Oaker gets his driveline for his square body but it is too long and won't work so they work on Oaker's Nissan hardbody instead. We got corn from Grandma Lolly and shucked that and Finn fixes his four wheeler.

I love how Ben is teaching his boys how to do things by letting them do most of the work themselves but he is there to help if they need him.

Ben got a lot of exposure and fans during his time at FabRats. I'm stoked that he jas his on family cannel now that has an enegetic vibe that is very unique. I can't compare B&M to any other channel. Its so down to earth and the totally different content from other channels. Great to watch them build this channel with the whole family involved. I'm loving this new channel. 9:18

@@davo8802 Looks like Ben has a lot going on in his life and being 3,5 hours away makes it difficult to maintain balance with other obligations and family life. I hope that there's no problems but Ben got a lot of exposure at FsbRats that he can build a fan base on without hurting Paul and his channel. Its refreshing to me to see Ben and his family working hard to build something on their on and starting from scratch. You've got to admit their working conditions are tough but they are making it happen. I wish the best for him and I'm still a FabRats fan too and appreciate the exposure Paul has given to other channels that I watch too. You may or may not share in my amusement as a Scotsman living in Scotland, to hear the word shuck used in connection with corncobs.
Over here in Scotland the word sounds like the Scots word sheugh, pronounced by the English as shuck. It meaning a trough or ditch, also colloquially used for the backside or buttocks.
Sheughing corn paints an amusing picture in my Scottish brain.
    Sorry 😜
One thing has been on my mind since discovering B&M's Garage last week:
Today granmaw Lolly got an honourable mention, I 've been watching Fabrats since the Covid lockdown. Before Paul packed in his 9to5 going UA-cam fulltime.
I discovered all of the folk involved in the Wrecker Games and a few more besides, but never a word about your channel or your family there in Payson.
I can understand you guys being a fair commute from Glendale, but no more so than Bleepin Matt & Colt, cousin Merlin, Eric and BSF in Wisconsin, or Casey LaDelle in Oregon.

Golden Bantam Sweet Yellow Corn is nice but we used to mix it up and also plant Peaches and Cream what you kids today would call Heirloom Corn. Had hundreds of Mason jars of preserved kernel corn, corn relish, etc, etc to put up every fall and with the excess we'd have a corn on the cob feed for 200 to 300 of our friends and neighbors. We'd set up a few Army Surplus dining tents, borrow as many barbecues as we could lay our hands on and hit up the local packing houses for any hot dogs and burgers that didn't come out perfectly shaped while they were calibrating their machines and get them for half price. Of course being fall in New England there had to be some Boston Brown Bread and Boston Baked Beans. It was more like having our own County Fair but without the MerryMaker and TiltaWhirl. If you wanted to bring anything that was fine especially deserts and real salted butter. Pies from our own apples, pears, peaches, plums, blue berries, black berries, currents. strawberries, rhubarb, etc were a treat too.
We also had a goat dairy so plenty of fresh milk and farm cheese.
Here on the Florida Coast its not as easy to grow things like it was in New England so cherish it while you've got it.
    Best!

We had a piano, organ, two to three guitars and a few harmonicas we played together as a family so there was always some form of music going on most often with no batteries or computers required.
Next day after Sunday services was breakdown time for cleaning up and puting away the tables and tents however when you could smell the chocolate waffles you knew we were in for an Ice Cream Sandwich Social and it was my queue to get the ice and salt to start cranking out some fresh strawberry, etc hand cranked ice cream with the berries my Mom had blanched, drained and cooled.

@@neilfromclearwaterfl81 well Ben and I can’t hold a tune but we love music!
My family never had a hand crank ice cream machine. We used an oat can with salt and a bottle inside with the cream and fruit. Then we would roll it back and forth to stir it. I loved it!!!
Your stories are awesome! I love them! Thank you for sharing. Not very many people share. I love to learn from others and dream about different lifestyles. I am honored to be part of your life!

@@bandmsgarage The hand crank machine came later on about the same time that the black and white TV finally broke down badly enough to have to be replaced and we finally got a color TV and it didn't have any vacuum tubes in it plus came with a remote control built in. Kind of a shock to find out all the shows had been in color for many years by then. Perhaps thats why my friends didn't want to come to my house to watch anything on TV....
When I was Oaker's age I had already been doing engine and transmission swaps, built custom cabinets, made furniture, repaired tractors, welded, sweated pipe, fixed heating systems and such.
Got in trouble for taking things apart before I even started school. Big one was taking my Dads antique pocket watch completely apart and my Mom told me I was going to be in big trouble if it wasn't back together and working properly before my Dad got home from work. I think I got in more trouble with my Mom because I did put it back together and working perfectly before my Dad got home because my Dad was having trouble believing her and had suggested that perhaps she had just had a bad dream about it.
Anyways I don't mind getting the ball rolling and helping kick the banter level up a notch.
      Best!

@@neilfromclearwaterfl81 I have been laughing for 5 minutes. I love it when skill level makes people a little upset! I bet you became the first person your mom called when something wouldn’t work. Sometimes people need to see to believe.

As a mom trying to fill the four hollow legs that Oaker and Finn have it’s kind of a staple in our soups. Feeding the kids is my biggest task!!!
