@Anthony Best Honestly, all governments lie, just look at the Trump administration right now, but not everything is a conspiracy / lie. Perhaps it is because of China's drastic measures, people's cooperation, and unprecedented building speed of 16 hospitals, something that no other country can do? Don't forget they were also testing 200, 000 PER DAY. In fact, like the WHO suggested, people need to start COPYING the drastic measures that China took after human to human transmission was confirmed, which allowed them to fight off the virus quickly. Perhaps that is why they have little to no new cases now? Perhaps that is why they have a relatively lower death number (Because of the extra hospitals)? Rather than thinking how everything is a conspiracy, look at the measures they implemented and how everyone cooperated to fight off this virus. Learn from China's measures implemented. Many governments right now around the world are reacting too slow and are not doing enough while this virus quickly spreads, despite knowing about how dangerous this virus is Months in advance.
South Korea and Singapore also implemented similar measures as China and look at them they also able to successfully fight off this virus relatively quick.

Well, they tested more people in China and China has a significantly larger population. So that means that the US is completely incompetent to have seen this coming from far away and let our numbers surpass everyone else's. Even worse, it hasn't even peaked here yet. I am a physician and I tested positive last week. The US system is an embarrassing failure. Some of the hospitals aren't even conducting the tests correctly (they're only doing the oral swab and not doing the nasal swab), leading to the potential of hundreds, if not thousands, of false-negative tests.

HEY GUYS, you either FLATTEN the curve enough or you don’t, there is NO in between. You must give it full effort, not half. Its Urgent that we drop politics and implement what works asap at this point. The WHO suggested the world to copy China’s drastic measures, because in just 2 months they were able to fully fight off this virus and China is now sending medical supplies and staff to help other countries instead. Here are some of the things they did that perhaps we can use:
1) Why so behind with the testing despite being warned months in advance? China was testing over 200, 000 people in one day.
2) Quarantine and CONSTANTLY test the quarantined. Even now, it is MANDATORY for the people entering China to quarantine for 14 days at a hotel, and during that period the quarantined people are tested EVERYDAY for free. Testing is crucial to identifying cases early and distancing the infected.
3) Asian collectivism culture also played a big role. Nearly everyone followed the rules and guidelines. Same with South Korea and Japan. Seems like there are too many selfish inconsiderate people here in the west. Look at the beach, remember Italy’s protest about quarantining? Some people seem to have what’s freedom and what’s pure selfishness confused.
4) Maybe we should quickly build large temporary hospitals too? Within weeks, China has built 16 large hospitals in Wuhan.
I just listed a few. As soon as human to human transmission was confirmed, they Locked down all of Hubei (60 mill) 2 days later and implemented various strict measures across the country. That's a pretty fast response rate, now that we get to see how everyone else responded. Countries still knew about this virus months in advance and saw what happened in Wuhan but most are still so unprepared. China’s response was far from perfect but man, look at the comparisons. Let’s use 100% effort, work together and each do our own part. If we can do that, then this will be over fast, like the medical experts said.

It’s so unbelievable that people look at thousands of deaths as no big deal. 1 death would be a massive deal. Thousands of deaths is profoundly too many.

We knew what was at stake and did not take the necessary preventative measures and are now suffering the consequences. People did not respect social distancing guidelines, continued to congregate in large spaces and were now seeing the ramifications of that.

I agree the economy is going to suffer, but an even bigger threat is losing countless unnecessary lives and the possibility of resurgence next winter as the virus continues to make a full circle now that the southern hemisphere (now in winter) is just starting their outbreaks. We need to use this downtime to give ourselves a buffer window to invest our focus in getting a vaccine out to not only solve our current situation, but to prepare us for the next wave so we don't have to go through this again.
