The F22 has been my favorite aircraft since CAP in high school. I’ve always wanted one that was good to fly and showcased the performance of the real deal. There are only two f22 models that meet this requirement: the t-one f22 and this one, and the t-one is 20x more expensive. I have two of these. One brand new in box, and one I’ve added thrust vectoring to. I’ve set up this plane so well that any advanced pilot would be excited to make her laugh at gravity. Problem is, I’m not a pilot capable of doing this plane justice. So until I’m maverick, I’m stuck with my aeroscout. I will learn to fly, even if it takes me years and a dozen aircraft.

Nicely done, Jon! I do have to disagree on the stock landing score, though. The wheels may be hard and the suspension stiff, but it is still the easiest landing EDF I own. On an all stock setup with full flaps, the F22 settles into a beautiful nose up attitude on approach every single time. I have never found the F22 to have really any bad tendencies when landing, come to think of it. Hard wheels and stiff suspension doesn't seem like enough to give it the worst possible score in your chart; especially when the F22 can be landed so slow and soft, that it doesn't ever seem to come into play on my asphalt landings.

I understand the Ace Combat Mobius reference, but is a base model Freewing F-22 only a Mobius once someone has upgraded to parts you've listed, and setup the bird to referenced settings provided?

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 місяці тому

Basically yeah. Otherwise it's not flying "Ace Combat Protagonist Level", feel us? Doesn't have to be the specific parts we're using, but you should absolutely get a neutral to slightly tail heavy CG and extensive gyro control if you're serious about making this thing fly like Mobius 1. 😉

This video is awesome! You never hold back! How do you like the Spektrum ix20 SE? I was going to get the ix14+ do you think the iX20 is worth it over the ix14+? I have had the ix12 since it came out and it still works but it's time for an upgrade. Going to hand down the ix12 to this kid at the field who flies with a cheap HobbyKing radio that always has issues.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  3 місяці тому

We've owned the IX20SE since October of 2021. Easily our favorite radio by far. We also have the IX14 as a backup, and the NX8. The 20 is preferred because it has bigger sliders and a larger screen to work with for programming airplanes. The 14 is phenomenal for what it is, and is honestly probably all you'd ever need since it has 20 channels, two sliders, one knob, and almost all (except two) switches that the IX20 has. If you want to learn more about the radio, hop on Discord via discord.gg/twobrosrc and ask in the #tech-and-setup channel.
If you're considering one, you can support the channel at no additional cost via alnk.to/cHNB9Mt - but of course you owe us nothing, so whatever works best is what you should go with.

AS3X+ has a very finely tuned algorithm for planes that's in the same league as expensive gyros like Demon Cortex. It's significantly better than the simple gyros that come with FMS planes, for example. We wouldn't recommend flying something tail heavy without it.

Hi Jon, great final wrap up to an amazing jet. I just got mine last week and Im working on the setup now. Just wondering about the LG voltage, you said that the LG runs on 5.5V but the specs on the MotionRC site show them as 4.8-6v. Added to that the stock BEC gives out 6v as well to the entire setup… Am I missing something here? Thanks again, a.

Use what works for you. 4000 packs for less weight but reduced flight time. 5000 packs for more weight but increased flight time. The connector used is dictated by the battery/ESC plug you're using.

This is a complex subject that's summed up best as "yes, but no, depending on how you fly."
      >Dies the AS3X+ have ability to return plane home?
AS3X+ is a gyro, not a flight controller. So, no.

      Thanks...
      I Know
Slower planes are better for beginners...
      Because of Time to react:
Slower planes give beginners more time to process the flight situation and make necessary adjustments with their controls, allowing them to build muscle memory gradually.
      Reduced stress:
The slower speed reduces the pressure to react instantly, making the learning process less overwhelming.
      💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Flying a fast RC plane can be challenging for beginners primarily because of the required quick reaction time needed to make adjustments, which heavily relies on developed muscle memory that takes time to build through practice...
A beginner might not have the necessary muscle memory to react fast enough to correct errors at high speeds.
      Muscle memory and reaction time:
When flying a fast plane, small corrections need to be made almost instantly to maintain control. This requires well-developed muscle memory, where your body automatically responds to stimuli without conscious thought, effectively decreasing reaction time.
      Learning curve:
Beginners often struggle to develop this muscle memory quickly, leading to over-correction or delayed reactions when trying to adjust to sudden changes in flight path at high speeds.
      💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
      💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Above Are Reasons Why I Take a Fast or Difficult To Fly Plane or Helicopter Very High & Fly Slow In Huge Elliptical Pattern...
Because It Gives Me Enough Time To Recover Before There's a Danger of Crashing...
Plus I know how to trim & adjust curve & response of each control on radio so it's softer, less responsive & reduce extreme ranges...
Apologize if my jargon is incorrect...
It's been awhile since touching anything RC...
They Say It Takes 6 Channel Radio...
      I'd Get a 9 Channel for F22 in Video...
      💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
      Maybe I'll Just Get One...
Take It To Any Extremely Large & Wide Open Space...
And Once All Servos Have Been Checked Out...
Just Take It Up Very, Very High...
And AS3X+ sold be able to level out flight & I can focus on going straight & making wide turns while gradually increasing speed...

I notice you mention them occasionally as a possible failure point- I'm sure they are weaker than metal, but recently I had an electrically busted FMS plastic servo, and out of curiosity, i just decided to grab the servo horn and yank it back and forth as hard as I could, and i wasnt able to strip the gears whatsoever. Maybe they're a bit more durable than we give them credit for?
