  • In this video I show how I go about changing strings on an electric guitar. The guitar used was an Ibanez RG2EX1, strung up with Daddario strings.

    You saved me from spending 30 dollars at guitar center every month. I been breaking strings everytime I tried but it was a simple dumb mistake of pulling while winding the strings. Thank you man have a great new year!

    • @mobbinator
      @mobbinator  2 роки тому

      Loosen the strings with the tuning pegs. Afterwards, you can either unwind them directly, or cut them with a wire cutter/scissors/string cutters and you thread them out of the backside of the body. There's 6 holes, one for each string respectively, and you push them out.

      You may have to use something to wedge it out. Maybe like a toothpick or a thin screwdriver. Just be really careful not to mess up the finish of your guitar or the bridge

    • @mobbinator
      @mobbinator  2 роки тому

      @@rohanrana7067 check the saddle height for each string by the bridge. If it's still buzzing then, then maybe you should bring it to a guitar technician and have it looked at

    • @rhitosparsha
      @rhitosparsha Рік тому

      @@rohanrana7067 Hey there! Hopefully you got it fixed by now.
      I've had the same model (the left handed version to be precise) for more than 8 years. You can also adjust the string height using the pegs where the bridge is attached. It'll give you more control for one half of the strings as opposed adjusting the whole neck with the truss rod. One thing you can do is you can upgrade the bridge saddles later to ones which allow you to adjust the string height as well. I'm planning to get them some time in the near future.

      Thank you because long story short I have picked up the guitar again after a bad whiplash accident 16 years ago. I had paid to have my guitar restrung but they put 8's on it and yes I can bend the strings easier but lost the monster tone of the low end I was used to. After watching your video I picked up the tools needed and I am going to put the 9's on myself , so that you. My one question is once you tune them for the first time since you put them on at a half step flat that they should have to only be tuned sharp a little bit?
      Thank you so much friend, I appreciate you writing me back and for this video.

    if I tune up the strings, are the tuning pegs going to get tighter as if it's impossible to tune it higher up? it happened to my B string and well it exploded, also if I have too much windings on the strings, will it break?

    • @mobbinator
      @mobbinator  2 роки тому +1

      It will get tighter but it shouldn't be extremely hard to turn. If that's the case maybe there's something wrong with the tuning peg. Too many windings won't make it break, but I heard it affects tuning stability if there are a lot of winds

      You may need to check the neck of the guitar. Hold the guitar out as if it were a rifle, straight out on its side. Look to see if the neck is bent inward or outward. Most likely its outward and you will need to tighten the tension rod inside the neck. It’ll never be perfectly straight but you may prefer to have it slightly bent inward. Once you do this, you may want to check the height of the strings from the bridge as well to make sure they arent too low.
