SDCC - Announcement Reaction - Robert Downey Jr Returns to the MCU as Doctor Doom

Following the Marvel Panel announcement at the San Diego Comic Con that Robert Downey Jr is set to return to the Marvel Cineamtic Universe to play Doctor Doom in Avengers Doomsday and Secret Wars, the Geek Rant team try to determine if this is a good idea and can he save the MCU?

Good morning from New Zealand.
I felt it was a cash grab definitely.
I feel the MCU dropped the ball when they decided to no longer do Avengers movies and it really hurt the fans base not to get an Avengers movie.
It is the only X factor that separated it from all the CBM out here and was true big puller to the MCu.
Yes Ironman 1 and 2 did good but The Avengers smashed it and their ideas was to scrap the Avengers first?

Thanks for watching and your great comments - we agree the avengers is a great pull - Avengers Assemble really propelled the franchise all the way to end game. I also think this was set up well by the individual avengers team members own story’s with the infinity stones helping to tie it all together.
