  • Riding San Diego MTS Bus Route 992 Westbound (bus model: 2014 Gillig) from City College Transit Center Station in Downtown San Diego to Terminal 1 in San Diego International Airport (SAN). This bus journey starts at City College Transit Center Station. I boarded off the San Diego Trolley Blue Line and walked to 992 Bus Station. During the weekday, the bus arrives every 15 minutes. During the bus journey, the trip from City College Station to SAN Terminal 1 took around 16 minutes. This is the only bus that travels between Downtown San Diego and San Diego International Airport. Also, this route stops at all terminals.

What's up, man and Happy Saturday! Hope you had fun traveling to San Diego. Pretty interesting that the bus doesn't have it's own airport terminal bus station, but drives to all terminals, just like the Tri-Rail Shuttle Bus.
By the way, have you heard about the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival (28th Annual) that happened yesterday at Fort Lauderdale? There was lots of fun activities and events going on.

Hello. Unfortunately, MTS does NOT allow overnight parking. Also, I don't know any parking that is safe other than the airport parking lot. Here is their parking information: www.sdmts.com/transit-services/transit-station-parking

Thank you for the info. My next choice is to take the free SD Flyer shuttle from Old Town to SD Airport. Any idea where I can park for free at Old Town for 7-8 days? Maybe in residential streets that don’t have street cleaning? I’m from OC and this will be my first time flying out from SD.

No problem. You could take a shuttle from Old Town to SD Airport. I wouldn't recommend parking in residential because there could be street cleaning or someone may report to have your car towed. The best option (I know is pricy but worth the peace/hassle is park at the airport or park at the airport shuttle service near the airport). Another option since you live in OC is take the NCTD COASTER Commuter Rail from Oceanside to Old Town. At Oceanside, there is free parking. However you have to contact NCTD/Metrolink for a permit so your car can stay several overnights. You can call NCTD at (760) 966-6500 ; Source: metrolinktrains.com/rider-info/general-info/stations/oceanside/#:~:text=Parking,Designated%20free%20parking.

Thank you! I will drive down to SD and strategize where to park before my actual flight date.
Because I'm traveling with my father, I need to make this
      journey effortlessly.
Will report back where to park if taking MTS 992 or SD Flyer from Old Town. Hopefully, this will help other travelers flying out from SD Airport
