I'm pissed they all die first mission and never show up again and it also pisses me off how they down graded them when even tho they are new are one of the best SOF units up there with seals and etc.
I remember playing this and looking over the base and thinking “gee I wonder how we’ll infiltrate this base and then get discovered and fight the entire russian army to get out” only for us to air strike and move in after already dealing with most of the mercs. Really set this campaign away from the others in the series to me
Something strange I noticed in this mission. These are MARSOC Marines but one of the Marines rank is abbreviated as Pte. That's a UK rank, in the USMC it would be Pvt.
Not to mention, it’s extremely unlikely that you would see a pvt in marsoc unless they were NJP’d and lost rank. You automatically get promoted first couple ranks in the Marines. It’s called time in grade. 6 months for PFC, 1 year for LCPl. Marsoc schooling alone is 6 months. Include bootcamp and ITB, that will add up to just over a year.
My problem for this Modern Warfare game focuses a LOT more on the U.K then the U.S. They had one rank as PTE instead of Pvt. (Even though there are most likely no MARSOC Marine Raider would be a Pvt. or PFC.
I love how they credited Marine Raiders for what they do. I'm close to getting the Marine Raider 1 outfit and I'm excited to use it. When I'm 18 I'm joining the Marines and plan on becoming a Raider. It will be really, really, really, hard though. Wish me luck!
If you tell yourself it’s hard you’ll make it that much harder on yourself and probably won’t make it. You should already have the mindset of a lethal special forces killer before you even step foot in the military if you want to be successful. The amount of qualification courses and deployments should be considered easy. Not hard for the highest level marine. With that, good luck man.
You could go recon first so you dont have to do at least 3 years of infantry and then go raiders after, but that is not really an upgrade also recon is very difficult to get into and the training is tough but I dont recommend infantry just because you are the expendables of the expendables and treated like shit but you do it however you want.

Their ending is almost always tragic and abrupt save for griggs. Even then i think griggs also got the treatment too. If i recall he's the only one who got captured near the last mission in the original coD.
This gets me way more excited about this mission now that I know I was playing with a maine raider team!!! Marsoc does not get that much credit as something like the seals or green berets. Its a nice addition

Yeah I knew as soon as I started the mission that it should have been green berets in this mission because honestly what are the chances an e3 or e4 would ever get a chance at a mission like this, there are CBRN guys in Army SF so I just thought it was dumb how they used marsoc guys in this mission

I'm a Marine veteran and went through Boot Camp in 79. I learned Marine Raiders and Scout Sniper had existed before Seals came into existence. It's seems everytime a war would end. The brass would disband them. It's almost like they were sealed in a metal case. ( only open during a time of war). LMAO!
from what ive heard the corps is moving onto more specialized rolls like recon units, c130s, and ground to ground missile batteries. theyve dropped 7 tank battalions and are doing a whole restructuring down to the platoon level. kinda cool how they're getting back to the roots of being soldiers of the sea, but it still sucks how because of the army's lack of innovation on tanks we got stuck with the outdated m1a1 Abrams that kinda forced command to take the tank battalions to the chopping block. rah

It’s exactly that. Raiders in WW2 did special operation missions while every other marine were conventional forces. Same goes with army infantry and rangers
I wish they had made this mission more realistic tbh. Lot of artistic license, idk why they do that. They don’t need to try and make it cool, it already is the coolest job in the world.

Off the top of my head there are army green berets, army rangers, marsoc/marine raiders, marine recon, navy seals, and the bad boys: DEVGRU (Seal team 6)and 1st Special Forces Operational detachment delta (delta force) which pick the best from all branches of military special forces (SOCOM/Special operations command) Theres a couple more but it’s a bit complicated. @@One20Forty well ofc the only optic i use with that reticle is a trijicon, but in game its supposed to be an elcan specter dr. They chose to have the acss reticle because it was easier to model and program psralax for when ur character moves or they aim down initially
@@HawaiiDEEPS Respectively Tiers are used as levels of funding by USSOCOM. Tier 1 is most likely better since they are mostly comprised of former tier 2 operators that got even more training and got into Delta Force and Seal Team 6 and all of that. But overall, it doesn't really mean shit. Marsoc Marine Raiders are considered tier 2 and all of that but have frequently been given tier 1 statuses for the certain missions that they have been carrying away. This means that USSOCOM thought of Marsoc as a top priority unit that was needed, so they bumped up the funding level. Funding does not mean much really and teams outside of USSOCOM like Force Recon have extremely trained operators that don't have a tier system but have done jobs better than even Seals could accomplish. Tier 1 is a top priority unit while the lower Tiers are backups but they all are highly elite and trained equally in most aspects..
This mission is cool af, and I get it's a video game, but no way on earth MARSOC would have been this careless and unprepared. Also you had air support, no one told you that there were trucks full of enemies otw to your position?

And I’m pretty sure that this would never happen in real life because white phosphorus is banned by the Geneva Convention or something like that cause of how it works, by basically burning people alive instead of an actual bomb
@@dylansnyder2449 as someone with experience in dealing with ordinance at least in the civilian sector and a bit in some other places everytime ive seen willy pete it was a nick name for white phosphorus. It isnt banned by the geneva convention and even then this game highlights grey areas and the way governments dont follow rules. White posphorous doesnt explode like that, it more or less fizzles out. But this game is portraying it closer to a modernized napalm so it has characteristics of white phosphorus as in the molten metal and white flames, but it explodes as it hits the ground almost like napalm did. The point is that w.p. could very well be modified and used as it is portrayed in game

Back in my Ranger days i wish i had the same powers as these guys in call of duty. Where you can get shot then hide in or behind a wall to automatically heal yourself.😂 We didn't have that luxury when you get shot you get shot.

You can’t join MARSOC as a private. They should all be corporals and sergeants.
Realistically they should all be Staff Sgt for this caliber of operation.

@@HawaiiDEEPS Respectively Tiers are used as levels of funding by USSOCOM. Tier 1 is most likely better since they are mostly comprised of former tier 2 operators that got even more training and got into Delta Force and Seal Team 6 and all of that. But overall, it doesn't really mean shit. Marsoc Marine Raiders are considered tier 2 and all of that but have frequently been given tier 1 statuses for the certain missions that they have been carrying away. This means that USSOCOM thought of Marsoc as a top priority unit that was needed, so they bumped up the funding level. Funding does not mean much really and teams outside of USSOCOM like Force Recon have extremely trained operators that don't have a tier system but have done jobs better than even Seals could accomplish. Tier 1 is a top priority unit while the lower Tiers are backups but they all are highly elite and trained equally in most aspects..

This mission is cool af, and I get it's a video game, but no way on earth MARSOC would have been this careless and unprepared. Also you had air support, no one told you that there were trucks full of enemies otw to your position?

Edward Kenway Willy Pete is toxic gas, white phosphorus is incendiary and explodes. And I’m pretty sure that this would never happen in real life because white phosphorus is banned by the Geneva Convention or something like that cause of how it works, by basically burning people alive instead of an actual bomb
@@dylansnyder2449 as someone with experience in dealing with ordinance at least in the civilian sector and a bit in some other places everytime ive seen willy pete it was a nick name for white phosphorus. It isnt banned by the geneva convention and even then this game highlights grey areas and the way governments dont follow rules. White posphorous doesnt explode like that, it more or less fizzles out. But this game is portraying it closer to a modernized napalm so it has characteristics of white phosphorus as in the molten metal and white flames, but it explodes as it hits the ground almost like napalm did. The point is that w.p. could very well be modified and used as it is portrayed in game

Back in my Ranger days i wish i had the same powers as these guys in call of duty. Where you can get shot then hide in or behind a wall to automatically heal yourself.😂 We didn't have that luxury when you get shot you get shot.
