This is nothing short of a masterpiece. What a loss to music that he died so young, and that he was evidently too busy soldiering to leave us more to admire and enjoy. What rich and unusual instrumentation...makes me want to write something for the same ensemble!
They were friends for sure, but if he ever was a student of Beethoven I have not found any evidence of. Maybe there is somebody out here who has more info on the subject.

Thank you- we love you so much. Because of people like you, classical music will last forever.

Wonderful piano octeto💐
Good enough!😊
6:17 - repeat to top of Allegro grazioso
The second movement is reminiscent of the second movement of Beethoven's 5th piano-sonata
Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia died in the battle of Saalfeld, in 1806.
Hmmmmm....very Haydn like. Quite good for a royal. :-)
Wasn't he a student and patron to Beethoven ? .....

Didn't Beethoven dedicate one of his Piano Concertos to the Prince? The 3rd?
@JLeeGraham He did indeed, as an esteem of him for the prince as an accomplished pianist.
Prince charming 😍
