Your aquaponic system is amazing in itself, carrying out so many things besides filteraion💜💜.Wish I had a big space,I would ask you to build this amazing system for me😍
Nice one! Out of curiosity, is fish feed expensive? Also, how do you go with higher temperatures in regards to keeping the water cool enough? We're trying to work out how we might start a similar system but we live in the Flinders region in SA, which is arid, and we get baking hot days every summer so we've been considering a smaller system indoors. I'm really curious if the cooler nights are likely to balance the temperature out, we're waiting on water tanks to be delivered at the moment so I guess we can monitor their temperatures next summer and see.
Howdy Water temperature depends greatly on the ambient air temperature obviously but if you have the tubs undercover that will reduce the temperature a fair bit in summer. You also might need a shade cloth over the plants and grow beds so it doesn’t heat the water up too much. You can use native fish like grunters that tolerate almost freezing to about 35°C. The only other issue you’ve got then is the water getting too hot for the plants and the nitrifying bacteria. But there are quite a few people that do Aquaponics in Desert areas and get away with having the tubs well insulated in the shade.
@@paulstingrayGardening Thanks very much for the info mate! Yeah we definitely need shade cloth in summer for most veggies but I'll look into insulation ideas too, sounds like a winner. Cheers! I'd never heard of grunters either!

@@paulstingrayGardening Ahh! My bad hahaha.
Incidentally I did find another species of grunter but I think there's a reason Jade Perch are so popular.
