This is often the most important guitar lesson that an intermediate guitar student can experience because it opens the door to understanding how music works rather than just putting their fingers somewhere on the neck of the guitar because some tablature told them to do it
It looks at the diatonic chords that can be constructed from the notes of the C Major Scale and then having established the chord qualities (Major, minor or diminished) of the chords constructed with a root note on each note of the scale those qualities are replicated in every other key
As a guitar teacher I encourage my students to use the open (rather than bar) chords whenever possible as it prevents the sequence of chords being just another moveable pattern that they don't really have to think about
Included in the video is a "one minute five key challenge" where guitarists are invited to play along with the same 1-6-4-5 (I-VI-IV-V) chord sequence in five keys in quick succession

I am 66 y/o but I continue to work so, I cannot sit in my self made studio all day and work on music (not yet!). What I do have going for me is passion! I absolutely love to play my guitar!
