Chrissy’s quote about the difficulty of the regularness of life hits hard. Alex Karalexis Tony was a bit of a dick to Christopher not in this scene but the way he treats Christopher is poor.Chris has a reason for hating Tony. The film Chris made Cleaver is a great example of Tony that’s who Tony is if u remember
If you watch the last scene when Chris and tony are talking right before Chris's death, the Pink Floyd song playing says "that child is dead the dream is gone" or something along those lines and the song sings this while tony is looking a Chris, huge symbolism
The way Chris acts for a moment at 3:20 is so good on Imperioli’s part. Never seen a more accurate portrayal of an insecure kid worried about how they’re coming off to the cool grown up. He does this also when Tony tells him he loves him. I’ve known and been friends with a lot of autistic people and they have this same sort of look a lot of times, where they’re over-processing their own behavior and things aren’t clicking just right
Snoogz From The Pilot episode we see Chrissy abusing drugs. First coke, then Meth, H started in Italy. Getting hooked on the morphine from his gun shot sealed the deal. Harder to get that than dope so he went to the H hardcore in S4. I’m sure it all started from self medicating for his (he denied it) depression.
Thats what makes most ppl do drugs. It's not always family issues, trauma, not being satisfied with your daily life leads ppl to use to create excitement.
The "regularness of life" line perfectly encapsulates depression. Even mobsters, rich people, celebs - they can fill their lives with entertainment and pleasure but at the end of the day, theres all the dull in-between moments. The moments nothings going on and you think and stew. At this time of the episode Chris was having nightmares about his first hit. You think about Anthony Bourdain and Robin Williams - guys living amazing lives - and they offed themselves. Something about the in-between moments was too much for them. "All of mans suffering comes from his inability to sit quietly in a room alone" - Pascal
I love the other scene from season 5 when Tony yells at Chris for not being quiet during their sit down with Johnny Sack. "NOW I HAVE TO UNFUCK WHAT YOU FUCKED!!!"
That tirade Tony goes from 0:29 to 1:00 is amazing acting. You can really see the level of anger and concern at once (and it also happens to be kinda funny).
You can tell that each actor’s dialogue is filmed separately in these car scenes as the view out Tony’s window is clearly middle of the day and outside of Christopher’s window it’s sunset.
Imo these are the two best actors in the series. Everyone is so solid but these two give my favorite performances across the series and their interactions are always gold. Gandolfini really needs no further explanation but Michael imperioli’s performance is so effective and nuanced especially when you see how soft spoken and thoughtful he is in real life. Him and Christopher are almost completely different people
Man, the things you learn with age. It's very apparent Tony is using his experience w/ the shrink to try and analyze Christopher. Pretty hilarious actually how obvious it is. He needs to know if he's a problem or not so he wants to understand his thoughts, his motivations.
Not sure if I'm making this up or something, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that David Chase said this show was all about people who lied to each other and themselves. This scene perfectly embodies that and it's one of my favorites for that reason.
The part about „The regularness of life“ probably resonates in most men nowadays who wish for a less sedentary lifestyle and more excitement, risk and maybe violence
DAMN! That was some real acting right there.... You could literally & viscerally FEEL the awkwardness and tension just mounting as both characters WANT to truly just be honest and express the angst of being human but torn between that expression and the boundaries of limitations brought on by the lifestyle they've chosen as well as the choices made during... The silence in between dialogue spoke equally well with the tense atmosphere... It almost felt like those silences were incoherent stuttering of the pair trying to get out the words, but being so nervous and anxious that only stutters come out...As a viewer, i actually felt sorry for them even knowing that it's just fiction--that's hard to do... I grew up around similar types of "tough guys" and in moments like this scene, it's a pretty damn close depiction...i always thought it was sad that ANY, one person had to hide truth behind some curtain of machismo... Ironically--like the guys in this series--to be "real" and looked upon as "real," so as to be "respected," meant having to not be truthful and REAL to one's own self
That’s definitely a big thing with depression, is feeling like you have some health problem that’s making you feel physically bad. When my depression was at its worst, it HURT. In a vague full-body pain sort of way. Your whole body just hurts like you’re on a planet with 10x stronger gravity. Did tons of tests with different doctors but they were never able to find anything.
Still my favourite scene of the series, the way the argument feels so real with Christopher never able to get a word off in his defence, also the delivery on "I ask him... WHAT THE FUCK" kills me everytime :). This scene is so funny, sad and revealing to the relationship dynamics of Father-Son between Tony and Christopher
The way Tony is just popping off about Georgie walking into the bing with vomit on his shirt followed by a “SHUT UP!” Is just fucking comedy gold. “I asked him what the fuck?!” Lmaaaoo James Gandolfini is incredible.
Tony Soprano is one of the most brilliant characters ever created. Obviously a bad guy, but complicated and impossible to root against. He had so much personality and JG was a master of the role. I miss this show.
2:10 Tony suddenly looks troubled after Christopher compared suffering from depression to being "a mental midget" since Tony knows that he suffers from depression himself.
It’s sad because Tony is genuinely trying to relate to and reach out but chris thinks it’s Tony trying to see if he’s weak. And when Chris answers he bottles everything back up because he doesn’t want Chris to think he’s weak.
Michael Imperioli said certain producers and casting people expect him to be dumb in real life because of how well he played Christopher. That must get pretty old.
So many of the characters were so much more likeable earlier in the show :(. Of course that was deliberate from the writers. Also, notice at 1:25 Tony jealously checking out Chris's full head of hair! haha
Both of them are depressed but are too proud to admit it.

If you watch the last scene when Chris and tony are talking right before Chris's death, the Pink Floyd song playing says "that child is dead the dream is gone" or something along those lines and the song sings this while tony is looking a Chris, huge symbolism
kitchenromance the death of Christopher was kinda necessary
Chrissy had to be the most tragic of sopranos characters...tough role to play for micheal imperioli
tony's biggest weakness was tony.
too bad they can't just be honest with eachother. Mighta actually changed something.
SHUT UP !
StyleOldSchool - *SHUDDUP
whatever happened to Gary Cooper?
@@goodyeoman4534 Uhh he died
It would be good if we could confide in each other, these hard, hard times. But, eh- it'll never happen.
Tony: WTF is wrong with you?
Christopher: I thought you said you was alright, spider
Tony: SHUTUP!!!
Dance the f***in drink back here ya HOOO YA MUTHF**AH
The way Chris acts for a moment at 3:20 is so good on Imperioli’s part. Never seen a more accurate portrayal of an insecure kid worried about how they’re coming off to the cool grown up. He does this also when Tony tells him he loves him. I’ve known and been friends with a lot of autistic people and they have this same sort of look a lot of times, where they’re over-processing their own behavior and things aren’t clicking just right
I think that boredness with life is what got crissy into herion
Snoogz *boredom.
*boredom, heroin
Rusty Kuntz scag started wayyyyyy before Italy... what show are you watching???
SHADDUP
'I did-dant'
I been sober for 11 years and feel great.one of the best things I ever did!

@Jax T lmao what a putz
Hows about bein normal? Is that so fuckin hard ?
@kilahchris A comment doesn't mean one cares
I wish i could greet my Uber driver like that 👌🤣🤣🤣
Their relationship is the deepest and most profound on the show.
"Tony Yells at Christopher"
Could make a volume of clips with this title
0:59 that SHUT UP! Was hilarious 😂
I used to love playing Blast Corps back when I had an N64.
John Smith haha glad I’m not the only one
When you see your dad coming and you know he’s pissed and gonna yell at you 😂
That tirade Tony goes from 0:29 to 1:00 is amazing acting. You can really see the level of anger and concern at once (and it also happens to be kinda funny).
CHRISTOPHER: F**kin' Paulie...
TONY: Don't blame f**kin' Paulie!
😂😂😂😂😂I love this scene, also shows the chemistry of tough love between Uncle & Nephew despite Mafia life.
This is one of many, many, many perfect scenes in Sopranos history.
AJ rocking that N64!
Kind of want to dust mine off and play again...
Blast Corps, too. One of the other launch titles.
Probably the best scene in the sopranos...overlooked and underrated...but tony and Chris killed it there🤟❤️🤟❤️
You know who had an arc ? Noah
Where's my arc, Paulie?
Yeah, an Arch de Triumphe, in fact. Her name was Meadow.
He did fuck meadow
-"I wipe my ass with your feelings"
- Thanks. Thanks a lot"
😂😂😂
I'm sure it had nothing to do with the man being genuinely depressed and sick of his life
Yep
He’s trying to see if Chris is having the problems he’s havibg
We lost a good man R.I.P
Tony should've gotten him a playstation instead.
That "ah" from Chris after the smack 😂
Christopher is so real
Goddamn i miss james gandofini
Not sure if I'm making this up or something, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that David Chase said this show was all about people who lied to each other and themselves. This scene perfectly embodies that and it's one of my favorites for that reason.
“Shot a civilian in the foot”
SPIDER
That look they give eachother at the end is so touching.
That fucking ear slam was legendary
Tony was more humble and awkward back then.
“You wanna be a big bad guy christuuuuffa.”
Anyone notice the bridge in the backround? Same place Chris dug that body?
Still my favourite scene of the series, the way the argument feels so real with Christopher never able to get a word off in his defence, also the delivery on "I ask him... WHAT THE FUCK" kills me everytime :). This scene is so funny, sad and revealing to the relationship dynamics of Father-Son between Tony and Christopher
The way Tony is just popping off about Georgie walking into the bing with vomit on his shirt followed by a “SHUT UP!” Is just fucking comedy gold. “I asked him what the fuck?!” Lmaaaoo James Gandolfini is incredible.
One of my favorite scenes from the series.
Best "Father & Son" conversation ever..haha....I know they are cousins
he is carmella's nephew not tony's
Tony Soprano is one of the most brilliant characters ever created. Obviously a bad guy, but complicated and impossible to root against. He had so much personality and JG was a master of the role. I miss this show.
"I dunno Tony, I dunno...it's like the fuckin' regularness of life is too hard for me."
Ominous foreshadowing.
Nothing like starting your day with Tony greeting you like that😊😉
Should've started the clip 3 seconds earlier to see that great steady cam shot of tony standing there
Tony looked like a Varsity Athlete in this one.
....nice😂. That one's going to fly over some people's heads, but I got it!
Bahahahhahaahha
Gandolfini was literally the best ever....ever
Georgie comes in wit vomit on his shirt, I said, “Wat da fuq!?!?” 😂😂🤣🤣
2:10 Tony suddenly looks troubled after Christopher compared suffering from depression to being "a mental midget" since Tony knows that he suffers from depression himself.
It’s sad because Tony is genuinely trying to relate to and reach out but chris thinks it’s Tony trying to see if he’s weak.
And when Chris answers he bottles everything back up because he doesn’t want Chris to think he’s weak.
1:49 : Dr Tony Melfi. lol
This is what almost a real conversation sounds loke.
"And fucking Georgie come into the club; he got vomit all over his shirt. I ask him WTF!"
One of the most powerful tv scene ever
An accurate depiction of Life yelling at me when I mess up when I'm depressed. I tried to explain and fix it but life just yells Shaddup! Lol
Michael Imperioli said certain producers and casting people expect him to be dumb in real life because of how well he played Christopher. That must get pretty old.
So many of the characters were so much more likeable earlier in the show :(. Of course that was deliberate from the writers. Also, notice at 1:25 Tony jealously checking out Chris's full head of hair! haha
Walter white & jesse pinkman ain't got shit on Tony saprono & Christopher moltasanti the best acting duo tv has ever produced EVER. 👍🔥
This is actually an excellent scene
*"what's tha matta with you, don't ya hear tha gawddamn doorbell?!"*
2:59 "Vito asked me the same thing once. Funny, we weren't talking about depression...."
