As a person who just started listening to foxing. I thought the record was very impressive. This song has the best instrumental on the record in my opinion
End Lyrics. If I listen I can hear Palms kept white hot gold rings folded like a Knot tied tight sweat leave sleep take me now I've done nothing right I've gone wrong beside I can't see what's there But If I listen I can hear Luck bent low roar drum pressed to the glass The glass pressed loose soft spots marked on the wall Wall an empty stomach I've done nothing right I can't see what's there If I listen I can hear it Palms kept white hot gold rings folding like a Knot tied tight sweat leave sleep take me now I've done nothing right I've gone wrong beside I can't see what's there I can't see anything at all
@@michaeldane3350 well, the entire discography of Glassjaw or any other hardcore/screamo outlet. Can't quite recall anything of the sort within the genre.
@@michaeldane3350 Check out a band called Blood Brothers, they've got very similar vocals if you dig that high-pitched singing/wailing. Example - ua-cam.com/video/Vt1o8uKykUc/v-deo.html
It's art, dude. The intended meaning is only ever half the story. Ask yourself how you think and how you respond and how the lyrics and the motions resonate with you, and you'll find an answer soon enough.
@@halapenopepper lol I'm aware of what the song means to ME. I'm much more interested in what the song means to the writer. And to others as well. Hence me asking the question. Appreciate the response!
I took it to be a song about someone fighting alcoholism. The lyrics are incredibly powerful when viewed from that lens, which is what immediately screamed out to me from the second line
@@talksickFPV The whole album seems to be about fighting addiction. In this song, there's constant reference to dogs, with the "hair of the dog" being a reference to fighting a hangover by drinking more. In Slapstick, the god of destruction is laughing like a wild dog at someone coming down from a high. Won't Drown references wolves that have corrupted the character Connor's singing to. All of this from a band named after a species of canine. Coincidence? Yes. Probably.
Lucas Crawford did you not even hear that crescendo? that was some soulful shit. don’t condemn a band for stripping a genre tag that became shit again once bands like Jank and Mom Jeans took it over.
Samual Glass both those bands are great and having a huge amount of talent, so i don't know wat ur getting at. Hating on em doesn't make u look cool for being so loyal to foxing
Spotter They are genuinely bad bands. Jank had a child rapist for a vocalist and Mom Jeans are talentless stoner hacks who don’t know a G chord from a C chord. Jank is kinda emo but Mom Jeans is not; they are lazy stoner pop-punk with an emo edge.
Samual Glass separate the artist from the music and ur argument doesn't hold up. Matt/Lou had an enormous amount of musical knowledge and mom jeans is relatable to alot of people. Also, mom jeans definitely isn't "lazy stoners" as the lead singer/guitarist graduated from college along w the bassist and drummer iirc. They put so much passion and time into their art, so if u don't like their music, that's fine, but u can't say they aren't great musicians bc they know how to please a crowd and they make alot of people happy with their music. I wish u'd take a minute to see these artists in a positive like rather than just spreading negativity in their name and hating on them for no other reason than just to hate.
This song is a lot more enjoyable if you imagine that the horses are the ones singing it.
Did you just improve perfection?
@@Ericpmueller Perfection has leveled up!
wow thank you
I hate that you said this, sir.
That's better, thank you lol
Hearing this song live just recently gave me a whole new appreciation for it. Amazing.

I can’t stop listening to this song lately.
Nearer My God is one of the best albums of 2018 and "Grand Paradise" kicks it off with a masterpiece. Bravo, Foxing.
End Lyrics.
If I listen I can hear
Palms kept white hot gold rings folded like a
Knot tied tight sweat leave sleep take me now
I've done nothing right
I've gone wrong beside
I can't see what's there
But If I listen I can hear
Luck bent low roar drum pressed to the glass
The glass pressed loose soft spots marked on the wall
Wall an empty stomach
I've done nothing right
I can't see what's there
If I listen I can hear it
Palms kept white hot gold rings folding like a
Knot tied tight sweat leave sleep take me now
I've done nothing right
I've gone wrong beside
I can't see what's there
I can't see anything at all
The last half is so good
The skramz vocals at 3:50 is my favorite musical moment of 2018
It gets me every time, I swear. Similar instances of genius by other comparable artists/bands?

Mike Shinoda remix is better :(
Not a big fan of this sound from them. Really wish they kept pushing forward in the genre instead of becoming a poppy imagine dragons type deal😞
