As someone who graduated HS in 2001 and doesn’t hoop anymore, it feels weird getting these but had to try these out as a casual shoe.
I swear lol 😂 I feel the same way I was fighting not getting any recent signature basketball shoes, but I had to get the AE1 Futures
The "V" design on the traction and his AE Logo on the tongue is Roman Numerals V, which is his jeresy #5!

It's a shame they don't come with extra laces. This has been a weird issue with the AE1. The original Peach colourway came with extra laces, and some people say the blue ones did as well, but others say they didn't, and then the colourways after it didn't come with extra laces either.
P.S.
The designers of the shoe have confirmed there is no lightstrike in the shoe. It's full-length jetboost.

Does it come with extra laces like the all star colorway?
It doesn’t. Though I’ve heard in past colorways some people got extra laces some didn’t
I prefer weight sometimes for performance....example Air Jordan 12!😄I feel they help me concentrate more on every move I make because I feel the weight I also weigh my moves to be correct!🙃😉
