I think what's trying to be said is that, they haven't been on the scene for that long, and their prestige doesn't match with the previous celebrities that have done a Pocari commercial. There were pretty big names up there (TWICE, Kim So Hyun, and Chuu who is well liked in Korea), a brand deal with Pocari isn't easy to score. It's honestly surprising how it isn't already widely known that no idol ever earns a living purely by performing. Most of their revenue comes from brand deals and ambassadorship. Earning a living purely off performing is, to be very blunt, a shitty business model thats bound to ground a company. Its not sustainable and highly unpredictable if idol groups rely entirely on ticket, merch and album sales. What happens if the group doesnt sell enough tickets? Idols don't earn a living by performing, performing is really just a gigantic marketing ploy and the real money is earned from endorsements. Because otherwise, agencies really have no point in debuting idols like that.
I think they should focus on actually making them SOUND good before marketing them. Hybe is just a money hungry business, a monopoly. Bighit Ent really died just for this nonsense to come up. Groups who cannot sing, getting undeserved success.

Personally i don't think its hybe who is going out of their way to get brand deals for illit members, illit members have the privilege of being the top group as soon as they debuted so of course brands will reach out to hybe in hopes of securing popular idols especially those who have huge chance of becoming the "it girl" as wonhee is marketed by hybe already as such whether netizens agree on it or not. Hybe has no reason to jump hoops gor illit because they know already that illit is a goldmine for brands
The privilege bought by who. ILLIT was all payola from the very beginning and it’s sad because I think if HYBE had let them go the route all their other successful groups took they’d be in a much better spot. To call any of the ILLIT members popular is to stretch the word to its very limits. There’s a difference between payola and genuine influence on culture
You know what… I figured it out. Hybe truly is the best idol company. Even if they’re members vocal doesn’t impress people, they still win award shows, get brand deals, and lots of fame. Isn’t that what being an idol is all about 😂

It’s the agencies job to produce the music and promote the artists. It is not the companies job to make illegal business deals that violate like every South Korean law and taking away opportunities from genuinely relevant and successful groups who do not have as much money and power

I think were forgetting that being an idol is a job. Like that’s their full time job and it’s where they get their money from so obviously the main goal is for idols to get the best deals. It’s a companies responsibility to get their idols brand deals that lead to better payment. The sad truth about the idol industry is that at the end of the day it’s just a job. They have to earn money too, so sometimes that means using their visuals instead of their singing or dancing.

I think they are hating bc hybe is making them get brand deals but they still can't train their live vocals
Because they cause several hardworking groups that are not nepo babies to lose their win in music shows? because they bought the streams? because their company paid apps like spotify or melon to fake their streams? because their music video contains pedo-like imagery? because they are privileged? because they are not talented themselves? because they sing like a goat and can't dance? because they're faking stuff to gain sympathy? because most members rigged their way into the debut batch and ruined lives of other people in the show that are more talented than them?

People should learn to think deeper. It's not good to blame but if you're gonna blame someone blame Hybe. You really think idols just get to have an opinion on how they go about their careers? I bet a lot of companies barely cares about the well-being of their idols, they don't care if they get hated. Attention is attention, whether good or bad, and attention gives you money. Companies only care about money!!

hybe is shady in a lot of things but one thing they are commendable for is how they protect their artists' image (especially the garam situation where they had to let her go because public backlash is threatening the other member's and the whole groups' future. Ew why are kpop fans expecting a new kpop group to sing like Beyoncé or something 💀they literally have no experience like what are you expecting?
They’re doing their job… it’s the brand that should be blamed if anything
Why is that? No one should be blamed
The brand shouldn’t be blamed, brands want the prettiest and most talked about people to be their models and if your faves aren’t getting brand deals that just means the brand doesn’t want them. That’s the real world, not everyone is gonna want you 24/7 nor will getting what you want be a piece of cake and you have to deal with it.

The privilege bought by who. ILLIT was all payola from the very beginning and it’s sad because I think if HYBE had let them go the route all their other successful groups took they’d be in a much better spot. Isn’t that what they’re supposed to do though..? Support their idols and get them more opportunities to promote them more..? That’s one of the main things every company does, not only in k-pop. It’s wordwide in literally everything. Idk though I just thought of this so dont come at me in the comments
No it makes perfect sense, we've seen idols from bigger companies getting brand deals more often than those from smaller companies (BP from yg, aespa from sm, red velvet from sm, twice from jyp, bts after they became successful, etc...). Money and connections buys better opportunities and promotions.
