First step: Remove the cat from the cutting surface. 😅🤣😂 Fun quilting idea! I really like the swirling pinwheels, all diamonds, and diamond with echos. Thanks for sharing! 💜
Thanks for all the ideas of how to use these blocks - I really like the twirling pinwheels. I also have "furry help" when I'm sewing and I wouldn't have it any other way. Cats are just great - as are all animals. Diana (UK) xx
The first quilt I made, over 34 years ago, was with original Hidden Wells pattern by Mary Ellen Hopkins. (I am sitting under it right now). It’s grand to see so many variations on this clever pattern!
The diamond formation is my favorite layout...I saw this years ago, when Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Co. did a tutorial on it called The 3 Dudes ...have made quite a few quilts using this method/pattern... love all the different ways, including the Pinwheel.
Love the supervisor cat! I have a chocolate lab as a supervisor when I’m sewing in the morning. Luckily she doesn’t hop on my cutting surface, she does tend to get paws and her tail under my chair though. Love the fabrics you’re using very pretty.
Such a helpful kitty. I miss my cats. We inherited them when our daughter moved to a no pet apartment. I’m really attracted to that block lately, but my sewing mojo left after the election and I’m waiting to be re-inspired. I have mannnnny 2.5 in strips to use.
I hope you get your sewing mojo back soon and I understand your feelings. I find it helpful to just start stitching anything. I often just take random scraps and sew them together to make crumb fabric. I'm creating and even though I'm not making a project, I am making "new" fabric that I can use in the future. Check out my videos on crumb fabric for inspiration.
Thanks for that question! I am using rulers and rotary cutters from Martelli Notions. The rulers have a non-slip product on the back of them so my ruler never slips and I get perfectly accurate cuts each time. They are so much better than acrylic rulers and I use them with their cutting mat which is also accurate.
Great video, especially because of the beautiful cat. I was sp happy when you finally gave him a little loving at the end. He definitely loves you! ❤
Come for the quilts, stay for the cat.
😂😂😂
The cat is cracking me up, love it

Clever use of leftover binding. My overflowing bin is begging for a project. Thanks

All three of my cats love to watch me quilt.
Love the black cat. Mine does the same thing. Great block

I have the same cat problem. ❤😂

Love the hidden wells block. Your kitty takes all your thunder though.
She does, doesn't she. She definitely rules the house - and the quilt studio 🤣
She needs a sparkling tiara😅
Such a gooood helper.
Well...sometimes 😂
Awww I love your kitty❤
SO glad I found yo! This is GREAT! Thank you.

Another beautiful idea! Thank you go you and your assistant ❤
Black kitty! Best marketing tool ever invented. Subscribed.
Thanks, I think she knows it too 😉
Love this! Such a simple block with all those various layouts. It's definitely one that I'll be working on soon . Thank you so much 😊
Thank you for the video and the information. I have a cat that loves to be with me when I sew. Like you I don’t have the heart to move him.❤
Cool
Thanks for the EQ options.
Love your sweet Kitty!❤
She's always ready for her close-up 😂

Cute cat
Love your quilting assistant! My 2 late cats were my quilting/crochet helpers. Love the video and this block.
I love your helper, beautiful!!
She's always ready for a close-up!
❤ That was so full of good information and ideas. Thank you. M from USA NH
You're welcome, M! I'm glad you found it helpful.
I love this!!
❤
Are you from Salem, MA ?
No, I'm Canadian and even Salem isn't from the US 😉
But mommy, I want attention too, says the cat😂😂
Love the quilt, and your kitty girl! What's her name? She deserves some credit
Thanks, Laura. That is my queen, Salem. My other kitty, Victor, is more camera shy.
Ok I’ll ask the obvious question. Why aren’t you using clear rulers?
Thanks for that question! I am using rulers and rotary cutters from Martelli Notions. Sorry I am not a fan of the kitty distraction. Can't see what you are doing
