This is a perfect music video. It's a story we already know because he puts so much of himself into every song. Bayonne doesn't make music for us, he loves music so much that he wants to share it with us. That's what makes him be a great artist, and why this video so poignant.

this might just be my favorite music video I've ever seen. it's so relatable and hits so close to home. my Dad recorded everything when I was a kid on home videos, but then passed away when I was 7. if he hadn't of done that while he was alive, I'd have 90% less memories of him and my childhood than I'm lucky enough to have now. amazing work on this, man. nearly made me cry.

There's something more meaningful about old home videos because nowadays, parents that take pictures or videos of their children are often doing it so they can just post it online and get attention. Back when our parents were recording us, there was no social media. They were doing it because they loved us and wanted to keep those memories, plain and simple.

Don't know if you're reading this, but I've enjoyed your music since 2018 when two of your songs were suggested to me on Spotify's "Discover Weekly".
I'm assuming this music video was meant as a thank you letter to your late father, and it's beautiful. I just want you to know that as I was watching it, I thought "I wish I had better influences like this kid when I was a kid, because I probably would've ended up being a better person today."
The bad influences in my early years pretty much determined the outcome of my adolescent/adult years, and I'm just now picking up the pieces and making things right.
I guess I'm saying all this to let you know that your dad did a really great job raising you. He did such a great job that people don't just look up to you now, but wish they could've looked up to you as a kid.

Wow this is beautiful - and really resonates with me how quickly time flies, the date stamps on the bottom of the older tapes date back to 92 so a similar age to myself and your father really does remind me of mine, this was a real coming of age and gave me so much nostalgia.
Having my first born son last year also trying to capture as much imagery and footage as we can as we all know how quickly life flies by, blink and you'll miss it.
Not to mention an outstanding piece of music - amazing.

Man, what a great song and video … I felt like I was watching a hero origin story. And your reaction to the drum set was the purest thing ever; filled me with pure joy. Thanks for making the soundtrack of my life, Roger. Your music has accompanied my own creative endeavors as I draw posters for work (primitives is my go-to for poster making), road trips, moments of joy; it’s held space for me in moments of pain. Recently I ran to “Right Thing” and felt intense catharsis in a time of my life where I can’t escape this sense of inertia and so questioning whether or not I’m doing the “Right Thing” … something I’ve been obsessed with my whole life. “Solo” was playing when I made a big life decision. These are songs that will remind me of this beautiful, fleeting time of my life and I’m so thankful.

Damn, Bayonne really looks like his father (family resemblances not always so spot on). The first listening I let wash over me and have no idea what the f&#ck the lyrics are but LOVED it (really beautiful)!!! Concerned he was in the hospital (obviously things turned out ok, yes?). Second time 'round getting some of the lyrics but hope they get posted somewhere (looks like Spotify might have them but don't have access at the moment). Will be listening to this a LOT this summer so will probably get most of them ('scuse me while I kiss this guy - Hendrix 😊). Another swell song and video. Planning on seeing the show in Brooklyn (if this music is a prelude to what the show will be like it should be transplendent 😊).
Just found out about Bayonne's father dying...DEATH SUCKS!!! I know it's such a cliche but I AM very sorry for his loss, and extend condolences to his family and friends. I'm sure his father was proud of what his son has accomplished so far, and glad he was alive to see some of it. ❤☮🌎
