Hey Deo, Thanks again for another one of your exhaustive videos. You make a great trainer. A quick one for you….. I got the same code on my evap system indicating a small leak on a Audi Q7. Please point me in the right direction on how I should go about fixing the issue.
Another technician back probing connectors when the connector is disconnected in their hand and front probing should be accomplished to prevent a very small amount of damage to the connector environmental seals. I also notice that you follow some of the teachings of the ASE training material. You also failed to do your visual inspection on the harness where it was available to be visually inspected prior to dropping the fuel tank. You also failed to test the portion of the harness from the accessible multi-pin connector towards the vent valve via a resistance test followed by a visual inspection for the section closest to the multi-pin connector that would have located the problem much sooner with no parts required and no time to diagnose the entire harness above the fuel tank. I will only guess that 1 hour of labor to the customer was unnecessary. THUMBS UP but please follow your training mate. Look at the harness at 6:58, there is a low spot where the harness shroud can hold water to cause corrosion right where your wire broke, and very easy to visually inspect the section first. One purpose of the RED ring attachment near the multi-pin connector is to hold the few wires close together and prevent the wires from forcing the black shroud open over time to allow a larger funnel-like formation to allow even more water into the shroud, it was a poor design from GM a long time ago and a bad design until today. At 9:15 there is no tape to help prevent water from entering the end of the shroud, lesson learned. I will also guess that vibration played a role in the damage which was another hint to inspect that hanging section of the harness. Looking forward to watching many more of your pretty good diagnostic videos.
drive the 2015 gmc si era now trip a po172,175,304.what happen I check an found the pipe between the mass air flow an the filter box an it was misfire a lot can that trip this code
I found the problem the spark wire was tracking to the side of the manifold an the coil tomorrow I will check the mass air flow thank you keep making those video I am learning From you
my evap solenoid clicks when I plug in the electrical connector even when the car is off with no keys in the ignition. It also gets extremely hot to the touch, I'm actually scared leaving it plugged in being that it is around the fuel area. It seems like it's stuck open/closed. I got a new part and it does the same thing. Anyone know what could be the problem there? Thanks!!!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair - thank you so much for the reply. Can you advise on what or how to go about repairing the control wire? is that like replacing the entire harness or perhaps the ECM?

I have a 2018 chevy traverse, can you possibly tell me if the vent valve is in the charcoal canister or on top of the gas tank?
@Osogrande72 it should be on top of the fuel tank

If the vent is actually defective, can the removal of the valve be done without totally dropping the tank?
Dealer Auction Nightmare No! it's on top of the tank!
What color is the ground an power to my vent valve control circuit on a 2015 GMC Sierra 4 wheel drive 5.3 flex fuel

Mine 2014 traverse is doing the exsact thing. It pulls up purge valve canister under the hood but the light comes right back on 2-3 days later.
@adamgrant2017 your vent valve might be defective or the wiring of the vent valve could be corroded!
