"Oh not it's not! Pam's immediate defense of Robin to that block of wood's assertion that he wasn't ever going to be taking seriously and that it was a handicap, was class and spot on. God if this hadn't been an interview with both Robin *and* Pam it would've been excruciating, only her reactions to Robin saved it from that humorless brick. How in hell did that guy ever get a job interviewing entertainers?! Feels like Robin quickly gave up on him and just concentrated on making Pam laugh. The look he gave directly into the camera spoke volumes.

To put this in perspective, Mork and Mindy debuted in Sept. 1978. Robin was a west coast stand up comic who had his tv debut on the revival of Laugh In in 1977. Robin hadn't quite reached celebrity status yet. The interviewer didn't exactly know how to work with unconventional Robin. The fidgeting in his seat may have been a nervous response.
I think Pam was an absolutely perfect "straight man" for Robin--allowing him to shine whilst providing warmth and affection, and of course, laughing genuinely at his genius. Match made in heaven!
Robin Williams was an alien...and a very funny one at that.

Pam was so gorgeous! Still is!
"People are never going to take you seriously..." Oh, good grief, Mr. Interviewer. Were you ever wrong.
And the award for most awkward cut in goes to... 2:05 !

Obviously the interviewer can't keep up with Robin, but in his defense not many could. Except maybe Jonathan Winters.

The interviewer. I think he was replacing someone who had a cold because he was in over his head.
This interviewer is so bad he could put Mork to sleep!!
And what is with his constant fidgeting in his chair.. it's like he's got sitting Tourette's!!
Christ that guy has no sense of humor 😣
