Like you said, Nothing groundbreaking individually. But together they make a near perfect team. Great job as always Richard. My future children thank you for preserving my hearing. :)

Spot on advice once again from Richard. I've been using Impact Sport ear defenders with custom moulded earplugs underneath (the type you do yourself using a 2 part putty) for my black powder shooting. Excellent combination for all the reasons Richard mentions. The Impact Sports seem very well made, especially for the price, and have a protective sleeve/grommet where the wire goes into the earmuff so it doesn't appear to be a weak point. Highly recommended.

Superior advise sirSir. I've been using both plugs and muffs for...a long time. But with the conventional style all but deaf cept for the heart beat breathing n constant whining ringing of damaged ears . Now you've given me a new set of options.
Desert Eagle 50ae is quite loud out doors n more so indoors or under metal cover same for 300wsm n hot 45-70gov't. Anybody who would touch off a big under cover is a loon lol. Yup I did it 1 time...1 time. Even w plugs n muffs it's just wow and the concussion is hard to explain!!!

Even better is wearing the electronic in ear plugs I use 3M PELTOR TEP-100 TACTICAL EARPLUG - TEP-100 and the Impact Sport muffs as a passive hearing protector on the outside but switched off-Actually I just remove the battery. The internal one still amplifies but the no wind interference. The Impact Sports muffs still do cut in & out in wind and I cannot hear the call of the shooter at times when I am on the button shooting Skeet.

Agreed. Thanks v much. I have bad tinnitus from one incident and so v sensitive to protection and have been using a v similar combo for years now. Those £45 outers look good. I'd be interested to know whether the wire coming out of the top and through the head piece is connected well. On other makes, I've been disappointed with that particular joint which gives way and exposes wire and makes sound intermittent. I like the integrated foamed microphone - should help prevent foam coming off. Thanks again.
