I never tried the firestarter wood.I have used the paper/cooking oil thing It was my go to until I bought a chimney.Good to know there are alternatives to fluid...thanks👍🏿
@@bntsrecipes It turned out great. I jerked some chicken, and I smoked some ribs, but I accidentally dried out the hamburgers by leaving them on there a little too long, but thanks for the tips, as they were really really helpful ✌🏾
Ya know @raysingley7069, we love the simplicity of this one, as that was the whole concept behind this! Especially since we have so many of them here in the Southwest. 🏜️
@seanmorissette5765 This particular grill has no heat setting at all, that's why everything is based on the burning of the coals and the controlling of your vents. If both vents are fully open, you get higher heat. If you have the vents halfway open, you'll have a lower heat. And as someone else mentioned, if the vents are fully closed then it'll kill your fire.
@rydrizzy7 Normally you will see your flames reduce and the coals will start smoking. Takes about 10 - 15 mins from lighting. NOW, Close your lid and let the smoke build as your rack will sanitize from all the heat. 20 mins later, if coals are red in the middle and some are gray on the outside, then you're ready to Open the lid, load it with food and Grill :)
Interesting method, we like that it is fluid less, we never tried it but from what we've seen please be safe & watch those 🦶toes 🦶when pouring in those 🔥hot coals🔥.
Turkey? I never ate it that way and never thought to try it this way, yumm . We just had a deep fried and oven cooking method.whats the cooking time for it.
We think you'd enjoy it @kt65199, fo sho! We've yet to try deep frying, but can imagine how delicious that is. Now, sadly, being that the turkey recipes are premium recipes, we can't quite share the deets, but you can check out the final results of a few different versions here: bntsrecipes.com/?s=barbequed+turkey

I never believed that my charcoal would light without lighter fluid, but I am going to try this method the very next time that I fire up the grill ✌🏾🔥
@@shawnkincheloesr5192 I never use lighter fluid, you can taste it in your food too.
@@NTATchannelNickTaylor Yeah, true enough, but I have gotten use to the taste down through the years I guess. 🤷🏾♂️
@@shawnkincheloesr5192 bon appetite
Happy to help @shawnkincheloesr5192! We'd love to know how it turned out for ya!

Hellll yeeaaahhh, ganna use this method to light ny first charcoal grill fire myself. Thanks!🎉
Try a charcoal chimney. Its easy and no lighter fluid. (Try some cooking oil on paper towels or newspaper to ignite the coals in the chimney)
That's wassup @MeTaLLissA_! 🧡Enjoy your barbeque and let us know how it goes!
Use tumble weed to light chocoal

Needed some tips for no chimney, thanks so much! Good info!
You're very welcome, @user-oj1kt4yp8t! Thank you🧡, and we got you👍
This is very ❤ Helpful
Glad it was helpful!🧡
How do you find that grill for setting the heat etc my grill doesn’t appear to have a grill for the charcoal should it

If you taste lighter fluid in your food you put your food on way too soon. The fire will kill that odor
how do you know when to open or close the lid to the grill?

Yw glad you enjoyed it! 😊
The correct way is to use a chimney on top of the grill. I personally use tumbleweeds.
We're just keeping it simple for the non-chimney users. But thanks for the feedback! And tumbleweeds are definitely great🔥igniters.
i use a chimney

I also use a chimney but it’s NICE to learn different ways to literally a fire!!!!

@@bntsrecipes you are so welcome!
You put the food on before coals got hot that’s why food taste like lighter fluid
True, and that's why we opted out of using lighter fluid, as this method keeps it simple and avoids complicated processes!
