Highlights are why more damaging then doing your roots. Highlights overlap on your hair nonstop. When u do your roots it’s only touching the new hair. My hair is way more healthy doing solid blonde rather then highlights made my hair so dry and breakage

I wash my hair once a week & use a flat iron maybe once a week. Deep condition twice a month. Also have a water softener & water purifier. Purple shampoo 3 times a month. I have long thick hair & no extensions.
I was dirty blonde most of my life and used to weave in platinum, then around 40 I noticed my roots we’re getting lighter and lighter so I let it go awhile, low and behold there’s 80-90% silver and I have a much better color than I ever had with chemicals
I’ve been red for 8 years and a year fully platinum blonde and I will say no damage to my hair at least but it’s high maintenance because cool blondes brass easily

Yes I save $200 usd doing it myself only I use biplane expensive masks when on sale after toning or I try to remember to run coconut oil through my hair before bleaching to keep it from breaking. I’m a mix of dark blond and light ash brown but it looks insanely dark growing in against my platinum hair. I’m exhausted from up keep. There is another way to change your hair color after bleaching, I studied at a great salon as a teen, you fill your hair with a edema before dying it back. Or you can use fun manic panic colors on it as it grows out. A Demi perm color fills the cuticle and you want a week to dye it the shade you want. There can still be a little fade through so there will be upkeep as it grows out. I’m so sick of bleaching my hair I just dye the roots light blond in between bleaching as it’s super long and takes me forever to bleach these bleeping roots good luck 🍀

I agree 💯 about the roots thing, it’s even worse when your natural hair colour is dark brown, it makes your hair look so gross and dirty 😢😢 and then the blonde parts go brassy and orange 😢

Hi. I just got my hair bleached on natural jet black hair… they used an ash blonde toner and my hair is now golden… just wondering how many more sessions will I need to get white blonde?
My friend tried it and her hair looked very damaged and she couldn't grow it past her shoulder length. It is definitely not a color for everyone as it needs lots and lots of maintenance, products, touch ups etc. Don't think it's worth it if you can't dedicate yourself fully to caring for it afterwards.

Been every other (natural) colour and I'm a natural redhead whose roots are coming through a darkish grey as I'm WAY older than you. lol I'm currently at the 6/7 level. Going to add some Olaplex No.1 to my next lightener and then using a platinum toner. After that, I'll only ever be bleaching virgin hair near the root, - I'm leaving my roots natural - and will just use toning shampoos on the lengths. I'm letting my hair rest before bleach No.3 because it wasn't looking good after No.2, so I'm currently here with patchy orange hair I have to keep up to hide the orange/yellow patchwork! lol Not so sure platinum suits everyone. It's best on pale skinned girl with blue eyes (which you are, and luckily I am). Also, I love your warm-platinum colour personally. Blonde doesn't always have to be "ice" or "silver".:)
What’s your favorite way to get rid of hard to get out toners? My ends are so porous that it kept some of a nasty gray hue when I accidentally overtoned my hair.
Try using Dawn Dish soap, it sounds harsh (and it is more harsh then normal shampoo) but Dawn is pretty gentle. It does wonders when you over-tone, takes the excess color right out

I have been rocking platinum blonde for almost 3 years now, and I love it. I started off with coloring my hair lighter than my natural color (light brown) and kept going lighter every 3 months until it was lighter enough to go for platinum. My hair is way lighter than the girl in the video, and I noticed the lighter my hair color is, the more glowy my skin looks. I put on a little mascara and rose color lipstick to complete my look. You need to be patience if you want to go platinum blond and enjoy the process until you achieve your desired result. Good luck!

And you need a much lower volume developer with toner, it will damage it Bally more if you use a 20vol with your toner
