It's been a couple of weeks since this elm had it's top severed. See how it has been doing since then and hear some of my plans for the future of this spooky tree.
Yup, no surprise that it looks better. I've never had one of these so the growth habits and the way that it buds back from old wood really blows me away. Cheers, thanks for sharing.
Hiya Jared. I missed your videos. Very happy to see you are back to making them. Like you, I am looking to add to my Halloween collection and have a suggestion for you. Have you considered Corokia Cotoneaster? My plan is to make a forest after the “Haunted Forest” from “The Wizard of Oz”. Join me?
Nice bark. Mine is over 20 years old and the bark is smooth. It is getting some orange spots. Clearly another variety of chinese elm. Both are cool. But yours is spooky 🤣
COVID-19 isolation.....smoke laden air shut-in....nothing new from tv productions....HEY! THERE’S A NEW BONSAI ECHO! YAAAAAAAY! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jared.

Tree is great. Good video. Glad you are back on you tube. Keep up the good films
Cheers from south Australia. Fabulous tree! I could imagine a headless horseman riding out from behind it, lol
I could see that too!
That’s one wonderful and funky looking little tree. Thanks
Glad to see you back and safe.
Love the "spooky" on this one... great inspiration! Thank you.
Thanks, Jared. It's always nice to see an update.
Another great video Jared, keep the great content coming!! 👏🏼
Its looking good with the top removed. I just love how tiny the leaves are!
It lives up to the name “Dwarf”, this.
This tree tells many stories... Terrific!
Spooky stories 👻
I really like that tree, it really tells a story. Its like something out of a fantasy novel or like a studio ghibli movie
It’s a weird little tree. Really fun to work with!
surely you ,ll give super image in future..congrats from srilanka
Nice!!! More updates in the future please
That's my kinda tree!
It’s one I really enjoy working on. It’ll keep me busy with all the backbudding, that’s for sure!
It looks like a tree in a magic forest.
Very good....

Awesome tree!! Looks like a angry orchard tree.will you persevre the carving with just lime sulfur?
Just lime sulphur for now. I’m ok with it rotting out more since I want a more defined hollow at some point.
What do you spray on them in the winter. I think I better spray something 9n my trees this year.
Dormant spray. Diluted lime sulphur is one option.
where did you get this monster from? :D
A little Bonsai store near Seattle called Bonsai Northwest.
you ok with those fires in bonney lake?
Our place is fine. Evacuation zone was a half mile away. Too close.
@@BonsaiEcho dang dude! glad you are ok. I am north of seattle.
@@BonsaiEcho what are you using to winterize the tree? I also have one and it is my first.
I’ll likely leave it out for the winter unless it gets super cold and windy. Snow is fine, but cold and dry winds together are bad in many ways.
That’s a wonderful funky looking tree. Thanks
Glad to see you back and safe.
I thought you and ig ran off together. 😃
Thought about it. IG and I get along pretty dang well.
UA-cam is good to me sometimes too.
Facebook, though... too much drama for me.
@@BonsaiEcho the spooky elm is my new favorite tree.
