name. Watch people like TRO who actually do research and give a damn.
"..and love her or hate her, Anna had a personality-" agree to disagree man 😭 the FIRST thing i thought about anna oop was quite literally "where is the personality?" there is not a SHRED of soul in her voice or avatar. it's very uncanny to me lol

@@Jasonmakesvideo lol I like this term
imo, they also over dramatize things.

@@madisonemily4083 MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT
I can always tell if a commentary channel is corporate if the art style looks like something you’d find on a kids dress up game.
STOP ITS THREE IN THE MORNING AND I TRIED NOT TO LAUGH AND ENDED UP SPITTING ALL OVER MY SCREEN
I SWEAR I THOUGHT THEY JUST USED MOVIESTAR PLANET FOR THEYRE CHARACTER OR WTV 😭
As an artist, i HATE this style😂
That elsagate art style stuff is hideous
I just saw one of her videos a while back (when the makeup community was at its peak) And i honestly thought that it was made in a dollmaker, like those kids making gacha vids LMAO
for real, I swear it looks like it was ripped straight from girlsgogames or movie star planet
in all seriousness though, yeah I'm also an artist and her avatar was one of the biggest tells, it always made me feel like the channel was really... corporate? fake? I don't know what word I'm looking for but it kind of rubbed me the wrong way?
why would u care if the animation is cheap 😭 smart people save their money
Yall saw her mobile game ass corperate graphics and thought she was a real person?? Just listen to her voice. How was this not obvious from the start?
Because their demographic is most likely children who are mesmerized by cartoony shit
I was thinking this too
*WE* all know knew this, but the channel definitely panders to younger audience who might not be as media literate
People still aren't used to the idea of a corporate UA-cam channel pretending to be a 'real person' who decided to try and make a career out of UA-cam, so they aren't looking for the signs.
Same here, her voice sounds almost like the 5 Minute Crafts narrator :/

god…channels like anna oop really just serve to further prove how we’re all just living in a black mirror episode 💀
i'm actively in the drag race fandom and i totally forgot they got dragged into this... tbh you could tell something was off about butter face bc it almost verged on a parody - most of the drag race content creators i follow are, for a show that's so over-the-top, surprisingly pretty calm and down-to-earth, especially the ones that deal in the production and creation of the show
As a previously naive 40 yr old YT viewer, I made a few comments directly to “Anna” regarding the horrendous mispronunciations of victim’s names, blatant disregard for getting actual facts wrong and the mind numbingly click bait titles “she” was pushing out. One day, a genuine angel informed me that “Anna” was just the narrator. It all clicked at that point 🥴 Another great vid TRO :)

There's something so bizzarre about a whole ass corporate team deciding that starting Twitteresque drama is the best step forward. You just know a bunch of suits were sat in a meeting asking "what would a 21 year-old drama creator do here, ah yes, stirring the pot."
It was pretty obvious it was the same creator. It was a hidden information. It was even sponsored on her main channel...
She isn’t even faking it, her damn character looks terrifying like is it just me.
Her voice is annoying
As long as they’re not deceptive I’m fine with them. It’s like when chain restaurants pretend to be mom and pop shops on delivery apps.

Imagine if a UA-camr's channel blew up after uploading a video about a traumatic experience & people realized a year later, that the person, the story, & the voice were all fake.
Not only would that mean people were tricked into feeling real sympathy for someone who doesn't exist but it would also make it harder for people to believe similar stories that are actually true.
Then there's the possibility of a serious journalism channel consisting entirely of cases researched by an A.I. with no human fact checking.
On the other hand, it really doesn't matter when it's a stop motion video of Springtrap chasing The Mystery Gang.
Honestly I wouldn’t blink twice at the thought that this channel is set up in an identical format to Anna
Well you see... Money!
It's just so transparent and off putting.
exactly why i stopped keeping up w this kind of petty bs
Aw fuck, I had NOT been expecting to hear Techno's statement again- hope he's resting well 🐷❤️
Heartbreaking
I saw Paige's video when it first came out was SO shook by it that I had to make my own video about this - the way I saw it, even if I could let a handful of people know about this travesty, I felt it would be a good place to start. I'm very glad to see the topic covered by channels like yours, even if the AnnaOop channel got another year - it's borrowed time anyway. Thanks for making this video and sticking up for the smaller creators
The editors did such a great job putting this together. Dude, you have a great team
Babe wake up, tro posted about something I had zero inkling of prior!
(Thanks for being quite an enjoyable content creator tro! I supposed to quote a certain someone, I can only make hot leaf juice.)
it's always a good day when The Right Opinion drops a video

@@sxmbxdy Do you not like TRO, or are you just having a bad day? 😂
Thanks! for always doing this long form content.
New fear unlocked: The Right Opinion is also a hidden company with voice-over like Anna Oop, creating a feedback loop of these channels doing videos on each other, churning and shuffling subscribers to the next one
TRO, J Aubrey, SunnyV2 are all the same
really j aubrey no way@@jasonvargas7564
Another top quality @TRO production!! Thanak you ALL the editors, sound, writes & of course, TRO.
Like ok, f it lol… she would say things like, “He did this horrible crimes over the course of ten years.”
I’m sorry… There’s no way you can get me to believe that you’re smart enough to simultaneously run three channels single-handedly but you don’t know How to properly use the language you speak natively?
No. Doesn’t make sense.
But like I said, it did start getting better as time went on, so I don’t know if they saw people like me, mentioning it in the comments and then asked her to run over it or if they hired an editor or what…
It very much sounded like someone trying to impersonate an American teenager or young adult more than it was actually one. But who also spoke (fluent but not perfect) ESL. And I know that obviously the voice is a young person… but like I said, especially in the oldest videos, it just didn’t fit.
what's wrong with “He did this horrible crimes over the course of ten years.” ?? sorry i am not a native speaker so i don't know
@@dinariddle1696 "This" is present tense, meaning that the crimes would have had to be currently committed to use "This". The correct grammar would be "He did these horrible crimes over the course of ten years" which is still a little clunky as a sentence but grammatically correct!
@@sweetsour8225 thank you for explaining!
Hm
10:18 As a timeless artist once said, and I think this applies to manufactured channels like hers, "Bold and Brash? More like belongs in the trash!".
Is mayonnaise an instrument
The “tea”, as they say, is the blood of countless home grown channels being ground down by all the content farms.
Fun fact: It’s from their corpses that said farms get their compost from.
It took me one Google search to find the voice actress who does Anna Oop... 😶
What's her name tho?
Never heard of or seen Anna Oop before, but let me say, the instant I saw the art/character, I was immediately uncomfortable because it reminds me so much of all those disturbing Elsagate things
About the hacked channels: some aren't exactly hacked, but doesn't mean they didn't got obtained properly. It was a thing at least here in Brazil (where the canal Anna Solves originally was is from) where people with long time inactive channels were offered payment for them, but usually were tricked and never received the money, or got only a small bit of the payment, and some when the reason about it was lying about it being something else;
We had a huge and infamous 'kids' youtuber here, HulkBR, who was on a scandal involving stealing channels. Those channels are later sell in not very trustworthy sites for a big sum of money, and the reason is simple: monetization. Since UA-cam requires at least a thousand subscribers and at least 4 thousand hours in total of watched content to monetize a channel, for those channels, specially corporative ones that focus on generic content in buck, is more 'profitable' to simply buy a already monetized channel;
That's why it's not uncommon to see "Top 10" channels with thousands of subscribers, but barely hundreds of views on their videos: they're purchased channels bought to take advantage on their monetization.
**heavy sigh**
I KNEW this day would come. I personally never heard of Anna Oop before this, but I LOVED the Spill. I knew they were some bull, but I was into it all the same. appreciate you doing this for the culturehomie
I've never heard of any of these channels and was hoping that there was community drama around tea the drink.
😂😂
I don't even know what a Tea channel is. We're both winners.
I love this. This was my reaction too the first few times I heard about tea- why is everyone talking about tea? I wonder what's controversial about it... 🤔🤔
Lol we used to say “spill the beans” in my day, now it’s “spill the tea”. I giggle thinking about calling these “beans channels” hahaha
@@EggGorlComics I'm totally down with bean channels
Thanks everyone for another great video. ...Poor TRO, you sound depressed, and I think I'll start to feel it, too, based on how things are going. Thanks for keeping us informed.
There are many channels produced by major film and entertainment production companies. It’s just surprising that people think all these channels are done by tweens/teens/twenty-something year olds. They have huge bank, backers, investors, full camera crews, professional sets and lighting etc etc. They are even made to appear less polished or scripted. To look like one amateur creator and her friends with a DIY studio in their parent’s spare bedroom.
I can’t with the phony “hey girl” voice. It feels like she’s about to tell me about an amazing business opportunity.
From her name alone you know youre not dealing with a sane human
The fact that Anna Oop basically stole her name from Jasmine Masters should have been the first sign...
It's an unnerving feeling to think you're watching a real person, only to find out none of it is genuine or even real.
If you ever need to make another channel, you should name it "The Left Opinion". Or if you make a podcast, that'd work too.
If he ever made a Vtuber channel, it could be called The Bottom Left Opinion.
She sounds like a voice actor of 'my story animated'.
Edit: Oh...
I miss Jenna so much 😭😭😭😭 I hope she's having an amazing, peaceful, happy life with Julen and the doggos ❤
i remember briefly coming across one of the true crime videos, hearing that voice, and immediately recoiling LMAO i was not fooled, that voice is PEAK how-do-you-do-fellow-kids in the way that only corporations trying desperately to be relatable can be
I have an immediate extreme distrust for anyone who unironically calls themself "your girl" or "your boy".
Love how TRO credits the channel’s editors and supporters. Classy move ya twa*. 👏
TRO x RPDR?? On my pride? What a crossover. What reality did we shift into??
@@mophead_xu Why not blame all of them?
My number one rule of UA-cam: never watch a channel with “tea” or “spill” in their name. Watch people like TRO who actually do research and give a damn.
I mean if the tea is actually really tea then that’s different. I watch tea taste testings sometimes.
When did we switch from spilling the beans to spilling the tea, anyway?
